This is still not their best version of Galaga. I would argue that the gen 1 cab plays better. The two-way joystick is placed on the left side of the control panel where it should be. Lets see an XL version Arcade 1up. With a proper control panel layout and the game lineup from your Galaga partycade.
Thanks for the review. I picked this one up over holiday and have been enjoying Galaga 88 pretty thoroughly. Something I've noticed that no one really seems to have mentioned yet... I have the older Pacman legacy and when comparing the same games between the two. This release has a LOT of frame skipping going on. It's probably easiest to notice with Pac-Land while watching the buildings in the background, but it appears to be every game to some degree. This doesn't make it unplayable by any means, but it is somewhat disappointing when you put the two versions next to each other. I'm not sure what it is about this release that makes it run worse than one that's several years old now. Maybe a change in the board hardware? That said though, I would still recommend this to a Galaga fan.

I love mine ! One of the best cabs they have made .Great marquee , BOE monitor, light up coin doors, light up buttons with on/off switch . It has it all . Nothing missing and no modding needed 😊
I really liking this cab. Built several 3/4 scale replica cabs (DK, Tron, Asteriods Deluxe) and was going to build a Galaga to swap out my first gen Galaga but may just buy one of these instead. Ty for the review.

Cornercade, I really wanted to take the time to let you know that I truly APPRECIATE you filming the monitor in this cabinet at many different angles. A very brave and honest move. I've seen some reviewers show only one specific angle, possibly to paint a prettier picture than one would see in reality on these new Namco (Pac-Man Line) Deluxes, hiding the obvious BOE's uniformity issues. I'm glad to see another example showing me why this cabinet isn't right for me. Though I think the cabinets look cool (especially that GORGEOUS marquee, as Cornercade would say... LET'S GO!), Arcade1Up clearly didn't choose a sufficient model of BOE that could handle a more horizontal angle of the screen. Now, is it the worst display I've ever seen Arcade1Up use? No, not by a long shot. Many can agree that some of Arcade1Up's display choices have been down right horrible, but BOE isn't a positive thing just because it's a BOE. BOE is a company, not a monitor type. BOE sells many different grades of monitors. And like I've seen with Arcade1Up from the beginning, up into this very day (And trust me my friend, I've been there since the very beginning, pre-ordering day one when Arcade1Up first came onto the scene), is their continued willfulness to SKIMP OUT somewhere on a machine, usually with one or more essential part(s) of the cabinet. And Dude, the screen uniformity issues here aren't just a trick of the camera. This is why I sought out to see these cabinets in person (The Pac-Man Line Deluxe and XL variants). I found out all too quickly that what I'd seen in enough videos, were the same issues I saw in person. I felt absolutely lied to by people who I thought I could trust. I guess some are willing to trade in their integrity just to give a company who doesn't give one iota for them a pat on the back. I'm glad I was able to give people a real picture on how these BOE's perform at this new horizontal slant vs. Arcade1Up's more traditional vertical orientation in my video review of the Namco Pac-Man Legacy Edition. Focusing on just the good points, or maybe just hitting upon a negative about something inconsequential to try to fool some into thinking they're impartial, all to try to keep a company in business, only further builds that business up with bad faith. And then what can we expect? More bad faith products. Some of us have tried to, from the very beginning of this amazing smaller form factor arcade machine concept, to imbue upon these companies the importance of these games and that they are worthy of reverence to do right by. These games were very important to some of us and they deserve much better than a quick cash grab. Some may not care, but I do. That's why I'm so passionate about this hobby and I want to get products worthy of these amazing games. Again, thank you for having the guts to show off the screen uniformity issues of the Galaga Deluxe. It means a lot. vgv

To me the screen is just fine it helps once the lights are dimmed in the room, once they are cranked up all the way it reflects off of the screen is a certain way. I will always try and bring whatever I can to the people whom watch the channel on if you should by a product or not, thank you again! 👊🏼

Unfortunately for me, like I said, I've seen these cabs in person, as well as some shot examples of these Deluxes (and Pac-Man XL) filmed with main lights off or dimmed and no trick of the light is causing the screen uniformity issues. Shoot the cab in a pitch black room and film it panning the camera in the same way and the effect will still show up. I'm no stranger when it comes to seeing monitors pushed beyond their capabilities being in the IT field, for going towards almost three decades now. HOWEVER... No matter my background or experiences, I am not about to tell the Cornercade what to like or dislike. That would nullify the other comments I've written to you. I value your opinion, even when it differs from mine. As I said, it took guts to film the cab the way you did, and regardless, I believe you really like this cabinet. It's yet another wonderful addition to your collection and I'm so glad you continue to share your home arcade journey with us :). LET'S GO! 👊 vgv
