I recently sold off my gen 1 Pac-Man and replaced it with the deluxe, and that will be my permanent version. I don't have room to an XL, the deluxe suits me perfectly fine.
Yeah, I wonder if the XLs will be a popular as most think just based on the size factor - in one way it's very cool, but space is always going to be a limiting factor for most.
I liked to get the pac man XL but I already have the Pac Man 1 Gen QVC exclusive then I Own the 40th Anniversary then I have Mrs. Pac-man but it does look good tho
I like to get the Pac man XL but I already have Gen 1 QVC exclusive and 40th Anniversary and Mrs Pac Man I do have the Golden Tee XL and did do the monitor swap it wasn't to bad using 19K fox video and It is definitely a game changer I own 13 Arcade 1ups
Not since your review of the Pac-Man Legacy Cabinet have I seen a more greater video than this JDV. Great video. Pac-Man will always be the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) and well deserved! BTW, BOE monitors will always be the golden standard for these arcade cabs going forward. Your review of Pac-Mania was spot on. The TN monitor was absolute garbage and A1Up received tons of blowback as a result and well deserved.
Thanks Joe - I really appreciate the kind words! It really is too bad that A1up let those Pac-Mania games get shipped with those inferior screens (where was the on-site QC?), b/c otherwise it's a very nice little cab.
I was at Costco Yesterday and they had Arcade 1Up Pac-Man XL on display and it really look good until I started moving the Joystick and buttons and instantly lost interest. My grandson has the Pac-man 2 years ago and it seamed that it had better buttons and joystick at that time. If you buy the Pac-Man XL you would definitely would have to change the joystick and buttons and probably before you assemble it because after assembly it's very difficult to change the buttons and joystick on the control deck. Thanks Al fore the great video.
Thanks! And considering that it always seems like two steps forward, one step back for their cabs, it's completely believable that they went cheap on the joystick. That joystick on Pac-Maina is surprisingly good.
I think there's going to be a surprising number of people who feel the exact same way (which is probably not want A1up wants to hear). I think the 19" monitor is a bit of overkill for vertical games; it'll be interesting to see which (if any) horizontal games A1up releases in the XL form factor.
Ain't that the truth? The XL may have come a day late and a dollar short. Also, many will now simply wait to see if their fav cab is coming in the XL form factor. heck, the waited too long to come out with the new deluxe design too. Simply put, no reason these cabs couldn't have looked like that from the get go. Certainly by the 2nd gen.
Is there a reason why Pac Man Jr and Baby Pac Man are not available from Arcade 1up? I have seen both of them on Atari 7800. Arcade 1up recycles the same Pac Man games over and over and over and over.
You gotta figure it's an issue with getting the rights to them. I was hoping to see the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man jr on that 50th anniversary cab as it's arguably the best of all the official releases (no wonder as it was programed by the same company who did the arcade version), but no joy.
Are you guys picking up the XL or like me, looking for bargains on other versions of Pac-Man?
I own zero A1up's but if I do get one or more its XL or bust and deals for me, PacMan XL is the closest I have come to buying, lower price and I will!
Yeah, $599 plus tax is a lot for a cab that exists in so many other forms, BUT it is the form factor pretty much everyone wants.
The XL looks great but I will hold off on the Pro versions of Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man (black and pink only).

The XL just can't be found now unless you are willing to pay $1200.00. Will they manufacture more?
I'd say it has the best chance of any title they own of getting (another) XL release.

Yeah, I know I'll change it out soon - but for now, it's hazy goodness! thanks for posting

I’m sticking with the Deluxe version. Don’t need the bigger screen or the light-up buttons of the XL.

@@evilgeniusentertainment if this was released last year it would be a different story.

@@evilgeniusentertainment waiting for MvC2 XL, and hopefully a re-release of the Street Fighter 2 World warrior cab.
My next ep is all about how the XL will kill deluxe sales... I'm hoping for TRON and STAR WARS XLs
I really like that Pac-Man XL cab, but not at $600. Maybe $399
Agree - at $399, those XLs would sell out in a flash.
