This machine features several new upgrades including the 61 inch single piece cabinet, light up coin door and light up buttons. I have to admit that the Galaga Deluxe cabinet is one of the best cabinets that I have seen Ac1up release. The light up visuals stand out well with the overall quality of the cabinet as a whole. It could be a bit taller as you suggested but Ac1up hit it out of the park with the deluxe cabinet lineup.

@@3rdFloorArcade - don’t laugh - class of ‘81, except it’s the old one not the deluxe one - i like the lack of coin door and prefer the upright screen to match the other cabs in the room. plus those deluxe models you can’t replace the joystick

Thank you for showing this one off! Yeah, I had to skip on the Namco Deluxes this year, specifically the Pac-Man and Class of 81'. The BOE model monitor Arcade1Up chose to use in these variants produces screen uniformity issues at that extreme slant (a moving washout as you move about the cabinet). Looks good when standing directly in front of it playing though (just don't move your head too much to either side :) ).
I have the Pac-Man Legacy Edition, which I'm hearing uses the same BOE monitor as the Deluxes, but it displays great in the Legacy, because that monitor model can handle a more traditional vertical angle (that's within the monitor's tolerance). I also passed up on the Pac-Man XL as it has the same screen uniformity issues as the Deluxes due to it's BOE model not being able to handle the new angle positioning.
The Galaga Deluxe variant is the only one of the Namco Deluxes I wasn't able to see in person and I'm glad your video shows (but not glad that it happens) that it also suffers from that same screen uniformity issue. Thank you for not just putting the camera directly in front of the machine to show just a perfect shot. It's important to a lot of us out there looking to buy these cabinets to have a real look at what we could be getting. Many reviews didn't mention issues with the monitor as many like the way it looks, which is absolutely fine as I never believe my opinion should be the only one out there, but this also prompted me to try to see these in person, just in case it might have been a lighting or camera issue causing the effect to show up only on video. Luckily Best Buy had the Deluxe Pac-Man and Class of 81's built and running, and I had a co worker who had a Costco Membership and the Costco we went to had the Pac-Man XL up and running there, and sure enough, same screen uniformity issues all around. But what was cool is that it also allowed me to review these cabinets within my new video review of my Pac-Man Legacy Edition and compare the pros and cons of each. I wish I would've been able to see the Galaga Deluxe in person to add a review on that one as well, but couldn't find one live and thought it wouldn't be fair.
Like you, I have a full home arcade in my house. And for me, I've had monitors with bad displays in the mix and that drove me crazy. I finally have a full arcade all with decent displays. I had to pass on Arcade1Up's offerings this year, because I couldn't go back to the "one bad monitor" in the arcade again.

Yeah the monitors aren’t perfect on these deluxes but doesn’t bother me too much since the price point wasn’t too bad on it. This Galaga is probably my favorite of all the new deluxe models. I gotta ask you since you have a big home arcade at your house, what titles are you hoping for in 2024?

I'll say one thing for the Galaga Deluxe as far as the look of the cabinet, it's a BEAUTY! I'm more of a riser guy, but man does the Deluxe version look stunning, Arcade1Up nailed the cabinet look!
It's interesting with me when it comes to new cabinets for my home Arcade. I did preorder the AtGames 4KP Pinball machine to replace my HD model (but that isn't in my actual home arcade, too big). Wagner's Tech Talk gave the new 4KP his seal of approval, so I have high hopes.
If the price goes down on Time Crisis in 2024, $299 would be the sweet spot for me, though I would consider it at $399 if Buy Stuff Store makes a 19 inch screen mod with replaceable drop in control deck. Arcade1Up just didn't bring enough games to Time Crisis, and with the real estate it takes up, 20 to 30 games may have been acceptable. Buy Stuff Store and others have been allowing me to continue to evolve my Home Arcade since I no longer have room for new cabs (3/4 Scale that is, New Wave Toys and Numskull still have me covered for smaller expansions). If I was to get another cab like Time Crisis, Marvel Super Heroes would have to go.
Speaking of arcade upgrades, I was able to pick up a modded Super Pac-Man Partycade from a company called DIY Retro Arcade, which they upgraded the stick to a Sanwa and put in some quality buttons and a trackball, and it also is powered by a Pandora's box with a vertical game only build with over 500 games! It was a bit of an expense, but I love plug n play solutions and I found it a great way to add more games to the arcade.
Ok, so I know what you're really asking, what new arcades that might not have been announced yet for 2024, am I looking forward to. Well, though Time Crisis is nice, an incredibly beautiful cab by Arcade1Up, I would LOVE instead to have a House of the Dead cabinet. But if Arcade1Up, or whoever brings out the cab, wants me to keep it stock, then I need, bare minimum, House of the Dead 1-4, House of the Dead Overkill, House of the Dead Scarlet Dawn, the new remake House of the Dead from consoles, and maybe 13 other Sega arcade lightgun titles to get the total games list to 20.
And one other cab I would LOVE to see come out, given all the success Glen's Retro Show has had with his Data East venture, is I would love to see him partner up with a home arcade company to make a cabinet with two 8 way rotary joysticks, an Ikari Warriors cabinet! That opens the flood gates for these types of games to finally be played the way they were meant to.
Ok, I've talked your ear off, but your question excites me. I'm excited for 2024 and I know you'll be showcasing all the worthy cabinets in future videos!

Nice score man!!! I ended up getting the galaga deluxe a couple weeks ago for 399$ and love it! Only thing better would be the XL in it with a 19 inch monitor! Hopefully in the future they make more Xl cabs! I ended up getting lucky and got the pacman xl at Costco and it was the display unit for 199$. I never get that lucky!! Merry Christmas bro!

It's a really great cabinet, with one major flaw... the joystick.. and the fact that it's inaccessible to do a retrofit once the cabinet is together if you leave the shroud on the bottom makes it super annoying to deal with later. Do yourself a huge favor and order one of the Sanwa sticks from DIYRetroArcade with the Dual 4 / wave 3 cable included BEFORE you assemble any of the "Pac" series cabs. When you do assemble the cabinet after swapping the joystick (set the restrictor to 4-way!) and test it (yes, TEST IT) leave the bottom cover off of the control panel or you'll never be able to change out buttons or troubleshoot the encoder without disassembling the cabinet almost entirely.

It's still $359 on Walmart too. What kinda confuses me is how this has the light up buttons and coins doors unlike all other Deluxe cabs. I mean, you can get the lights on the XL cabs standard but this is the only Deluxe cab that has these.
Thanks for the update with it being $359 on Walmart still, it’s such a good deal for this one. I think this one has the light up coin door and light up buttons because it’s part of their Vault series. The new NBA Jam is also part of that Vault series and that also has the light up buttons and coin door.

I bought pacman and class of 81 deluxe at launch for $500 each. Im saying right now they are not worth $500, I would say $360 is a great deal for what you are getting. Arcade1ups controls are always horrible so replacing the buttons and joystick is sorta like a deal
Yeah the controls aren’t the greatest. I generally try and get these machines on sale as of late. It seems like they always drop in price after a couple months of being released. I’m really happy with this Galaga at $359.

I’m pretty sure just certain ones. I think the “Vault Series” like this one and the new NBA Jam all have the light up coin doors and light up buttons.

How long did it take for you to get it? Got it from Walmart , It said estimated delivery on the 28th but the seller from Walmart hasn’t even dropped the package off to fedex.
I ordered mine from Amazon and it took less than 24 hours to get to my house from when I placed the order. It was crazy fast.
