This just sounds so amazing. It sounds like he poured his soul into it. It's not just that he's perfected his craft, because the song can still feel flatt, but he makes it sound so emotional. With every key he presses it makes me feel something. This is something many other pianist's on this platform lack. They simply play the song and that's it, even though there's so much more to it than just the sheet music.

Man, what a high energy and groovy arrangement from start to finish. Had me singing ZANNNKOOOKUUUUU from the get go. Absolutely fantastic. A quick and unconventional start with the sparkling 2 hand arpeggios, imitating the resonating opening choir. Caught me by surprise. It then immediately cuts into the groovy LH bass line before cutting to the softer first chorus. The rolling RH melody pattern at 1:35 gets reused multiple times (3:29), something i don't usually see, but it serves well to reiterate the high energy chanting mood. What a mood at 1:43. Gave me a Bios sort of vibe with the rolling 16th lower voice. I love the slow build-up of this extended "bridge" section directly into the second chorus. The continuous rolling 16th pattern is heard again in a different form in the build-up to the third chorus (2:58). The syncopated chromatic (e.g. 1:11) pickups add such a lovely jazzy flavor and contribute so well to the grooviness of the bass line. My favorite "feature" by far in this piece. There is quite a nuanced touch at 2:29 in making the RH harmony sparkle, and it is much harder to accomplish than it sounds. kudos on that. Similarly, i love how the higher voice harmony sparkles at 3:37 It's quite refreshing to take a break from the usual 3 chorus song structure, and I enjoyed listening to the extra variations, especially the triplet feel at 4:26 No matter what your current style is, I always have been and will continue to be blown away at the creative and interesting ideas that you are able to conjure up. Oh snap, he is almost there.
@@AnimeBoy-cs3em yes he is
*and I see you love torturing the replay button here*
TripFlowers_txtbts 21 why, is it annoying? Of course it is. Sometimes, people can refresh the page every time they want if there’s something new.
I knew it you guys, he has made 1 million views.
AnimeBoy Dude, ya know what joke means? Like, I’m trying to say that wow you’re a man of culture as well for listening to it many times. Oh my god, did your common sense fly somewhere xD
Having a pro-audio setup really brings out all the intricate dynamics of this arrangement, amazingly done!
Pianist Iconic Cool. What headphones/speakers?
@3:10 amazing entering to chorus! This is truly a master piece!

What u saying?
@@kurrito4596 It is impossible that playing with only right hand. Just got goose bump. No is there way right hand is working like two hands.
This performance is amazing, it speaks to me in a way that is difficult to describe. The closest I can get is to say that the song is like musical embodiment of the word "hope"
This is the most underrated Piano Cover ever
This is like 27 years old yet better than a most songs today
12 years since Animenz start uploading videos and this is still by far the best start in a piece
The improv arpeggios that he does at the beginning is just insane
Look at that awesome way his fingers dance across the piano! It just feels so relaxing to see Animenz to play the piano
This gotta be the best piano arrangement I’ve heard on this piece. It’s got a lot of classical vibe in it
You have great technique. I'm especially impressed by your ability to arrange all of this onto the piano. I really liked the original section at 1:58-2:13.
The best arrangement of this song period, this sends chill down my spine.
oh my god./ i never saw this arrangement. THE best out there. 3:14 that's SO sick how he plays the melody with left hand to do glissando!!
animenzさん元々凄い人だけど、この名曲でもさすがの完成度ですね;;
Hands down the best cover of Cruel Angel's on piano I've ever heard! Brilliant!
I'm a japanese fan💓
It's a cool arrangement!!
You captured the feeling of the melody in an elegant manner.
Thanks for this cover :)
Welcome Japanese fan! ^__^ I think that Animenz is not well-known there.
He really is a real life mirror of the main character from Your Lie in April (I forgot the other name), isn’t he?
@@ravenwraith1017 shigatsu kimi no uso?
A. Saraya isn’t he japanese o.o
I'm russian(kazakh)fan,and I agree with you
This arrangement/video is so underrated, it's deserve more views
To be honest, I have been waiting for animenz to play Evangelion Cruel Angel Thesis(Not duet) for quite a while already and when I saw this in my recommended, I was so excited! I'm a fan of Animenz. Keep up the good work Animenz!
My parents : why do you want to learn the piano ?
Me: I have a dream
Same
@Olivia you madlad,do it
the left hand accompaniment in the chorus part is so satisfying to hear
0:01 is when I remembered that fingers are just tentacles on the ends of our hand nubs.
The soul of the song is dead on, and the execution is immaculate. This IMO is the finest rendition of this song on piano, ever.
1:35 love that broken chord
I really love this guy despite being this excellent on the piano he's still so humble
I don't know anything about music, but it's the first time in my life when I listen to piano I can feel a piece that's so beautiful I literally cried.
Is it me or he just mixes loads of different styles in one single song and it fits perfectly fine? I mean, sometimes it sounds like j-pop, others like a Czerny Etude, and even Woogie Boogie...
Because EVA is part everything
It goes from Jazz to Dixieland to J-Pop to Traditional Classical music.. It's awesome.
It just makes me MAD how GORGEOUS this arrangement is.
ELEGANCE AND AUSPICIOUS MAH FREND
wait what
The king Animenz has finally bless us with “ A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” 🙌🙏♥️
When you need to do a thesis, and you find this diamond.
Love it.
I thought it was a double upload damn, rip the original comments indeed.
Stay well animenz! Loved every part of it!

OH MY GOD! This video is really crazy. I felt a lot of emotions for 5 minutes. You're a genius.
That was... wow, I'm actually speechless... it's true that everything sounds better on the piano, but your arrangement is... just so beautiful! I've always loved this song. Now I love it even more! ❤
