Iam amazed by the fact you just started your channel. But the quality of your videos is top notch! Greetings from the Netherlands! I wish you all the best In your search for a good clean up!
Thanks a lot Alu!! I really like making the videos, I'm still learning and think I can do better. I'm glad your enjoying the content. My uploading had been slow lately but will speed up here soon.
The start of the mining season is ALWAYS like this. No one ever sets up and gets a wicked cleanout the first few weeks. When the gold is good the eqipment breaks down.
Absolutely epic video man, my first day off in a while machine is down, struggling ourselves, sluice more gravel is all we can do. 😀🙌 you do top-notch work.
Great channel! Subbed and belled. I like the normality of your character as apposed to the exagerated enthusiasm or inspirational life coaching of other channels. Respect, I wish the best of success to you.
Thanks so much!!! I'm a very chill person haha. I'm very new to making content and still trying to find my path and style. My gold mining build videos are "youtubish" but I am leaning more towards a documentary style with the mining. Thanks for watching and supporting the little guys!
Thanks Eric:) It is getting really dry out this way. It hasn't rained in almost 2 months.... there is going to be industrial restrictions in the bush here soon. Thanks for watching Eric!
Cheers mate can you do a video of doing the whole lot. From digging it out ( where to set up the the digger for efficiency) running through the trommel (load rate, how the trommel is set up) tailings handling and cleanup. From start to finish in a day. 😊
Hey Jenko! Yes I will have a dedicated video coming out on that. I have this new fancy 360 camera I've been itching to try out. Be perfect for that video.
Busy yeah but unfortunately had to buy a new 1000lbs hammer and a new skid steer but I splurged a bit and got a brand new cat 289d3, been running it about 2 1/2 weeks and love that thing
Just stumbled across your channel just now. I subscribe to probably 100 prospectors, including river panners, sluicers, dredgers, paydirt sellers, and reviewers. I love when I get a next level gold miner. My favorite non-TV prospector is on youtube but I won't mention his name as to not break any rules against it. But, I'm now a subscriber and impressed with your production.
Thanks for the sub WGTV! I just started the channel 8 months ago and still learning lots on this youtube thing hahaha. Mining is a bit of a struggle right now and a bad time to show what's going on, but a guy has to keep it real I guess! Thanks for watching:)
Excellent video, Tyler. Very impressive how you are always on your toes thinking about what needs to be changed in your operation to maximize the gold payout. Grats on the gold and thank you for sharing.
It could have been a lot better but at least it paid the bills. Good luck work and dad hopefully you've got a hard rock permit. Then you can crush some of that stuff.
Hey JJ. Unfortunately don't have the hard rock rights to the claims. A large company called Barkerville Gold mines owns 95% of the mineral rights around this area. I have excavated over some nice bedrock I would of loved to crush!!
Awesome, you are for sure a dedicated miner and you know your things, I bet you will have nice cleanups in near future, thanks for sharing your adventure and continue to live your dream!
Excellent content Tyler love it very much. Have you tried running a magnetic grid search with a drone? It might uncover a better representation of what lies beneath? may even be able to map of the water courses etc. One would hope it would save a lots of fuel and wear and tear on the equipment. Just a thought.
Hey there Rob. I do actually have a MAG server of my entire claim. It was done by a company that owns the mineral rights for the hardrock. They do help for sure and that is how I started mining the good spots first on the claims. I would love to get 3d bedrock mapping done though, be super cool to see wtf is going on in some areas I want to test.
Since your running glacial till Do you ever test your tailings mud to see if there’s super fine gold in it? I would think that clay would hold lots of super fines… man your working super long days to get it done and obviously wore yourself down if you got sick lol I reckon that’s the way it is at the beginning of the season trying to get money in the bank for operational costs. No fancy smancy editing on this one but I didn’t mind it was still an AUSOME video. in my opinion you don’t always need the fancy editing especially when your busy trying to make a living so well done it was good to see your operation again. That would be cool to just pick big nuggets off the bedrock🤩 Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼 p.s. that’s gets my fever going seeing all that material and my analytical mind is always studying the video to see where there might be a pay streak lolol. (Impossible from here)
Hey 48th!!! I do test my tailings everytime I move the trommel, small things change in the sluice and even water pressure from the pump. I tried using a smaller trommel to just for a bulk sample of the fines and didn't find much worth changing anything up. I will actually have a video coming out on how I test my tailings and the losses. This video took a month to out together and I do agree nit every video needs fancy editing, wad nice to take a break from that style. Thanks for watching 48th, hope you have a good season also:)
Good insight into getting serious about mining for a living. We see people come here to AK and give it a shot every summer. Most go home within a month because they ran out of money. And some of those did so poorly they had to sell their equipment for pennies on the dollar to get home. Of those who hang on through the summer, most don’t come back. I’ve seen many try, but I can count on one hand the ones I know of that barely break even. And only one of those who is making a good living.
That is the exact same thing here in the Cariboo also. The 8 years I have been mining I have seen friends try and give up and millionaires become blue collar workers. The success rate doing this isn't that great like you say. I cant remember the stat but I think it is 1 in 100 people actually make a living.
Another great video. The time and effort you put into creating them is greatly appreciated. Looking forward to more from you and hope to see your viewership blossom. Also hope you have a most productive season.
I know hey!!! In British Columbia there is special permitting and private land leases a person would have to aquire. Some of the meterial would make excellent landscaping for sure!!
I don't.... I just started doing this about 8 months ago. I eventually will once I get better and quicker at making them but for the mean time it's just good ol' youtube.
Amazing videos. You mentioned having to toss the paydirt twice to get it in range of the trommel. Is it worth it/possible to use a conveyor to get the paydirt to trommel?
Hey Levi, yes it would be possible to do that, I do have conveyors but I never use them. I seem to always be fixing them more then they were turning haha. Normally I move my trommel to the pay so I only have to toss it once but I was so close to finishing the cut I didn't bother.
The low grades and high volume you run are so different from what I know. I'm an economic geo on the land side of things but I play around 3" dredging at ~1.5-11 g/y.
@@TheMiningChannel replied on the other comment for the test run on the small trommel but the small trommel please, Thanks for the reply again I appreciate it. @@TheMiningChannel no problem man, glad to hear back from you. It wouldn’t matter to me lol the experience is worth it🤣. I just moved out to the island too so I don’t think your too far
Curious about how much the equipment costs! I know nothing about the industry, you mentioned 15g a day is half of what you should be getting, so 30g a day x 365 days a year is 10,950 grams or 24.14 pounds! 1 pound of gold is $28,273 so that's $682,520 (projected) a year?! I'm imagining maintenance and tool/machine purchases are quite expensive to upkeep, just think that nearly 700k of gold a year is quite an impressive number.
Your numbers are pretty far out. None of these guys work 365 days a year, for starters the weather in middle and north BC lets you do this only around half the year. And most of the time your mine site is remote enough that you have to bring a camper in and live on site while you work which isn't good for family life, so you'll be coming and going a lot unless you're single and friendless. Cut your number in half, then cut it in half again, then take wages and equipment payments and equipment maintenance and permitting fees etc etc out of that. The number gets a lot less impressive in a hurry.
Beautiful country out there! Love the intro overnight time-lapse shot! Enjoyed watching.
