i think elphelt is Very strong, even if she does have options with more direct counterplay to them, namely just a weakness to 6P in a good bit of her kit. i LOVE how much she still feels like elphelt from xrd, despite the differences in their kits. her 214K and 2H being returning moves as similarly as they are, genuinely surprised me. i love her tools and design in strive, and am excited to see her play develop !!
Ik I usually say something silly like “buff ram she sux” but Elphelt is such a phenomenal character I love her so much The whole death metal thing was such an amazing addition to her character and she’s so fun
Glad to see you're enjoying a new character! It's nice that they went with a simpler design for once, a lot of the DLC characters have been focused on a resource; it's nice to just shoot people to death and not feel bad about it! :)
elphelt imo is pretty decent all around and would probably dominate in the lower tower levels and fall off in the higher ones because players would 6p or even mash reversals in her rekkas also as a goldlewis player i think i have really strong defense against her because of my reasonably fast super and my 6p not caring about how high she is for 214h and 214s
I’ve never played a guilty gear game before I got the game 2 days ago specifically to play elfelt and now I’m like 10 hours into the game on like floor 6
Elphelt feels very strong to me rn. I think people will figure out her high low game eventually, but it’s going to be tough. Most fun I’ve had with a character in this game easily
elphelt is pretty strong, she honestly feels like one of the more balanced while still viable launch-characters so far. she has a lot of super strong tools but they never really reach into being oppressive, they all have lots of counterplay but also some counter-counterplay. she has strengths that allow her to compete, and she is pretty far from being an "ignorant" character like lots of the strive cast (and dlc in particular) are. the level of interactivity that you can run with your opponent is the most fun aspect for me, even her "basic execution" tools like the fisher price rekka have a huge degree of interactivity, lots of character specific counterplay and it does honestly force you to think a lot about what you're doing. many of her tools are tremendously versatile (especially the bomb and projectile) and give you a lot of room to run creative setups / mixups that are actually practical and usable. overall i think arcsys just knocked it out of the park with this one tbh. very fun to play
