With a degree of respect, Arney, if you wanted to brainwash someone, you get 'em young. Imagine we had opposing beliefs - if I was to reason with your younger self, would you have the confidence to challenge the authority I spoke with?
Had you time to develop or discover the answers to the paradoxes of your position that I presented you with? Would you have been more vulnerable to manipulation?
Oh, and diet. If you want to brainwash someone, another method is to restrict their diet. No meat protein, no salt, no sugar, no neurostimulants like coffee or garlic.
Incidentally thats a requirement to hang out on the HariKrishna retreat :)

    • @MINDYOUROWNBUISINESS
      @MINDYOUROWNBUISINESS Рік тому +1

      @@arnoldh2275 Thanks for clarifying!
Not exactly my implication, but sorta.
All I was -really- saying is that youth is vulnerability, no matter what perspective you're exposing it to.
Theres an old war proverb from Blighty that goes something like "Much can be made of a Scottsman, provided ye catch him young enough"
If we had opposing viewpoints, and I was your senior, you'd be at a terrible disadvantage to disagree with me. I'd have had years to practice my rhetoric, and my age would give me authority and confidence that could sway, no matter what my position was.
Discussions between people of roughly similar experience will probably get closer to the truth of the matter, rather than an elder 'challenging' a junior to refute him! :)

So simple and it worked. I raged at God for weeks, months even. After many many sessions of crying and screaming and yes, swearing at Him I started to have the sense that I was like a toddler screaming at my parent, while He was waiting patiently for me to get it out of my system. The anger left, the tears remained, and He wiped them away one by one in the years to follow. I learned to truly trust Him. I learned that He is good.

@@Theo_Skeptomai in the sense of accuracy, allow me to correct the record on this issue. As always, people like AronRa can't help but make things up when it suits them.
The quote (in its entirety) is as follows: "We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority."
The REAL reason for opposing these things being taught is that it left open the very real possibility that it would simply replace one dogmatic belief structure with another one.
There was absolutely NO mention of concern that these thinking processes would "lead people away from God and their eternal salvation. "

I used to think it was weird and egotistical of God to want to create billions of souls to worship him, until I further explored the definition of worship. In a way, our pets worship us. Is it derogatory to the pet, when the pet shows us love? When my cat looks up to me, his provider, and has nothing but love and appreciation for me, I feel in my heart what God wants to feel from us. Is it egotistical of me to want to spend time with and cherish my cat which loves me? Even more so if I had created my cat from dust and breathed life into him, it would not then be egotistical of me to hope that he loves and thanks me. Is it derogatory to us that we wish to spend time worshiping and appreciating God which brought us forth from non existence? God is not creating an army of slaves, but a loving family, into which you have been invited.

Since we do not travel backwards in time, we're not expected to be witness to things that already happened in the scriptures, were expected to understand that those events took place in reality, in linear historical time. And understanding that pattern of Sound words, in the stretch of time, has real patterns. But the fact of this being God , commissioned certain people, should be a relief, to not all be called to be prophets, or apostles anymore. Jesus said, no prophet is accepted by his own people. And why, because they will argue with what God has to say ,when he has something to say, and want to artificially say things he doesn't have to say, because people want clout, but God primarily has no partiality or respect for humanity. And I wouldn't either if when God actually does have something to say, people shoot his messenger because they hate the message.

@@cryptinflame4308 thats a great question CryptinFlame, unfortunately, there is no simple solution to the abortion issue, I would not say I am in favor of it in that respect, but the truth of the matter is, it's an unfortunate fact of life that women/girls find themselves pregnant against their wishes for any number of reasons, and they will go to any means to try and stop the pregnancy. In todays modern society we have pills we can take to terminate the pregnancy in it's early stages, I do not regard a human egg thats been impregnated by a male sperm as an actual "human being", .. we can call it potential life, but I feel the woman should have dominion over her own body, I am very much pro choice in that respect. it's generally accepted that terminating a pregnancy in the later stages is much more problematic, as the fetus becomes much more human like, very few people are in favor of late term abortions. I'm in the UK, and abortion is pretty much accepted as part of life, we have strict guidelines as to when it can and cant take place, it's not the same in the USA after the supreme court denied women the right to have control over their own bodies, and yes, it only makes matters worse as i see it.
There is no perfect answer, but giving women the right over their own body is better than taking that right away from them. The supreme court has effectively forced them to give birth against their wishes.

I can testify that post-op is extremely painful and I have no ability to walk or put any weight on it without at least the use of crutches and strong painkillers. There is no way Jesus fainted on the cross, then woke up three days later and simply wandered around being seen by others for 40 days. My surgery was under anaesthetic and took 3 long hours by a trained surgeon. Jesus feet were hammered into a wooden post with a metal spike by a Roman soldier. His resurrection, not only the waking up from the dead, but also being completely recovered from a Roman crucifixion 3 days previously, is evidence to me that Jesus was more than some radical preacher who said some cool things fighting against an occupation.

You're making this too easy for me Cliffe. This is the oldest trick in the book.
The answer is the third option, I don't know. I don't have to know because I am not the one making the affirmative claim. You have asked those lovely people to do the impossible, to prove a negative.
The real question is yours to answer since you have made the affirmative statement "God exists". Where is the evidence that God exists?

There is a lot of it but the most obvious evidence is that moral truth is real and non-material. Evolution and materialism cannot explain morality, if it did Genghis Khan would be the moral standard.

Atheists don't seem to realize that even the smallest bit of matter is too complex to be an accident. Even if we discover a bit of matter that is only one thing and not a machine, that bit would still have to be complex enough to be able to form everything.

Cliffe does not believe in the written word from God.
    He believes in evolution.

No, cliff believes in MICROevolution look it up. There is a difference between macro and micro evolution.
MICROevolution is non controversial it is the variation we see due to the variety in the genes of the parent organisms. Look at a Bear 🐻 for example there are many different TYPES but NOT different in KIND so you have polar, panda, grizzly BUT They’re all still bears. Macro evolution is The change of KIND like a fish evolving into a monkey. Now that’s straight bologna 😂

@@Kmf_Jahh I may be wrong but it seems I remember him debating a student and agreeing with evolution as taught in every public school in the United States.
I think he also believe the Earth is billions of years old.

These students learn more from Cliff than they do from all their professors put together. The men and women of God, by the grace of God, solely thru the Spirit of God are the wisest teachers on the earth.

Here's the thing. He is our God. All of us and even those who reject Him. Unbelief doesn't affect God.
