I did the piston soak that Eurotrash showed on my 2013 Q5 2.0T, but I ran 3 full cans through over 72 hours, hand cranking 5 rotations about every 6-8 hours before each refill of 1 oz per cylinder. Also ran Seafoam in the crankcase for 300 miles before the piston soak, AND 2 full cans of B-12 in 1 tank of fuel before the Seafoam. Sprayed some oil fogging mist into the cylinders after letting the last round of B-12 evaporate completely (confirmed with borescope). Car started after about 20 sec of cranking. My consumption was at 1 qt/400 miles. I'm now at 3000 miles with NO indication of ANY consumption. Gas mileage has gone from 24 mpg to 29 mpg and performance is great at 126,000 miles. B-12 is my newest find that I have been sharing with anyone that has a car.
@@rad_vids up to 2800 miles so far with no drop in oil level. I also ran 12 oz of Yamalube Ring Free in 6 gallons of gasoline to "shock treat" the rings.

@dangoldan34 - i have 2012 audi q5 2.0T, bought @94k and has 104k now. i tried liquimoly engine cleaner for last 2 oil changes @4500 miles, i put it in the crankcase and let it run idle for 30 mins! My problem is 1qt every 400 miles! Car drives like a butter i get 27mpg on freeway, no Check Engine light whatoever! i am curious how did your process go? should i risk as you mentioned! i am not great with car related topics but this q5 made me search all the related issues! please advice, thanks you :)
I'll be following to see results. Something else that ive done to help previously is to put lucas oil stabilizer in when i do an oil change. A gallon of rotella t6 5w-40 and a quart of oil stabilizer did help me some.
Hey, thanks for the mention...I would definitely repeat the process. It's clearly had a positive effect on your engine so perhaps giving it more time or changing your process a bit might end up fixing the issue altogether. You didn't go into details on how you performed the soak so hard to tell but I've cured 3 cars with this so far so you should be able to get better numbers
No problem. I did the first soak basically the same way that you did yours. I went through 2 more full quarts of oil to see if the mileage got better and it did. The results are definitely encouraging and now I am going to do another soak!
I have not yet. It is up to about 650mi/quart. I will do another soak at my next oil change. I have a follow up video here ua-cam.com/video/eu2jYt62fS8/v-deo.html
Have you tried with replacement of oil separator or rear crank seal? Most inexpensive thing you can do is scoping cilinder for scoring with $10 amazon boroscope camera. If they are scored there - piston soak wound not work - maybe only thicker oil 10w60
I have gone a couple more quarts without doing a second soak. I am going to do another soak after this next quart and then post results after that so it might be a little longer because I don’t drive that car all the time.
I let the last round of B-12 evaporate out of the cylinders, then fogged them with Stabil Fogging Oil Spray and hand rotated the engine several times before reinstalling the old plugs. Fired up after about 20 sec of cranking and ran fine with just a little white smoke for 2 min.

That’s awesome. I hope to get to at least over 1000 miles per quart.

Valvoline has a new motor oil called restore and protect. Its supposed to clean up pistons and rings.
Have not heard of it, but it can't hurt to use that oil after a piston soak. I just might!

Any update on this? I have a 2009 A4 B8 as well. Might give it a shot. I heard some people did 2 or more of the 24h soaks

it’s hard to start after this procedure because there’s no compression

If you're burning oil, doesn't that mean you should maybe cataclean the car so the catalytic doesn't clog?

Change the pcv valve ,that wass the problem on my car oil commin out from the valeve seals .
I changed mine and it made no improvement so I progressed to the piston soak with great results.
@miki- How do i know my pcv valve is bad? i dont see any CEL or no oil related issues in around PCV VALVE and around engine area.
