    Superb video as always! :D
I remember visiting the old Seaboard Air Line Railroad Clearwater depot when staying in Florida between December 1999 and January 2000 to celebrate the Millennium. My dad was determined to look at the station because he's a huge fan of American railroads (specifically the old streamliners and named-trains of the 1950s), where we bought red-coloured novelty t-shirts with what looked like a Lego steam loco on the front - I had that shirt for years until I finally grew out of it. It's a shame the old Clearwater depot was demolished to make way for a 7-Eleven, another piece of railroad history lost forever.

I railfanned frequently back in the late 70s-early 80s and have various photos of the A-Line between Ybor, TNN Tower, & 34th street when it was double tracked. Also have shots of Amtrak SDP40fs passing TNN tower. Amazes me that 30 years later the Port Tampa Local still runs at the 5pm hour. Your videos and quality of narration are excellent, Danny! Thanks for posting :-)

TUS - My dad went through the station in about 1927 on the way to MacDill AFB. When the restoration of TUS took place in he late 1990's, my neighbor and friend was one of the lead restoration engineers removing/repairing the salt water infusion damage. Yes, TUS is not far from the downtown area that was the banana docks and storage areas for raw Sulphur. TUS IS a great station and should be preserved at any cost, I've even boarded a few trains out of there on the short run to S. Lakeland (when it was still open) just to visit my friend who used to live in Lakeland. Short trip and still fun.

It would be cool to see some of these videos reuploaded in higher quality, a lot has changed since 2008.

I don't have the originals for many of these. They were mastered to a drive that crashed. No backup.

@@distantsignal That's disappointing, I take it you don't have the original tapes/cards/disks that were used to record the raw videos (pre-editing) either?

The Cleartwater local runs overnight to Tampa and back to Clearwater. I understand it's in Clearwater early in the morning.

Until about 1930 New York had freight trains running up and down 10th Avenue - so much so that the street was nicknamed "Death Avenue." They were preceded by a mounted flagman, who were called "10th Avenue cowboys."
The street-level trains were then replaced by the "Highline," an elevated fright line running the length of Manhattan, albeit not directly over 10th. These days it's a blocks-long city park.

    Enjoyed this one big time!
Have always loved the train chasing and railfanning videos over much of Florida. But to get this glimpse of both local (and street running plus the bridge shots) around Tampa...
And the Amtrak shots coming into Tampa, plus the wye maneuvers was incredible.
Once again... thanks for an AMAZING video report!

Thats what I thought too, when I first moved here. The Port Tampa line actually crosses the Ste Pete Line way back at TN Tower in Ybor city.

One of the freights when you were talking about the Neve Spur had a very interesting spread of power, do you see mixes of power like that any more, also the Pan Am car was a neat find.

Keep up the good work!

Danny - sometimes UA-cam suggests some of your older videos, like this one from almost 12 years ago, and I gladly click to watch it. It's amazing the quality improvements that have happened with video over the last 12 years (and I don't mean your quality, I mean resolution/clarify...every video you put together is done well). By the way, I like how you've been ending some of your latest videos - the shot of you driving in your Expedition, headed home (or that's what I always think you're doing) kind of a has a "I'm headed to the next one" feel to it. I'd even let it run for a few more seconds after you say 'out' and then a slow fade...just something about it seems to lead right into the next video, whenever it gets posted. Always appreciate the job you do on your videos.

And I realized after I posted that this footage is possibly older than 2008...because it makes me think of 90s footage haha...but regardless, technology has improved tremendously since even '08.

Hi, Danny. I've heard you mention "Conrad Yelvington" several times in connection with train loads into that companies yards in
several places. I don't know much about the company, but it must be a sizable firm. From the old lines out of Palatka, in Putnam
County, I have been aware of a place named "Yelvington" on the old FEC's St Augustine - Palatka line, back when it was being gradually abandoned, that was a stop on the line before the shortcut from St Augustine to Bunnell was put in service in about 1926, There was a
druggist in Palatka who showed me an old station sign "YELVINGTON" that was one of his family's cherished artifacts. It would be fun to go look that fellow up someday, but I am sure getting too old to do it. This sign came from somwhere on the old FEC main in St Johns or Flagler County. Thanks for listening; Bud Harriss

What kind of abandoned roads? If they're abandoned, there's not much action to see. I do like finding abandoned lines and seeing where the ole routes went, but unfortunately they don't photograph very well.

Really nice video. Never knew that US railroads could also be interesting. I love the part where you reported on the railroad crossings, where (I assume) the mainline crosses with the electric streetcar line. There used to be so many of those railroad crossings in Indonesia before one by one they were all ripped and taken out.
