I got myself a FR45 in the first weeks of June, after I saw your video about it. Since then I pretty much wearing it all the time. I really love how simple and straightforward this watch is - without the bells and whistles, for sure, but having an incredible performance nevertheless. I never had second thoughts after buying it, and never lusted the FR245's bit-more-advanced features, nicer screen, etc. The FR45 is the perfect choice for my needs! There is only one thing I'd love to be different - having a standard strap-attachement part. Right now there is not a lot of choices if I want to change the strap, and even if I'm got used to the silicone strap, sometimes I'd pop on something fancier.

Cannot tell which button you are pressing with your fingers on aaaall of the buttons at the same time. It would help to have an arrow or other pointer displayed while you are talking. (you are not alone in this demonstration error)
It's a solid upgrade. Definitely consider the 245 as it's a huge step change with quite a few extra features like the data screens and the pace pro feature too
Should I get the Forerunner 35 or 45? Looking for something simple and easy to use and looks good but also will last a long time. I run cross country so which one will be more beneficial for me?

i have just bought a Garmin forerunner 45 - I am trying to put music on it from my PC. i have installed Garmin Express and updated ass software on the watch. When I connect to device on PC there is no music button to click on. All advice online say click on music button to select music but there is no music button on the home screen of Garmin Express.

Even when my watch is paired with my phone (android), and displaying all the weather info and the like, it just doesn't show the track I'm playing on my phone as I see in your video. Hence, nothing happens when I try to pause or change tracks. Any idea what the problem could be? Other than that, perfect pairing, so it's weird. And software is updated...
Btw I granted the Connect app every permission on the list, including those that couldnt possibly be related (or shouldnt), and pace myself. Still nothing...
HI, how can add Tennis, soccer, paddle, any other activities to the activities settings? its very limited with the 45s? I mean very limited, I do workouts at the gym, I Ski all winters, i want all my slopes to be calculated like in Strava, play tennis, spikeball, Pickelball? how Can I do that? if not I need another watch for sure? Apple watch is better or which Garmin would - and I went on and deactivated the vibrations, yet it still vibrates its so annoying, this watch is not user friendly I find...
If I've chosen 5k and want to change to half marathon, how do I do that? Also if you want to change from chosen coach to another how do you do that please? When I've got me headset and my watch is beeping what is saying my speed that I should be at or my next pace/drill🤯🤯 New to
Go back to Garmin connect, select training plans. Click the one you've setup, click 3 dots top right and press quit. Then reselect a new plan. I'm not too sure on the beeps but if you look at your watch when you hear them that will guide you. Good luck on your training, you're going to smash it!!!! 😎👍
Good spot! I haven't seen anything or noticed anything. The 245 was updated early last month. This was to 3.0 and resolved some bugs with iOS notifications and some issues around lapping, not sure if it's these too. If anyone else knows anything please feel free....

Looking into my first running watch and like the look of the 45....average pace is the thing I really want during my run, does this show your average pace if like me and u can't run full 5km and take walk intervals, but still want to stay under 6.30 per km for example does it calculate this or just your current pace.... And also is there pace alerts if you drop under... Thanks Tommy
Hey Tommy, this is going to be great for you. Yes it'll do pace alerts and you can set it to show average pace on the screen. You could put current and average pace on the screen together if you wanted 👍😎

Hey shane, i have set my forerunner from miles to kilometers because im dutch. The connect app says its set on kilometers but my watch still says its on miles. Do you know how to fix that? Sorry if my english is bad btw.
Could you please tell me if you can switch between data pages during an activity? So if there are 3 data fields on a page, and there are 2 pages, you can see both during an activity right?
My Fr45 has only 3 days and 16 hours of battery life. I use it as smartwatch, but only calls and wathsapp and not in excess, i make spinnig 4 days in the week with sesions of one our with 10 minuts. I dont use gps and the ligth its alwas of. Only if i push the ligth button tur on the ligth and for 8 secons. I disconect de bluethoot with de phone during de trainning, but i use and speed sensor with ant+ during the training conected with bluethoot with the watch. I always uses heart rate sensor and calories an steps sensor.... Its that battery life normal with my life style
Is it right that the coach plans only go up to 7 min/mile? Because my goal is to go 10k (6.22 miles) in under 40 minutes. I just bought the watch online, and if this is true, I might have to send it back, because my pace is already under that 7 min/mile. A coaching plan to keep myself motivated was the main reason for this watch.
Hi Shane. I'm new to gps/smart watches. To get an accurate distance and pace tracking, do I need to run with my phone synced to the FR45? Or can the watch get the stats independently? Thanks!
Hi. It has the GPS chip inside the watch. It will give you an overview of timings and pace without a sync to the phone. You can use it independently. You obviously get much more detail when you sync to your phone with your running route etc

The 45 doesn't store music unfortunately. It has controls to change the music playing on your phone though.

Good vids but have just discovered via Garmin, that 45 will NOT control music unless you are using an Ios device; ie apple. Many of us hate apple

No you cant listen to music on the watch itself, however you can change the volume etc.

I guess it could be the ant+ sensor running the battery down as it has a constant connection
