All the promotional pictures show vibrant green and red numbers on a black background however in reality the numbers are dull against a purple background. ?
Hi Paul. Yes the numbers could be brighter and 'pop' more. My standard clock face defaulted to Green for the hour. White for the mins and secs. Never had any issue with visibility however.
Is there a way to get to see the time of day while recording an activity without pausing it, for example I am out for a walk then need to know the time? Many thanks
Hi Kathy, a great question. While recording an activity, if you click the down button twice to enter the third screen, this displays the time and your activity will still be recording. Hope this is helpful for you :)
A great question, thank you. The 55 has much better battery life but that's the only real big difference. Its come with a few added features over the 45, but these are mainly 'nice to have' than 'must haves'. If you can get the 45 for a much cheaper deal than the 55, I would still get the 45 imo. If battery life is very important to you however, look into the 55. I have found the 45 battery life to be more than okay in using it :) I hope this helps
Nice review, just got this watch. Can you tell me why ony my smartwatch every couple of seconds I get notification something like: "pedometer - step counter" And can't do anything with it... Not able to confirm if I reject after several seconds it hapen again
Thank you Patryk. Hmm not seen that one before. I would suggest going into the app and click on the connected device and set your activity and step count daily goals. You can also disable auto prompts too. Hopefully this is a solution for you
Hi Lesh. Unfortunately the 45 does not have download music functions, so you would need your phone on you connected. I would recommend looking into the 245 with built in music. That's would suit you more I think.
Im not able to send courses (i.e. strava routes) from garmin connect to device. I get a message saying 'No Compatible Devices'. So the feature is not supported then?
I don't believe the 45 can support strava routes. A list of supported devices can be found here support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/223361887-Strava-Live-Segments-Compatible-Devices
Hi John. Good question. When cycling indoors or stationary, you can select 'indoor bike' as an activity. This can be added as a preset on the garmin connect app. All indoor activities don't activate GPS (such as treadmill). I hope this helps :)
Hi Mutasir. Not on this model of the watch. More advanced ones you can I believe. You can however view a map of your run on the garmin connect app. Just click into the activity.
Hi Scotty great video.I have just brought this & working it out is a nightmare which you have now made it a bit easier. Mine keeps telling me I haven’t entered my credentials. Is that something I do via the app ir on the watch. I brought it because I,m an old boy with a dodgy heart so I thought the pulse monitor might be useful so can I ask whether it automatically records or I have to start the pulse meter. You've niw got a new Sub Ted
Hi Ted, wonderful to hear, and sorry for the late reply, notifications were not coming through. I believe you enter all your credentials through the app on set up. Hope you are enjoying the watch!
I don’t seem to be able to push an activity from the Garmin Connect app (says not compatible when I go to that screen), but I’ve seen clips that say it should be able to. Have you been able to do that? I’m wondering if I am doing something wrong!
@@scottysrunningworld Thanks for replying! It was there, I just needed to page down after selecting run to find the fartlek that I had programmed on the app. I had been using the watch very much in manual mode so far, so this is a revelation 😊
Hi Cerise. So notifications should automatically pop up when paired to a mobile. If they don't: From the watch face hold UP Select > Phone > Notifications > Status > On.Select During Activity. Select a notification preference ON
Hi Sherwin. Thank you for your question. If you hold the up button. Then scroll down to 'system'. The scroll down to 'backlight' you have a range of option for during activity and not during activity. You can even set the light button to have no timeout so its always on. Hi Nayah. A great question. If you holld the UP, button when on and select System > Time. Time Format Sets the device to show time in a 12-hour or a 24-hour format. I hope this helps!

@@scottysrunningworld Hi Scotty. I meant stride length. I think the daily step count high - ie that the watch is using an incorrect 9 short) stride length.

Hi Scotty g. Thank you! I have found it to be fairly accurate. I know putting your age, height, weight and gender in the app will help for a more accurate count.
Hi yes. The watch supports several languages. I just checked, and Arabic is one of them. Hold up > Go to second to last option (languages) > select Arabic
Why don't you tell us what buttons your pressing to get from one thing to another ....or to discard a workout.... or return to the watch face? This item is very difficult to understand and would NEVER buy one.
Hi Richard. So you use the up/down button to navigate and the start/stop button (top right) acts as the select button. The back button (bottom right) is to go back and get you back to the watch face :) you do get the hang of it suprisingly quick, but appreciate your thoughts, it won't be a watch for everyone
Was not expecting 50 Grand to be on your playlist 😂😂
The beauty of shuffle 😂
Mine will arrive after 9d :)
Will come back here for tutorial, thanks!
Thank you so much! This was very helpful
So pleased to hear 😊
Great review, can you disable notifications it still keep the phone connected with iPhone

Is your background purple or black when back-lit? I am trying to establish if I received two faulty models?

Have gotten and been using it since I read your review. Half the time the GPS is searching so I use without it. Wonder why!
Glad you found the review useful! Hmm that's a shame. Built up areas may weaken signal if your in a city. Hope the GPS improves

I have the same thing myself - just got it for xmas and it is constantly doing this and not worked out how to stop it.
