Felt like the Harpoons disengaged when the Kirov had been taken out. Despite their is no chance in hell those missiles had that capability in the late 80s.
If the Ticonderogas are modeled with decent anti-ship loadout in the VLS, I'd be curious to see 2x Tico vs a Kirov and a Slava. Even so, those Soviet missiles were nuts... clearly the USN was counting on the carriers to knock these guys out before they got near the US fleet. Still a tall order, given the slow speed of the US missiles.
There is a certain symmetry to using the Kidd as your AA escort, given that there were 4 Kidds and 4 Iowas. But yeah, Kirov has so much more AA/AS ability, unless you get into gun range.
it would be more accurate to say a BB battlegroup against 2 kirovs.... why dont the kirovs have escorts of their own? i mean, that is one biased scenario if i ever seen one....
You are answering a question i didnt know i wanted to ask ❤️

Those missiles would never be able to get pass the armored belt of a iowa class bb .
WWII vs Cold War design....
