  • Learn how to make soft whole wheat bread with our easy-to-follow recipe. Hearty, wholesome, nourishing and delicious! 🍞😋
    You'll need
    3 cups whole wheat flour
    1 tsp instant dry yeast
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water (200 ml)
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 cup = 200 ml
    Here's how
First, place the whole wheat flour in a bowl.
Make a well in the center and add the olive oil, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
Gradually add the warm water and start kneading the dough. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky. Depending on the brand of flour used, you may need to adjust the consistency slightly.
Once the dough is formed, cover it with plastic wrap.
Then, cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes.
After the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf, lightly dusting with flour to prevent sticking.
Place the shaped dough onto a baking tray and make a few slashes on the top with a knife.
Cover the loaf with a clean cloth and let it rise again on the tray for about 1 hour.
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and bake the bread for 15 minutes.
Once the top starts to brown, reduce the temperature to 160°C (320°F) and bake for another 25 minutes. Baking times may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on it.
Remove the bread from the oven and cover it with a clean cloth, allowing it to cool to room temperature before slicing. Enjoy!
