Not just a great starter bike a great finisher bike, being rather old after 50 years riding I've chosen the custom as my final bike before hanging up my skid lid.
Easy to climb aboad when your hips are shot.
Comfortable and reliable .
Long distance? did 4000 mile tour around the UK on a HONDA 50 in the 70s.
Touring is just a word for looking around any bike can do it unless you want to clock up the point A too B miles quickly and are not interest in your surroundings
Thanks for the comment. I agree it can be a bike for anyone no matter the experience. Im not sure if i will ever get rod of the thing
I got a 07 900 Vulcan Custom after 40 years of not riding. It's a nice bike!
I have this exact model, my first bike (obtained the licence 2 months ago). Great starter bike afaict.
You got that bike for a steal! I paid $6000 for my 2009 back in 2012. Bike had 500 miles on it.
I own a 2009 VN900. Being a 5'4 short guy, i'm very happy with it!
Its great bike. Being in a cold state i just wish i had more time to ride.
Bought one brand new today. Hurt my sack about 15 times learning the clutch. But so worth it.
It is a bit of a strange clutch. I love the bike though. So comfy once you get it though
Once u ride the 900 u will fall in love ,there's no better bike 4 the money.
I ride a 07 Vulcan 900 and I love it.
Have you put an exhaust on it?
Nice looking bike.. Vulcans never disappoint. Still have a 1999 800 classic Will keep it as long as possible.... May treat myself to a newer one in ths spring. Ride safe.
i go back and forth on the VN900. I got a ZX1000 and a zx10r . The N1k is such an amazing sport touring bike its hard to move to a big V twin or medium
I just got a 2019 so excited!!!
How has it been?!
I just bought a 2019 as well. Have fun!
@@mntwofiveohh3787 It is a great motorcycle , smoth and comfortable ride , also a nice ride at freeway speeds
I just got 2019 today. I am excited but dont know how to ride a bike yet lol
Absolutely! I think somebody just getting into motorcycles can hop on and learn no problem. The nice thing about twin engines is they dont have too much bite. The torque is still down low in the rev ranges making it a fun bike you wont get bored of
I'm looking for my first bike in 30 years.... The Vulcan 900 and 650S are my two contenders. Iike the lower maintenance of the 900 belt drive. Not sure I'd add a sport bike, if I had the wherewithal. I'd consider a small bobber for an in-town run-about.
The thing i like about the vulcan 900 over the vulcan s is the sound. The vulcan s uses a 650 parallel twin where the 900 uses a more cruiser traditional v twin. To be honest both probably perform about the same. V twins are terribly under powered compared to their displacement.
This model had only 35kw between the years of 2013-2014, great that it still feels powerful enough!
there are a few video of guys doing long hauls on these. it way better than the sportser with a similar cc and people do cross-county on those all the time.
Great color combination! I have the 2015. Great bike.
no highway speed shudder, and if so, what mph? whats remedy front /back or both pulleys replacement- vid please? thanks
I've never even sat on a cruiser but going by cycle-ergo.com they all (except a few power cruisers) offer a straight up and down body position which results in back pain for me after about 30 minutes, so I don't think I'll ever get one.
Could you maybe put on a different set of bars to change your body position?
@@mntwofiveohh3787 I don't know but I'm going with a Ninja 1000 instead.
what kind of tools do you keep in the forks leather bag for the classic? tools to take battery out, i m curious, thanks!
I have my owners manual and just keep things like sunglasses and any other things id normally put in a backpack. My tool kit fits under my seat. Screw driver, spaner, and other wrenches
@@mntwofiveohh3787 SO WHERE can i find one for our bike cheap, like new besides ebay/craigs...aftermarket place, and what am i expecting to pay?
I was seriously looking at one of these a couple of weeks ago. 2010 model, 10k on the clock and was in immaculate condition. But passed it up due to this damn Covid19 - job security thing. Wished I'd gone ahead with it now though.
You should get one. It’s really a comfortable and great bike! Im no finnacial advisor but a little time on two wheels makes this crap year just a lil better
How much hp dose a 1100cc Honda have
hi men thanks great job and superb bick so i have a question for you so i'm 6.3 foot i have a bit long knease so ou thinks that i'll fit on this kawasaki ?
I think so. I am shorter but it has pretty forward floor board and foot controls.
I'm 6'5 and the Vulcan is one of the best fitting cruisers in my opinion.
The vulcan and boulevard line are great for tall riders.
I’d get a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT
The Classic LT also gives you a passenger sissy bar/backrest
Also, I'm a "Harley bro" as you call it (have a 2018 Street Glide) but still enjoy riding my '13 Vulcan 900 LT. Profiling sucks.
I apologize. Didnt mean any disrespect. Each ride has its joys. Between my vulcan and zh2 they each have their ups and downs.
Damn these bikes are like $4k right now where I live! Pittsburgh Pa
Ni
ce byc bro haw tall are u ? so i'm 6.3 foot you think that i'll fit on it ? i'm little bit lost betwene this volcan and the yamaha Vstar 950 cc thanks for replying bro
Im 5 10 but this bike has more forward controls so i think you would be fine. The seat is super wide and the bars have a great reach. Id find one at a dealership and go sit on it. If not i dont think you can go wrong
@@mntwofiveohh3787 thanks alot brooo
Was a good review, but I wish I could hear the thing start up and run over the intro music and all the talking.
I will work on that for future videos. I appreciate the feedback
Did he say he paid $2700.00 dollars and has only 1300 miles and it's a 2013. Wow u at this bike man wow nice bro
Interesting, Like you, I like different types of bikes, I'll have to give one of these a test ride, and yes i would and will someday add a cruiser, type yet, don't know
Its been great! In no way is it as fast as my z or even close But the vulcan is loud and super comfy.
nice job, I subscribed, so how do you get the white wall so white (vid please), back isnt as so.
Ill make a vid on bike maintenance and go through it. They are pretty dirty currently
Thinking about trading my 2019 Kawasaki z400 for a Vulcan 900 classic..any thoughts on this would be appreciated
Two different style of bikes but you will definitely appreciate the rumble and comfortable nature of the vulcan. Personally I have the vulcan and a z1000. One bike for cruising and another for sport riding. It really comes down to what you want out of the ride
I’m probably going to get a 900 classic here soon. Gonna put some black mini apes on it. The standard bars are ugly and awkward
You should send a pic once you do it. Im curious to see what that looks like?
Love my 900
What is your favorite thing about yours?
Love the way it Handel's
How long did it take you to find that one? I want the exact same bike (color scheme) but it doesn't seem that it exists in my area or people aren't giving them up, haha. Nice bike!!
It kind of fell into my lap at a local dealer. Its beautiful color
I have one exact same for sale if you interested
@@bt5168 I just bought a 2017 classic about a week ago. Its the black/grey paint scheme. Thanks though
Starter bike? I've owned 4 other bikes. Started honda 500. Then kz750, then harley soft tail, then yamaha virago 1100. Kz vulcan lt 900 beginner? Most comfortable bike I've ever owned, ill grow old on it!
Is it comfy for a cross country tour?
@@mitchellm90 I put a honey comb jell pad I bought on ebay, pulled back the leather put it under the leather, re-rivited it, and its the most comfortable seat on ANY motorcycle! Customize your bike, mines tricked out
@@TheTriplelman Interesting. I wouldn't think that would be thick enough. Good to know. Thanks.
I also purchased my bike from St. Paul Harley: honda rebel 500. If I were to add another bike I'd get a Honda Fury
Thats awesome! How was you experience.
If I were to get a cruiser, I'd either get and Indian chieftain or Honda fury in blue.
Both excellent choices. If i was to have about 10k i woulda went for one of the new scouts.
@@mntwofiveohh3787 yeah, the scouts are fun little bikes. I test rode a scout bobber, and had a blast!
I've been riding since 1969 including harley, and prefer the wifes 900 vulcan.
Nice
The older the better colors are. New combinations are horrible. At least they should sell black ones all years
$2700, whoa--where's my Harley dealer?!
I’m telling you.. they are trying to turn this Japanese bikes
Isn’t that the 2019?
The titel says its a 2013 . The bike has remained largely unchanged for years
Yea I saw what the title says I was just confused do to the fact that it looks almost EXACTLY like the 2019 model
That color only came in 2013
Indian scout is the best cruiser
For me my next cruiser will be a scout or a vrod. Vrod is more of a muscle bike though
5:34 Vlogging on a bike is dangerous ... do you see yourself in the wrong lane?
I would NEVER have a conversation while riding.
It can be distracting at times. And being on two wheels talking is even more dangerous.
Looking at the video i didnt see me cross the lines but i suppose it could happen
@@mntwofiveohh3787 I think he is saying you were driving way slower than other traffic while in the left lane. Like people talking on their cell phones do.
wheres the white wall tire cleaning vid??? hehe, kawasaki should repo their bike back from you, riding with a filthy rear tire like that...lol
Shes pretty nasty.
I'd say Suzuki m50/c50t
Thats a nice bike. I have buddy who just bought one. Hes customizing it and doing a full front fairing
