    I have a 900 custom and imo, its great bike overall. Its fairly light, easy to operate, dependable, smooth and comfortable to ride and gets great fuel mileage. If you like cruisers, its easy to look and reasonably priced. Imo, its geared too low for long trips on the interstate. Anything below indicated 70mph is fine. After that, it starts screaming and starts vibrating. If you ride double, you might look at something larger unless short trips.

    • @MaxiScooterGuy
      @MaxiScooterGuy  2 роки тому

      👍You are right and I wish I had known about the gearing long before buying the Vulcano. It is indeed a 🔑 boulevard-cruiser best suited for city streets and short highway runs.

      @@MaxiScooterGuy Well, I should have added that if 2 lane roads ( best choice, imo) are taken, I think the Vulcan 900 is the best bike for the buck. Mine has been from Colorado springs to Glacier N.Park 2 lane roads when possible, and the bike did absolutely Great.

WTF happened ?) I think a bagger type cruiser is the logical move and I've had my eye on the Vulcan for a LONG time because it's perfect in so many ways.

    Thorough explanation of facts and what you were thinking when you made this purchase.
    You can add to your list my 07 Vulcan Classic LT with 77,000 miles and 3 offroad mishaps (WRECKS! HAHA) and the bike just keeps going.
    Revs may appear high at 75+mph but the engine was designed to rev high like that. You will hit aerodynamic drag limitations at 115mph WAY WAY before you hit redline in 5th gear.
    That being said, i find myself wishing for more power and gears a lot of the time.

    I mostly love my Vulcan 900C. The only thing I don't like is when my city decides to tear up and repave a perfectly good road and I just roll up on that road unaware. The narrow front tire makes for an ass-clenching ride. The bike feels like it's trying to throw you off. On decent roads it makes for a great ride.

    Actually, if I am not mistaken... the widest factory rear wheel for a mid size cruiser would be The Yamaha Stryker 11'-17'. The stock rear wheel on the Stryker is 210/40/18 and the stock rim can fit a 240/40/18 without mods. Some people even go 250 on it!! I own a 2015 Stryker Bullet cowl and before buying it I was looking at the 2019 Vulcan 900 Custom. But the Stryker as been on my top 3 bikes since 2011, the other two being Harley's and out of my price budget. So drove down to Nova Scotia to buy my dream 15' Stryker Camo Green... I think my only complaint it the clunky gear box, but its a Yamaha! The rest is reliable as hell. My bullet cowl was the only one in green for sale used in Canada at the time I purchased it. And my biggest complaint on the Vulcan is the rear wheel. I hate the fact that Kawasaki went with a 15" and installed an ugly & cheap looking rear rim... It looks like an old full steel car wheel. For the extra few bucks they could have gotten a nicer 18" and give this bike the killer look it deserves. Check out mean cycles, they have an upgraded kit for the Vulcan with a 18" @ 240 rear wheel... it just opens up that rear end and looks badass!! That OEM rear wheel was one of my big turn off points.... and its a shame because the rest of the bike looks fantastic!! Good video!

    At nearly 600lbs I would hardly call the Vulcan a light weight bike! I have an 07 custom with the Mustang seat and its too high and I'm 6'2" always hitting the seat with my foot when mounting.

    • @MaxiScooterGuy
      @MaxiScooterGuy  6 років тому

      Thanks for the comment, I agree, some might interpret elements on this motorcycle differently. Totally subjective to the individual experience. I made the comment about it being a lightweight motorcycle when compared to other cruisers within the Vulcan 900 line-up, namely the fully loaded classic and classic lt, the custom weighs in as the lightest of all three at 611 lbs.
      Getting on and off this bike has never posed any problem for me. I'm 1.83m tall, weigh 88kg with an leg inseam of .86m (6ft tall, 195 lbs and 34" inseam) and I'm a martial arts practitioner, with strong legs capable of clearing over the seat height with great ease.
      Everyone's experience is subjective. I stayed as neutral as possible without being bias in my explanation, or did you find me trying to "push" people toward purchasing this motorcycle? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

    question for the committee...how does the vulcan 900 compare to the vulcan S on the highway? I love the looks of both, but, I'm thinking the 900 may be the smoother bike to cruise all day long on. Anyone with enough miles on both to offer an opinion on that?

    I was disappointed with the gearing and the dogged out commiefonia set up ( small pipes small air cleaner inlet tuned down fuel management) .
    I put on both front and rear pulley and a 200 rear tire . Now she's more than 10% over stock final drive ratio ( she shows 10mph under actual speed ). Bigger pipes bigger air cleaner and fuel management
    Now she flys and sounds good ! But she could use 1 more gear !
    The only thing this bike won't satisfy is the need to have a harley !
    This bike is 600 lbs some one said the equivalent harley is 900 lbs ?
    The seat is lower than the stock harley soft tail .
    Very smooth with the 200 rear tire you can put this bike anywhere in the lane even on farley rutted up road) that threw me all over with the stock tire) !
    Love this bike !
    If harley would've given me the same deal i would have got the harley
    The dealer put it on a credit card and let me ride away after new bike prep ! $ 10,000 signature loan how about that shit !!! They didnt even make me have full coverage insurance . I did get the minimum insurance on my own .
    30,000 miles the only thing that has broken on this bike I broke .
    It also killed a deer that tried to kill me for killing and eating many of his brothers .
    Fixed her !! Shes still running strong ! Just went from commifornia to the Canadian boarder ( didn't cross I don't go where Americans ain't allowed ) with my son-inlaw and his dad on there new 1100 Indians . They were on the last leg of their boarder to boarder trip . Talk about a motorcycle suppository!!!

I suggest you get out and try a few different bikes, if after all that you do decide to buy the Kawa. You should be able to enjoy it for years to come.
      Positive Vibes, Cheers!

    Most cruiser bikes with a radiater also use air cooling.......and on the 900 if you don't use good oil it will will run extremely hot......that goes for Kawasaki 1700 also......basically any bike, so just because you want good oil in your bike doesn't mean the shop is going to put it in.....do it yourself
    Based on title....an 883 is more versatile, in fact any Harley is more versatile than any other brand of the same type of bike.....anything you could possibly dream up, somebody else has also and it is made to fit a Harley......all other bikes are limited including the 900 Custom
    Memphise shades drop-top windshield is better than anything else you can put on, the dark shade looks better than anything else
    You clearly have never used ape hangers, when you have the bars so that your arms are straight out it is far more comfortable than reaching down
    I'd like to see a double rear disk brake
    The 180 rear is for looks only, according to the people that know....the wider tire is less curvy than a narrow tire....except I went from a 210 to 240 and handling got better
    Wider tire certainly does take away from power and 900cc doesn't need to lose any power
    I would do another 883 before another 900, and I'd rather have a Bolt

      It’s all about preference. I’ve got a 900 and my wife has a 883 and when we go riding she always wants to switch bikes cause mine is more fun. I love em both honestly

      Harley fanboy, we can tell. Harley suck. Big, heavy, gutless, and on life support, and no-one will miss them.
      Double rear disc brake? Do you even ride???

      Thanks for the question. I can't tell you if this bike is the right fit for you, but, what I can suggest is for you to head down to a dealership and sit on the bike. Hope you find something that fits you!

    What windscreen do you have on the vulcan?

    • @MaxiScooterGuy
      @MaxiScooterGuy  6 років тому +1

      Hey Nick thanks for the question. The windshield is a Custom World Adjustable Windshield, 15" (Tinted). It does a great job of taking the wind off and out of the chest area. I also catches a lot of the bugs. It's worth it's weight in gold.

      I have an 09 custom bout it 1 year ago next month with it only having 900 miles, and the previous owner already chromed the wheels and added cobra pipe and had barons lowering link so I got pretty lucky and got it for a good price

    • @MaxiScooterGuy
      @MaxiScooterGuy  6 років тому +1

      I hear that!. I ,too, got pretty lucky when i scored my bike, differently, from you fortune. The previous owner equipped the bike with
      A. RoadKrome saddlebag kits (Bags and Mounting hardware) that costed 1,500$,
      B. 2 high quality riding jackets with armor,
      C. 2 helmets (Never used them).
      D. floorboards,
      E. an oem kawasaki Sissybar back rest and lower mounting bars,
      F. oem kawasaki luggage rack,
      G. a Faco top case,
      H. Chromeworld windshield,
      I. 2 bike covers,
      J. His wife's size small leather gloves,
      K. the bike was wired with optimate charging cable.
      L. Tank Bag
      That was his last bike. He was giving up the lifestyle. I think he was 78y/o.
      We all get lucky from time to time I suppose, wouldn't your agree? Where are you from ?
