i tend to disagree with this argument used by the permaculture movement, mainly because I have seen practices very similar in traditional communities throughout Europe. However these communities tend to be away from structures of economical power, therefore i always concluded that is a question of economic mindset, plantation economy vs baldios (Portuguese community land management)
