I cannot find the setting for S-Cinetone on Sony FX-6. Where is it??? Every “expert” keeps talking about it but NOBODY tells you WHERE to find it in the menu!!
In my Sony A7Siii S-Cinetone gives a little green tint on the skin so I am using +2 on Color Phase to have a little better skin color. Does anyone else noticed this? Any input why I should not increase to +2 to color phase?
when I switch my settings to SDR it still shows s log 3 no s- Cinetone. how do I turn on s-cinetone? I would really like to use it but cannot find any info how to turn it on
I believe AC’s recommendations for skin tone in s-log3Cine was around this at 61IRE, this co-incidentally is also about good start for s-cinetone with whites at 90IRE. Although technically this is overexposing from Sony’s recommended 41IRE, S-log3C being log allows for it to be graded down in post to reduce any noise in the blacks and preserve lower level exposure.
Thanks, great info. But did I hear you say the S-Cinetone is more suited for video-production(2.09) than for movie production and later on you said S-Cinetone has a cinema looking picture far from the typical video look? If I was going to buy the fx9 it would be for short films and even movies. Right now I work with my Fs5.
A lot of times, when someone shows an example of what is supposed to be good skin tones out of a Sony Alpha - the actors look green to me. What am I missing?

When you say expose skin tones at 70 percent 60 percent ect. How do you know what percent you are at? Is there a meter in your camera or something?
I got the FX6 two weeks ago and love S cinetone
