- This explains so much about southern drivers!
It's a Southern Thing started out as the sketch comedy team for This is Alabama.
Now they have their own page which you can visit here: / itsasouthernthing
This truck ain't allergic to grass.. My thoughts exactly
My dad used to tell me “back up till you hear glass then stop. That’s far enough”
Mine told me about the same thing. Except it goes, "Back up til you hear glass or smell blood, then hit the brakes."
Lucky Mama My driver ed teacher said the same
You forgot one thing...no cop no stop!
haha my southern dad laughs hysterically every time my step mom uses her turn signal... she gets so mad
People who don't use turn signals are rude - just sayin'...bless HIS heart.
cayden no seriously that’s my daddy omg
I lived for several years in Arkansas and Alabama, this explains so much.
I'm from Arkansas and we may be olite on foot but we are hell on the road.
I started driving at 13 on back roads with my grandma and by the time I was 15 driving was like second nature
I'm from Ohio. Drove to Florida. Once you hit Florida it's like Daytona down there.
The knee thing is the truest thing I’ve ever heard
So true! Besides texting, it also applies to eating your chicken sandwich and waffle fries after you go through the Chick-fil-A drive through.
This is how people in Florida drive I SWEAR, dont NOBODY use their turn signals. Yall always J-walking and they WILL NOT stop
Ah, Florida...the class clown of America!
Or they leave ‘em on for miles!
This is accurate. As an Alabamian, this is 100% accurate.
I'm learning to drive, thanks for the tips y'all!!
Usin' the turn signal? What are ya some kind of nerd?
Where I live, turn signals are a sign of weakness. Men NEVER use their signals, because that would be a form of communication and they do NOT want to be caught doing that!
Well I have found the opposite to be true. Compared to Chicago, Alabama drivers are sane and polite.
@David Hoffman, honey your comment is 3 yrs old. Ya ain't been in Bama for a while now. Things have changed. For the "worser." lol
I'm not sure about this. I'm from Mississippi and folks there aren't anyway agressive when they drive. No one honks if a car sits at green for a bit, even in Jackson. Folks are mostly very polite on the road. If two vehicles get to a 4 way stop at the same time often they'll sit there forever both waving the other to go ahead. Maybe this video is how they drive in Yankeefied places like Atlanta or Nashville.
Robert Kyril Jordan lol I have family in Jackson, they came up to Mo for a visit and while here I drove us to a comedy show in STL. They were blown away by how rude drivers were. One said boy, y'all know how to use those horns... lol you have to admit though, Mississippi drivers drive super fast. I feel like I jumped on a race track when I'm down there lol
@@doesntmatter7788 yeah I go to stl, my parents are from there, and oh my gosh the drivers are rude! I’ve seen cars with no wheels driving on the highway there! 😂😅
Their in Alabama which isn't a surprise because I live in Columbus GA which is on the Georgia/Alabama state line and it seems like everyone I see with an Alabama license plate is a terrible driver
Down in the Florida Panhandle, we just look at the tag and say, "That's explains it- Alabama. "
@ Lady Bee, Sad but soooooo true!!
😱😳
I live in Columbus GA which is on the Georgia/Alabama state line and it seems like everyone I see with an Alabama license plate is a terrible driver
My mama is a northerner, and my dad is a southerner. My dad has no accent, until my mama drives. Btw y’all, this is EXACTLY how my dad drives.
This truck ain’t allergic to grass 😂
Landon Lawing Neither is my car😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Southerners will fit in well driving in Malaysia
This is actually incredibly accurate.
Whenever my mother visits her friends in the South, she equates the driving to that of where we lived in Russia.
whoa! that is saying something! i have seen the youtube videos of Russian drivers and that is definitely saying something
@@loyevangelists In Russia the further south the more aggressive driving, especially in the Caucasus. A common way to get a driver's license is through a bribe. 20 years ago, getting a driver's license through a bribe was the only way in places.
I love his signature 👍
I am married to an Alabamian man and I am from Indonesia. This got me laughing 😝
I remember many years ago, my Granny did a U turn across the median as we were driving down the interstate.
Omg really that's amazing
She must be a professional in driving 🚘
It's took me months to do that
That was great 😂😂😂🥳
In NC they start the signal a half mile before the turn, and break a quarter mile early too.
Very funny!
My fiancee parks like that. :'D
Do you know how to drive?
Gt Video, Good Information
this would be me if i was teaching someone how to drive lol
Dang right this is Alabama!
🤣🤣🤣 this feels so true
I didn't know It's A Southern Thing started out as a sketch team for this channel?!
Best part was the ending... perfect..
Or the beginning, when he makes as if to put on his seatbelt and then doesn't.
This made me laugh out loud😂
What freaked me out in North Carolina is the cars that had a piece of cardboard in the back window that read "License Plate Stolen" and the owner was still driving the car on the street!! That would NEVER FLY in New York State and you'd be pulled over by at least 90 cops even from neighboring counties to give you a ticket here!!!
Another thing that I found weird in North Carolina was, how many cars were still driving around with the windshield completely smashed too!! Again in New York State you wouldn't make it ten feet out of your driveway if you had a windshield that looked like that, but I seen taxi cabs in North Carolina like this that were still in service, and even got picked up by a couple while I was living down there!!
Lastly the most weird thing I had ever seen was cars that were on the road and missing "major parts" like in one case I saw an older Cadillac with NO rear bumper, tail lights and the license plate was screwed fast to the truck lid! The clear light bulbs were still hanging out of the rear of the car, but again here in New York that would have been a ticket for "bad lights" but this guy was driving this same car around like it was "no big deal" literally for months like this!! On another car I was getting ready to make a left turn when another car was coming up the street towards me in the opposite direction and that is when I noticed there WAS NOT a front bumper, headlights, turn signals, a grille or ANYTHING below the hood on the front of the car!!! Again you'd have every cop in the known universe on you if that car was on the street in New York.....but in North Carolina that was "normal"!!!
And don't get me wrong I am NOT complaining mind you, I just found it very odd!! You see I was raised in Ithaca New York (Home of Cornell University) and up here you can literally see in one side of a car through the trunk and out the other side of it, and that is "normal" for some cars up here due to rust!!! But in North Carolina a "rusted out vehicle" has "faded paint on it" and somehow that is "a rust old car" when there isn't a lick of real rust anywhere on the car!!! Used to make me giggle when an owner would tell me "I am sellin' it because its rusted out!", and I wouldn't say word...because in New York those cars would be "mint"!
As a southerner you BETTER USE YOUR TURNING SIGNALS
CKat unless you're in Florida
Completely accurate 😮
Sounds bout right.
When u see a Georgia driver in south carolina
When you see an Alabama driver in Georgia
This is hilarious!!
OMG I finally found part 1!
NOW THIS is what the internet for damn it!
Southerners know how to drive by age 10.
0:31 Railroad Tracks To the Left , My Favorlatte in fact , they're like always next to that same track ;-;
Heck yeah!!! I see nothing wrong here.😂
It’s no wonder I went completely grey driving cross country truck!
😆funneyist video ever!
Driving instruction in Montana: Ok can you make a U turn? "No but I can sure make her eyes bug out."
Yep. And proud it.
i from Arkansas , i swear that was my daddy in the car ,he taught me on how to drive when i was 16 years old ,and that dude in the car sounded like my daddy ,i also remember i wish i had my Mother showing me how to drive instead of my dad mainly cause he was very impatient
I HAVE been known to reach over and honk the horn and yell "Where did you learn to drive, idiot?"
This is legit how ma taught me how to drive, thank god for my grandfather WHO ACTUALLY KNEW THE ROAD RULEZ for correcting me every time I messed up.
Is this a mockery of It's a Southern Thing?
Hi! It's a Southern Thing started as the sketch comedy team for This is Alabama, so there's a little bit of crossover here and there. The This is Alabama and It's a Southern Thing teams all work together for the same company. Small world! Glad you're watching both. :D
This Is Alabama - Oh, Okay I thougnt you might have been stealing the ideas of It's a Southern Thing. Thanks!
sounds more like New England
That's hilarious
I learned how to drive by driving to pick up behind the tractor halfway across the state
More like New Yorkers and I’m from Connecticut so I’d know.I’ve driven down your way and you know how to drive much better! It mostly has to do with how populated an area is.
ahahaha love florida man
"Honk it!!!!"😂
lol love it.
Yeah
Do you know how to drive?
I’m a truck driver. In Alabama, truck lane is where we past the slow ass cars. Click Alabama driver on my channel.
blackericdenice
How far down you have a lot of videos. Can you put a link?
ua-cam.com/video/CiFtnkjNJsg/v-deo.html
Should have added driving slow in left lane
Dylan Roach That's Atlanta and Albuquerque. Had 5 people tailgating this one person driving slow in Albuquerque in the fast lane one day. Drive by them with my window open waving at them. They finally decided to get in the other lane to pass the slow driver. 😂😂
I was falling asleep and then
"WHERED YOU LEARN TO DRIVE IDIOT!"
very true
I like how the teacher doesn’t have the safety belt on.
Obviously not South Florida, at 0:20. She would have had the turn signal on the entire time!
Hate to burst anybody's bubble. But being from the South and living in California. These folks are forever honking their horn and drive like they are on fire. Back home I have gone a year with hearing a horn. Much less hectic.
I’m so upset that this dude isn’t wearing gym shorts, a bucket hat, and carrying a whistle. Heck, I was a grown woman before I realized that not all Driver’s Ed teachers aren’t football coaches. (They aren’t, right)?
My grandpa is from Kansas and is teaching me how to drive similarly to this
☺ That must be a stressful one
How was it?
@@bidziilalex8200 went fine
@@AllieSierdsma good to know
@@AllieSierdsma where are you from?
All true except the stopping at the 4-way stop. Most southerners will sit there until someone else makes a move.
See I’m from Texas and this is how we reckon Yankees learn how to drive
Too true to be funny.
This is Texas all the way lmao
That's me driving.... Jesus I am glad my dad is teaching my kid to drive. LOL
Nashville and Atlanta are the absolute worst!! I’m a truck driver and they are just horrible and disrespectful!!!
Too true
The horn honking and 4-way stop signs contradict the politeness video. 8>)
That instructor must be from up North...
Are you sure that this guy is not from New York or New Jersey? Because that is about how people from those states drive
Omg austin drivers :)
Gotta take a uie
Lmao
I live in Alabama, and this sounds pretty right.
I didn't know that Mid-Westerners went to the South to learn to drive...
Ok
LOL
*shakes head*
drop the tail gate will know when you are geting too close
Well well, now I completely understand. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄😱😵 And watch out for all Alabama tags that start with 52!!! We always mutter, as they try to run us off the highway...."52, yep. There's meth or moonshine in their water."
Dude. Where's the tractor?
even worse in TN!
John Downing I can sure as hell second that
John Downing good i live in Tennessee
omg yes you are right! My dtr lived in Tn for 10 years. we flew from seattle to see her dozens of times and the driving there got worse and worse. I would see COPS TEXTING! Big rigs not use signals. Tail gating is a state past time!
Donna Becker It was just recent that TN out lawed phones while driving
oh dear!!! no wonder....
funny
It' s the way most Arizonians learned to drive too.
so i guess that southern hospitality goes out the window when you are driving. that is no better than northerners whom southerners look down on
It's comedy!
Normally love your videos. Could you not swear, please? We enjoy watching this channel with our kids.
A pickup truck that‘s not a stick shift? Weird.
Bic Lopitakwong That’s a city daughter truck not a country daughter truck!
The south look good
Great
Do you know how to drive?
We do NOT drive like this is South Carolina
the girl is cute
and i thought that people in the north were bad drivers
