That thing is crazy strong! 89oz @ 6v, 99oz @ 7.4v, and 115oz @ 8.4v... also faster. As a comparison, the savox SH-0255mg has 54oz @ 6v. The Savox SH-0350 has 36oz @ 6v. The 0255 is a bit too long i think. And the 0350 is close to the stock size, but is not metal geared. I was going to get the 0350, even though 36oz is good, i want more power, but the 0255 is too long unless i move my bumper out, and the horn and steering link arm would be sticking out a bit. So.... With crazy better power 89oz! And a better size than the savox 0255, I'm definitely going to get one of these. BUT im gonna have to save some money, I'll just put this in my comp crawler scx24.
Thanks for the video! I'm saving for this same servo + mount & horn after my $15 emaxx went out not too long after a lot of upgrades and added weight.. and I especially appreciate the tip about grinding down the top 2 mounting positions--I knew exactly where you were going with that since mine liked to do the same thing and get caught up on the frame rails (and bumper extensions).
@Buy it Break it Fix it I'm thinking to add a thin, flat piece of plastic under the servo. I had already trimmed the mount earlier today. Now I see it. Should try to approximate the depth so, to be able to align the horn. Right? Already purchased aluminum fix link steering rod from HR.
Can’t wait to see the running video 👍 Seems like an expensive replacement, not knocking the servo, it’s very quiet and powerful but at half the price of the whole rtr... Top of the line micro crawler upgrades you got there for sure. All that beautiful brass 🤤
Yeah, you definitely want to be all in on your build for this purchase. I have a number of reefs products and never had any issues with their stuff. Just showing my support.
Yah for like 26$ you can get the little orange savox and it's fine. My friend runs the savox in his c10 and it's not as long as this reef's either so its easier to rig it up.
Appreciate the info, this is the Servo I want to get, got the E Max right now, with the bang RC gear servo mount for the E MaxSo I should be good for the amount, as always appreciate sharing your videos. I enjoy them all, and yes be good to people people be good to you have a great day

Hey bro, thank you for this vid! I ended up installing this reefs using a 3D printed tray from shapeways. Only difference was I needed to mount the linkage from the back to the shoehorn on the servo. Quick question, when driving and turning, the car hops a bit (both left and right). And when completely stopped, I’ll turn all the way to the left and let off and it centers perfect. When turning to the right and letting off, it’ll flick back but stay a little to the right. Is this normal?
The wheels are rc4wd stamped beadlocks. The brass is from ebay. Search for scx24 brass overweights. I also have the brass hex. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Is you friend selling those stands? I'd buy 4 off the bat. I do not have a 3D printer. Thanks. Awesome vid and definitely that servo has all the power needed and then some.
Ok, just heard back from reefs. He said the micro99 will work for the low/high servo and if you want to use it in the other spots(diff lock) spare time hobbies make a mount to do that. Hope that helps.
@@BuyitBreakitFixit that's pretty cool. they will sell a ton if they hold up. The Traxxas Minis are garbage. On one of my TRX4s it gave me trouble from day one. The rear burnt up3x. I gave up on it.
Wow, crazy comment because I think my voice is very mono toned and puts people to sleep. Haha well, that is what the wife says but there could be more going on there. Haha really appreciate the view and the comment.
hahaha well I felt obligated to say somethin cuz I turn to the tube for any help I need when I'm trying to do something or learn somethin and almost all of them are just cringy the way they say "guys" 60 times or like they're terrible news anchors. this time I just needed to know if I could trim my stock mount for my reefs 99 micro for the time being and you gave me exactly what I needed to know without sounding like a weirdo so thank YOU sir.
You can get an AGF micro servo that's basically the same as reefs. Half the price too. Makes me think they just bought rights to put their name on a Chinese servo 🤣
Not sure about rights. As I have said before, to each their own, I personally like Reefs Products and will always stick by them. Might not be the best option for everyone. Just sharing my experience with what I am doing with my rc.

You know theses servo's make one hell of a hectic servo winch design for small compact size areas that can end up towing up to 28 lbs at 8.4 v
Yeah, I have seen people making them into winches. Nice compact design with plenty of power.
Very cool upgrade 👍🏼

Dude take a look at the description on the 444 on the site it now sais waterproof, not a submarine
I know. Haha I talked with Reefs before I did this. He said the same. Funny, servo is still going strong to this day
Thanks for the info Please would you be able to send a link for the HR servo mount Thanks Jo Mid Wales GB
Please give me a day or so. I am currently out on the road traveling for the next day

Wouldn’t the Hot Racing mount for the Emax servo work better with the Reefs?
That mount was not out when this video was made but yes, probably would work better.
How did you trim the ears? Did you use a file or something? Maybe a dremel?
Yep. Dremmel and one of the stones
Man, I have had my SCX24 on back order for like 2 months!. I think its suppose to ship Jun.2. You must of bought yours right off the bat.
Yeah, I did buy it as soon as seen. 🤣 sorry. You will be even happier when you get it.
I went to my lhs instead

Did you have to re locate the esc tray and esc to fit the reefs?
Nope. Just grind the servo mount at the rear.

Does this servo come with a horn? Also is it pretty noisy?
It doew come with a horn and no it is pretty quiet. Very strong too.
This is an off topic question. What would you prefer. A 1/16 e revo vxl or a rustler 4x4 vxl?
Probably a rustler 4x4.

No problem.
will these work in the TRX4 as lockers.. mine always fail.
Not sure. I have contacted Reefs and am awaiting a reply. I will update you
