You know i not much of a gibson guy BUT oh my lord if there is a top shelf that is way above it yes A MONSTER
Did you do an HP review?
hey Trogly's would you make a rock or not from the telecaster from evangelion ? twitter.com/somoskudasai/status/1254915721160724486
Trogly's , check please Harley Benton guitars.
damnit i shoulda used your code for when i bought my electron green FSR strat the other day XD
I like how he just goes "my buddy in the band Three Doors Down" like that's not gonna pique anyone's interest
Yeah wtf, said it like he was talking about his high school buddy's garage band.
I read that right when he said it lmao
John, they were one of the groups that played at the most recent US Presidential inauguration ceremony (Jan. 2017). I saw them when they opened for Skynyrd forever ago.
@@braeden9350 They've been around for 20 years and when you deal in music equipment, you meet people.
@@mubodude yes... and HUGE
That is the prettiest Les Paul I've ever seen. It looks like a giant piece of candy.
Unfortunately it is a Gibson so the quality is probably shit.
@@shanewalton8888 Did you watch the video?
@@shanewalton8888 Get a grip.
I don't go for the 'perfect repro of a 59...' but that is a pretty guitar
@@cydonia9342 Yes. Hardly objective.
It should be called “Jupiter burst”. Cause that amazing top, in the close ups, looks just like the clouds of Jupiter. Quite stunning
Woah Troglys not posting at 2am? Sweeet! I’d be up regardless haha.
Elik Jazdzewski yeah lol
I'm smilling in french right now
Wish I would have known that lol. It’s 2am now, I would have came earlier lol
Haha
Now THIS is a Trogly episode!! Austin & a Les Paul.
Austin, this has to be one of the most beautiful guitars you have reviewed.
STUNNING top on that '59! It shocks me that Gibson would ever use a linear-taper potentiometer in an audio application.
I’m friends with the previous owner of this guitar and it is absolutely stunning in person. Looks great in the video but DAYUM what a top! We had a fun day shooting out several R’s, a conversion and even an Epiphone with Centralabs, Bees, and Pat No’s. This guitar stood out though easily as the best looking 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
That's awesome I've never even seen a guitar of this caliber in person
I love how into detail you go when documenting guitars. You are my favorite guitar channel. It's like my happy channel.
Glad your keeping the guitar dissection and analysis in the review mix. Thx Trog !
It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve seen a Trogly Les Paul. That is the most beautiful Les Paul Top I have ever seen
Helping maintain sanity during trying times. Daily videos from Trogly keep me on an even keel. Thanks Brother!
That is a real work of art. Honestly, that's a keeper.
I have watched your shows for a couple of years now and absolutely love them (even though I'm a bass player). It's a great informative show and you present the show brilliantly. The thing that I like best is your improvement as a guitarist, when I started watching you were competent, now you are fantastic! Keep up the good work and keep on rocking!
Your tone and playing have improved SERIOUSLY - and the pickups on this sound fantastic
"I can hear the glue bro". Come on
Titebond is superior to hide glue. If your Gibson headstock breaks it can, and often is, repaired with the equivalent to Elmers wood glue.
According to sources, they did NOT use hide glue in 1959.... And the source has proof. :-)
Absolutely correct on Gibsons year in 2019, they seemed to actually get their act together with the original and modern collection as well as QC. So much so that I finally bought a 50's standard.
3:20 I think the jargon confusion kicks in here
Potting pickups then talks about Potentiometers.
May as well roll a joint and smoke one.
That finish is killer. The flame is really flamed.
Ha Ha yeah I had a 97 Historic R9 that I could just stare at for quite a while when I was feeling good lol so to speak
That’s a breathtaking burst. Gorgeous
Fantastic guitar. I'd agree with you, that's literally the nicest top I've ever seen on a LP. That is definitely a keeper! God bless and rock on.
A beauty for the eyes and the ears. Your playing is just getting better and better Austin. Well done 👍😃
You can take the guitar out of 'nam, but the memories remain.
The pickups seriously sound absolutely fantastic ...
Absolutely beautiful top! The finish is EXACTLY what I would love for a “burst” Les Paul. I would do anything for a 59 reissue
That was some awesome playing during the Demo.
Nice Job!!!!
One of the most beautiful LP's I've ever seen! Wowzers.. 😍
I like that intro music. Makes me feel calm. Another night. Another Troglys. All is well with the world.
Outstanding Top. Great sounding, too! Gone before I could even think about it!
This sounds amazing with distortion. A lot of clarity in the bridge position.
That's beautiful, top 3 Gibson LP I've seen for looks, the paint job is a piece of art
Have been living in Nashville since 2007 and buying and selling Gibsons the whole time and I have come across a great many interesting and beautiful guitars in the area. I can say that 2019 as the new beginning so to speak has been fantastic for Gibson as a brand and for players and collectors everywhere. The NAMM show Les Paul featured is absolutely exemplary of what a Les Paul should be, and what Gibson is capable of. Congratulations to the new owner, and thank you Austin for your great show and all you do, I really enjoy your channel.
Outstanding man. loved that teardown!
THAT is perfect les paul! Specs, sound and look, all! Oh man.
I have watched more than 100 of your videos, this is your BEST guitar, its absolutely beautiful.
Holy Crap!! That is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen----!! and Trogly's playing was extra inspired by it for sure!! ---best video ever!!
Bought one of these 2019 factory burst 1959 models. One of the best sounding guitars ever! This namm show guitar is amazing. new owner will love. This guitar was made to be played so play it new owner! !
What a beast, the OD section sounds amazing
great playing demo trogly. what a beast guitar. you really are getting a lot better.
Your attention to detail is amazing
Gorgeous color and flame top! Nice!
"Flame top, flame top, flame, top." You hear that and see that so often over the years, and then here in this case it REALLY LOOKS LIKE FLAME. That has to be about the best looking wood and finish you could ever see on a guitar. Just incredible.
It’s so beautiful I have a tear in my eye
Nice guitar Austin. By the way your playing has improved greatly. Thanks for the review. Keep the family safe. Peace!
That figure is just awesome man. I would LOVE to own this one!
There's no arguing about the sound - that thing is a killer !
The playing was really good man! The fender amp definitely is an improvement on cleans too. Keep it up!
Not a Gibson fan, but that is definitely a stunning top.
Fender guy?
@@kaitodesire There are a lot of alternatives besides Fender ! LoL
@@jameschristiantaylor123 Competition is good for both of them. Someone once said that the best thing that ever happened to Coca-Cola was Pepsi-Cola!
I’m a Rickenbacker guy
love the snappy note attack at the 20 minute mark,
I've never seen a such beauty top.. Amazing
Just woke up from a nap where I had the wierdest dream. I was at Austin's house during a filming of the Trogly's Guitar Show except that now it was on Cable T.V. (think he still did the UA-cam thing tho). Then I got to meet Austin on the set of the show. He showed me around some and let me check out these big, gold framed Elvis glasses with a little camera in the middle he used for filming the P.O.V. shots so he could keep his hands free. Then I woke up... My computer still in my lap with this page open. Maybe I shouldn't Trogly before bed anymore??
Lord that feedbacks something nice
Wow. Finally a gibson I'm actually impressed with
Why are you here?
That is freaking sick....I grabbed a reg 2019 HCS Standard Absolutely love it
That is THE most beautiful Les Paul I've ever seen and I managed 4 music stores and have owned 25-30 Bursts!
Nice to see that Gibson went back to normal electronics in the cavity.
Great review as usual, these are my favorites:)
Since seeing your 'how I do it' video, I appreciate the work that goes into each episode of your posts even more than I previously did. Have you ever had a video de-monitized or pulled due to playing a few too many notes from a recognized song during your sound demos ?
“A little bit of green but like a boll-ion goldness to them ...” Love your descriptions Austin! 12:30
The color of the top reminds me of the Brock-Dapra Burst.
Good lord that guitar is gorgeous... 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The top grain and colouring is very beautiful.
In response to your previous video.. I’m sorry people click off during the breakdown segments. I truly enjoy watching you take the pickups out and showing us the guitars in high detail. It’s still your time but I know you like to document thoroughly too so do what you need to do!
That top is on fire. Guilted flame.
I just recently purchased a 59 custom shop VOS model I have not torn into it but this has to be one of my all-time favorite episodes Next time I change strings I’m going to look inside of mine and compare what I find
Wow!! What a beautiful guitar!! Holy hell!!
rock and ramble on trogly! sounds killer!
That Green Lemon Burst was soooo dope.
A real beauty; sounded great, too.
Man that top is just insane
The Cherry Tea Burst is a nice finish, along with the Southern Fade. 🎸
The guitar is beauty but I’m most impressed by the sounds man! Great playing!
Man the thing that gets me is how almost every single guitar you review will end in a rich old man’s collection not to be played. What’s the purpose of creating this masterpieces apart from being “conversation subjects” ?
Sad right?
Just want to let you know that you’re wrong. First of all, this model isn’t that expensive (compared to other collectable guitars), rich people play their guitars too, and this guitar will be around for centuries, who knows how many people’s hands it will have gone through by then. Even Peter Green’s guitar is still being gigged. Besides, you don’t have to be ‘old’ or ‘rich’ to collect guitars.
Also, how many high-profile/professional/serious guitar players do you see playing cheap guitars? Not many
edit; notice i didn't say "none."
I can assure you that there are still plenty of *genuine* 58/59’s being played to this day by their owners.
@@Iheartdgd Joe bonnamassa
I may be older, but not exactly rich and I bought a 60th R9 and I play the shit out of it. These are fantastic players and sound phenomenal, just have to learn to control the feedback with the unpotted PAFs. Worth the scratch, save up youngsters. Something to work for.
I really wish I had known about how to get in touch about purchasing this off you. Whoever got this is very fortunate.
That's is an amazing looking Les Paul and the Custom Buckers have such a lively warm tone to them.thanks for an awesome review.
Wow, this pickups sound INCREDIBLE!!! Probably the beast high gain tone I’ve heard in your videos, and I try to watch every single one! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 you’re the best! 🤘🏻 question, if I were to want to get some gold knobs and truss rod cover like these, where would you source them? I hope you find time in your busy Schedule to answer, but I understand! Thank you so much regardless!! I learn so much from you
I love these so much.
What a beautiful example of the most easily recognizeable guitar. My grail is a R9 in dirty lemon. I just love the look of it.
Not only is this guitar beautiful, it actually sounds amazing. I'm usually not a fan of the middle position on Les Pauls but this thing sounded crazy good.
Because the bridge pup is usually hotter than the neck and they don't balance out well until you learn the volume controls. Lots of players can make them sound like an acoustic.
"You'll see it for sale in 30-some years and people will drool over this thing. That's what I'm pretty much expecting..." Dude, I'm drooling now. I'd buy it in a heart beat. So good luck to you and your investment. You're young enough to be able to sit back and wait that long. I wish that I'll live long enough to see it come up for sale. If I'm still alive I'll be 91, rotting in a care home and won't give a damn about anything except when my next meal is coming. Haha! All the best, buddy.
I have a NAMM prototype from 2004. It's a beautiful Burns. One of only two made.
That's way cool
@@big_bicep_bill7594 instagram.com/p/94EygeTPof/?igshid=ce6s2ot7oi1b
At NAMM guitars chosen for great looks and then their playability is tweaked to perfection. So even a PRS SE245 can be near perfection when it is chosen out of dozens and then nudged into ultra playaility. Now a certain small town store managed to scoop the showcase SE which was in the entrance of the PRS NAMM booth. BUT in farm country classic Fenders are the only choice of the locals, OUCH! No one wanted it so after a few years tagging it as a used guitar and blowing it for small change was the way to go. BINGO! In walks me! So minutes after it was offered on Reverb ...and for small change it was mine!
Lots of Cali NAMM pieces take a lot longer to complete than a production model. It's a brand new year and new models of the same guitars but, bigger and better. "Name artist" plays one and it's THE guitar to buy that year. OOHH and AAHH.
I have always loved NAMM hype. Its like the Detroit car show.
Sounded really amazing with gain
that is the prettiest top I've ever seen! dude I would've just keep the guitar man Thats a keeper man!
That’s a gorgeous guitar
That factory burst is fantastic! It looks like across between my Honey burst and my Tobacco burst, stunning ;0)
That's a beaut!! I can't wait to see you review the Epiphone SG Muse! I am wondering, what color option did you get the Muse in ?
I Have One Of These In Golden Poppyburst It Is A Stellar Guitar. Great Review Thanks!
Wildwood Guitars bought almost all of Gibson's NAMM guitars in 2019.
I'm not a big Gibson fan but I'd have that les Paul in a heartbeat!
Awesome monster top instrument!... Say Hi to your buddy from 3 doors down. I saw them few times and love this band...
This is my dream guitar.
One of the best guitars in the show !
Wow, that is an awesome guitar!!!
Those finishes are so the same, and the one you have pops like crazy !
FYI, when I got my R9 I had Tom Holmes build me a custom set with the bridge pup lightly potted and no potting for the neck. The combination works perfect.
I work at Breedlove / Bedell and we do NAMM the same way. Dealers buy the show instruments, and then they get shipped back to our Bend OR factory, and they get a final QC before they get shipped out to dealers. The reason, people play and hold those instruments and they need to be cleaned up and set up again before they get in the hands of our awesome dealers :)
That top is NUTS!!!!
Thanks Austin, I just purchased a 2004 R9 VOS. Compared to my 2018 Les Paul Standard it’s light years better!
I bought one yesterday. Just got it today. Haven't taken it out of the box yet. Waiting for it to acclimate.
