ENGWE EP-2 e-bike. Power Assist Options. **Part 2**

- This is an update from a previous video, where we tested the effect of changing between 3, 5, and 9 assists had on the top speed of the bike. A little disappointing at the 1mph difference in real use, and not really worth it. But if you can live with 3 or 9 assists and crave for that little bit more, then it's an option.

Great video. I was just planning to buy the same ebike ENGWE EP2 pro and compare with the ENGWE engine pro. As i already compared the FIIDO M1 pro with the ENGWE ENGIN pro top speeed and seems FIIDO is more faster.
For that reason i was planning to buy another ENGWE but the EP 2 PRO this time and compare aswell and possibly keep for myself while i get rid of the ENGWE ENGIN pro. Happy to see your result on top speed with different PA settings.
Made it more easier to make up mind on which bike to get next.
very good !
Hi. Glad to see you're obviously getting out there on the Engwe. I've been using mine a fair bit recently. Not done anything in the way of experiments although it's clear that I'd benefit from the cassette upgrade, with higher ratios, that you carried out a while ago. I never drop below 4th gear even on steep inclines but frequently run out of leg rpm in top gear, with the impression that the motor is still able to offer power. I top out at about 22mph.
That brings me to your vid. Can you extract higher speeds by pedalling faster? This sounds so obvious, but with hub motors it isn't so straightforward. I'm interested to know if the motor keeps providing power above 22mph. I suspect it does, based on your last video in your house where the controller suggest it'll target 27mph as a limit on motor rpm and presumably motor power.
Keep on truckin 😁👍
Like you say, the motor will only provide as much power as you would get by spinning the wheel with no friction. Anything above that is provided by leg power, which is where the 11 tooth sprocket helps out.
If you could somehow get a 10 tooth rear cassette you could get more speed
In house, throttle only. On road, pedals only. Comparing apples with oranges there mate. A whole new variable, you. I never pedal mine, that setting makes no difference that I've seen. The top speed isn't controlled by that setting, there's another for that, which also doesn't seem to improve things. I considered lying to it in wheel diameter settings but haven't tried that yet. But you'd imagine if the top speed is set for standard wheel dia and you tell it smaller, it might have to spin faster to compensate?
hello friend, I am in Italy and I have set the unit in kmh, putting the PAS 3 the maximum speed increases by about 3kmh ... putting the size of the wheels at 22 "the speed is wrong ... leaving it at 24" of default the deviation from the GPS is only 1kmh.
Do you have the same M5 display? It may depend on which controller they have used on the bike also.
@@MidlandBulletRiders yes M5 display!!!
Why set them at 22 inch and not 20?
If set at 20 it would read faster than it actually is.
So power assist is when you are pedaling ?
Yes, assists your pedalling.
Which bike is this 500 W or 750 W ?
This is the 500w, but there's little difference.
Hello there, May you set all setting for the bike. From 1 to 24 please.
