Thank God and scientists to create a flame resistant fabric called PBI and Nomex/Kevlar. Those fibers will protect those firefighters from extreme heat for like 20 seconds, but that is how close firefighters will get to. To put out the fire.
Being educated on the reading of smoke is essential for every command officer as well as every firefighter. Reading smoke determines how and where to attack the fire. It can tell you a lot about the amount involved, the fire load, how to attack it, what’s burning and where it is in the structure. Learn it, be safe out there. No structure is worth losing a brother or sister in, command must evaluate the cost versus the risk, and make sure that in the end everybody goes home.
Completely agree with " removing members from roof"!! Retired ff with 20 yrs. The amounts of "un-burned materials in the smoke" make the roof operation dangerous in my experience. look how quickly the dark cloud lights off!
Once again, LA has been on the roof with that much active fire underneath them and their aerial ladder was over an open door. Where was a lot of smoke that could’ve flashed over any moment.
I remember this one, it was a real nail biter there for awhile. I can't believe LAFD stayed on the roof as long as they did. Everyone earned their paychecks that night!! Good job catching the intensity of it.
C20 is unique
Why?
Because Zak and his team keep it real each time he does a video
Tells each story how it is
10/10 👍
I absolutely love C20 and Zak. I just can't ever get enough of this show. Stay safe out there, Zak & Tay & the rest of the crew.

Zak, this is what one of the most critical things the sight SAFETY OFFICER must be monitoring and advising the chiefs!!
Thanks for the clip that was a wild fire awesome coverage... Be safe out there
OMG that was an incredibly aggressive fire! Wow. I can't even imagine what the heat was like being right there
Zak- you show us such important events. I am far away from LA but still care deeply what happens there!thank you. This fire is unbelievable.

TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Looks like a flame thrower.
What a crazy fire . Must be a gas line or something there .
wow scary
You should put what area of the city these are in
Too much talking and video of you.
Was this a 5th alarm fire?
I fell asleep. Too much talking and basically showing the same thing over and over.
Zac you need to get less personal in your comments.
No reason for them to be on that roof
Wow, sad.
You saying you are shocked that they are standing there remember you are not a firefighter
You saying that they are just standing there remember you are not a firefighter
Less talking more actual footage. Less of you
Negative. This series is about the Photojournalists themselves and how the news is collected. UA-cam is vast. Seek other channels.
