Just wanted to say thank you for the video ! I just did this repair on a 2006 HHR and followed your instructions to a tee. Pretty easy job. Thanks again!
Thank you so much I thought the water in my car was from a blown heater core, was going to buy a new one for $400+ dollars, seen your video, and realized it was from what you showed. You saved me a big headache and possibly selling my car because of this, so thank you very much.
Awesome! Happy Motoring! 😊
This vehicle is so frustrating I bought it with 165 000 miles on it I paid 4500 and I've had nothing but problems. I replaced the entire computer system in it due to me leaving the lights on all night and jumping it off the wrong way the next morning oh it was a nightmare and I know absolutely nothing about vehicles. This video was good bc we followed threw wt you easily so thank you.
Nice saved me the hassle of changing out the heater core. I chased this problem for a week or so, found out it's not the heater core.
This video saved me SOOOO much. I’ve been having this problem for two years and multiple mechanics have had ZERO idea of how to fix this.
THANK YOU!!
When I saw the puddle in the passenger side and the windows were fogging I thought I had a bad heater core, but the heater is blowing intensely hot. This video cleared it all up including why my blower motor chirps sometimes..
I watched your video, bought a part for $13.00 on line, took about an hour, I'm slow, and fixed it.. thanks to you...
Steve Richey welcome. Glad I could help!!!
steve is the part number 4290481
Susan Petersen did he give you the part number yet? We live in the US and GM dealer does not fine that part number? What is the name of the part? We are have the same issue with our 2008 Chevy HHR lots of water
Please mr Steve need help right away with the correct part number
@@kawboy6156 2578573. Water deflector, it comes up under this number in gmpartsdirect
I cut the new piece from an extra plastic storage bin top. Used silicone caulk to glue down. I think it's better than what was originally there, and much better than the replacement part.
Jason Manwaring I wouldn’t because of the cold. But hey if it works high 5 brother!
How did it hold up? I feel like that type of plastic would be prone to change from temp and dry rot evntually. About to replace the original on my HHR.
Thanks Bud , I appreciate you taking the time to make a good quality and easy step by step video, you definitely took the stress out of doing this job
Ivan Rea welcome!
Thank you, my brother. I try this and it work. God bless you and your family. Amen
You are very welcome
omg thank you so much i have had this problem for months with my 2009 and could not figure out what it was.
Thank u for this video!! This helped so much!!❤
Just bought this car and has this issue, will fix this weekend. Great video
Wonderful well explain video and very good views ....some people make videos and cut the process and we end up not seen half the process thanks!
Wow thank you, shops couldn’t even tell me what was the problem!
Happy to help!
This has been driving me crazy! Thank you!!!
Me too
Going to try this out tomorrow. When it rains I always wake up to a puddle of water in my 2006 hhr.
I’ve had some issues with the ac not blowing any air. When I turn the ac knob on any speed, no air comes through. I can hear the ac starting but still no air. In the past, I’ve replaced the resistor and the corresponding fuse and it worked only for a couple of months. When I took out the old resistor it look like it had some water damage to it.
I’m thinking the ac might not work because it could be a combination of the water leaking to the passenger side where the resistor is. What do you think?
I would highly assume that water is frying the resistor. Replace the resistor once the water leak is repaired.
Thanks for the info and for including the part number. I really don't like my wife's HHR, go home engineers, you're drunk.
Great video put a little bit more like when you're working so we can see more detail
Got same issue. Now I know what to do. Thanks man 👍🏻
Does this happen with the ss model? I noticed a water leak in passenger door side when I washed my car
Thanks for sharing this. I got an 06 does same shit. Appreciate the music too brother.
Keep up the good work! you save me $300, my friend.
Glad I could help
Yes, now I can fix mine. Thanks bro!
Thank you for the video I’ve been trying to figure it out and paid the dealer a lot of money. They said it was the drains. Will it also fix when water is on the driver side ?
Raymond McCullough I don’t know about drivers side. It may have run over. Maybe something else.
How did that plastic piece hold up after 5 years?
Do you still have the car?
@@burtreynolds3143 I think my dad had the car another 5 years and he passed so sold the car.
When I look the part up it says it isn't for a 2011. Do you think that's wrong? Also, I'm curious if this is the reason my speakers have gone out?
Part numbers supersede all the time. Just explain what you need.
Those speakers go all the time. More common than the water leak.
Thanks so much!
you have a 2006 HHR thay must have made a upgrade for a 2010 HHR Panel which is what I have been having water in drivers side floor my problem was (I think) was the windshield or wire loom from door put black silicon on leak gone, now for the upgrade I removed the crown cover and there was no rubber cover on my car like you replaced bought this car new and it never leaked on passher side by the photo the cover and hole goes to the windshield at one place mine does not it has metal rolled up to direct water away from the exposed hole over the blower motor it has never a rubber gasket or never has one on my car
MAybe someone never put it on or it was removed by someone?
No one has ever removed it I bought the car new it had less than 10 miles on it and it was never one on it no glue residue on metal, it's possible it was never put on from the factory but it has never leaked on the passenger side and it is outside 24/7 all seasons, hard rain snow and ice the worst thing in sunlight.
@@williamdavis4268 I have the 2010 hhr and it has water in passenger side, took the wipers and cover off like he showed in the vid and I didn’t have a piece covering the hole either
@@hxd9321what did you do? Did you still buy the part or figure out a different solution?
Exactly the help I needed. thank you
Good job 🎉🎉😅😊
How does water go up to be on top of the cover? What is the source of the water?
Poor design and rain
Verig good. Thanks
Welcome 👍
Thanks bro
Is there any trick to removing the wiper after removing the bolt? Yours seem to have come off so easily
No trick. They just pull up
my driver side won't come off
Hello, Ian located in Florida where it is hot most of the time. I bought this HHR 2009 with only 77k miles. It looks like new but with issues that make it feel like an old car. I am having issues with the water leaking on the passenger side but I notice that it is only when using the AC. The condensation from the AC it is getting stack inside and leaks. my question here is; Is there where I can clear up that little hole where condensation should be draining? I used my vacuum to suck the water from the little hole that should be drawing and I was able to collect about a gallon of water but I thought that was it, and it happen again. Any recommendations or how to fix this? Thank you in advance. Jorge in Clearwater, FL.
The fix is this video
Hi what is the actual name of that cover I looked under dumdum but no such item was found.
The part number is all you need. It’s in the video and someone below posted it. Just look
It hasn’t rained here in 2 weeks for water to get in there. Water is dripping on floor but where s it coming from
watch the video
What is the part number? This hurricane has ruined my weekend with my car
Watch the video. Read the posts 😂
@@ClusterHeadSurvivor I found the part but it says it only fits on 2006-07 I have an 08

What is the name of the part?
watch the video. part number in it and comments. You need part #, not the name
The name would help
I have a leak that seems to be leaking from the top
Can someone send me the part #? I can't see the part number in the video.
its in the comment section or just go to dealer and parts guy will give you one
"cowel water deflector, part GM (25785783)". I got it on Ebay or $20 OEM and free shipping
I made my own homemade gasket for a $1.50
What did you use?
✌🏻☝🏻💙😊
Mine only leaks when the AC is running. j
Not the sunroof then. Check your drain tube at the firewall
Wais item number please
read the comments and description
@@ClusterHeadSurvivorI look at description it says to look at discerption and video for the pats number. I can’t find it. The video shows a bunch of numbers, which one is it. I pause the video and still have a hard time reading it. Otherwise, your explanation is great!
