You can tell I recorded most of this before I heard UA-cam started cracking down on swearing! Apology for any audio issues in this one. Learning a new format came with some speed bumps that will thankfully not be present next time I make video like this!
So cool you called out iron pineapple, right before you said that I was thinking of cool this is kinda like ip and his souls like series, and I'm loving it so far man, nice thanks.
Glad you took a look at Sands of Slumber. The Dev worked very hard to make this and the voice team, including my self (I play Ashara) worked very hard to give life to all the characters. ❤
Heya!!! Just got word of this video as a voice actor for Sands of Slumber (voiced Urbane The Weapon Smith and some random NPCs) happy to see the support and love for the project. Just subscribed. ✌️🦊
Ah, I remember the first time I got chased by an ogre. Age 17, on that day I learned that despite their large bodies they can be surprisingly adept at operating vehicles
The Sands of Slumber large characters at the beginning look like they were pulled from the Reroll app. I've made plenty of characters in it to recognize the pixel art style that app uses 😂
With Oh Dungeon Master I find it very funny that they probably use achivements to track how many pictures you've collected. They just don't know how to maintain information between scenes, and that's an unbelievable level of incompetence. Like, okay, you don't know how to set up persistent objects in whatever engine it is (I think it's Unity, so it's literally just calling DontDestroyOnLoad in Start() or constructor), but you can use files to store that information! There are like save/load systems in asset stores!
At least there's no Dungeon Cleaner series on the list. Mostly known under "Planet Alcatraz" alias. for anyone curious Warlockracy made good video about the first game.
OH MY GOD, YOU'RE RIGHT! I actually made a complaint about why the character sheet images didn't match anything else in the game's style, but it didn't make it into the final cut. This explains so much!
It looks like the game is basically a retelling of an actual D&D campain the developer is playing, and is even updating the game as they play real life game sessions and continue their story, so maybe those are just their actual character sheets? That's such a cool concept.
That first game felt more like what I wish Baldurs Gate 3 felt like. BG3 is so streamlined and does so much stuff behind the scenes, it doesn't feel like D&D.
"it has dungeons and it has dungeons, therefore it is dnd" just like "strategy" tag "it has strategy therefore it's strategy game" making games like cs:go and rocket league dominate the tag
Alluris is a neat little game, I think at my first run in that game I ended getting married to a kobold or some kind of cave creature , oh also before I forget, Great video
So I looked up the creator of Last Blossom and found his LinkedIn and there might be a good reason why it does not have a sequel yet. ...Vadym Lysytsia is Ukrainian. I imagine the reason there was no followup yet is at least partially because of the war. Plus he has a day job at a gamedev outsourcing company.
"Oh, Dungeon Master" could been a decent game, if it wasn't broken, and replace naughty pics with wanted posters? treasure maps, spell pages, cursed pages, diary mix pages? So everything? into a book.
Is that a default RPG Maker MZ battle system I'm watching for the second game? Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with it; it just might not be a D&D battle system that people would expect from a D&D tag.
People like this make me never want to make an indie game. Can't even imagine spending 5 years on a game only to hear some snarky youtuber who's obviously never read any mythology in their life sum up my worldbuilding as "lol this is a guy who ate his mom's feet. bottom text." Even if he did end up saying the game was decent.
I know someone who worked on Sands of Slumber and I've played it about as much as Will has. SoL is a mostly comedic game where the world building as well as the character dialogue are intended to be outlandish and invite incredulity from the player. I don't think Will was trying to be particularly mean spirited in highlighting a bizarre detail in the game's religious lore; if anything that can be part of commending it.

Yeah! I love Ironpineapple's Soulslike series and I love D&D! Perfect format!

"I mean for some sneak" This is now part of my vocabulary
Yes, 100%
"Hey girl, you want some sneak?"
Top Ten Moments that really made William *feel* like he went in the Creative Commons 4.0 Attribution license.
Awesome job on the voice. 10/10. No notes.
Was really cool to have you review our little game. I took several d4's worth of embarrassment damage but was happy that you enjoyed the game overall!

My first time was at age 14 when one punched me in the throat and my voice changed!
Playing this game with both hands... thats when I lost it. 🤣
As a fan of Iron Pineapple's videos I gotta say this was very much enjoyable like that. Keep it up!
I like how in the Sands game the roar sound was actually someone yelling "ROOOAAAAR". :D

I keep rewatching the “innformation” joke.
SoS is STUFFED with silly gags like that one.
That joke was well INNtegrated into the plot.
At least there's no Dungeon Cleaner series on the list.
Mostly known under "Planet Alcatraz" alias.
for anyone curious Warlockracy made good video about the first game.
This is a neat video format, good on you for stealing it. ;) Looking forward to more of these.
Holy shit. The Sands of Slumber game is straight up using an app called Reroll for making those character profiles.
OH MY GOD, YOU'RE RIGHT!
I actually made a complaint about why the character sheet images didn't match anything else in the game's style, but it didn't make it into the final cut.
This explains so much!
I noticed that too!

Congratz on getting released under Creative Commons, SRD!
Gonna be very tricky to explain to future partners that I can't be monogamous due to copyright
Guys I don't get it! On which 5th edition of famous tabletop turn based roleplay game was based 1st game? Can somebody explain to me??
Vampire the Masquerade 5e, if I had to guess
@@WilliamSRD Oh thanks. I was thinking about Call of Cthulhu
Knowing how many crumby games and also hidden gems there are on steam, I always enjoy videos like this.
I really really love this channel and I don't even play tabletop games
I can't believe your channel isn't bigger. Subscribed and probably gonna become a patron, too. Keep it up!
Welcome to the cool side of the pillow!

9:42 Really right in front of my OSHA handbook?!?! *Regulated screeching*
You don't have many subs but your videos are very professional. I've subbed to see my DnD game content.
"my name... was TREVOR!"
23:44 first time I laugh at a new Joker joke. Definitely going to try the goblin shop. Thank you.
watching Oh Dungeon Master just makes me wanna play Delver again
Oh Dungeon Master All your experience disappears when you enter a dungeon - reminds me of elder scrolls oblivion
I saw it, William.
I saw it.
DANG IT I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE BLURRED THOSE 3 FRAMES
Oh dungeon master actually looks fun if it wasnt so broken, even the pictures as a placeholder objective is kinda fun
I swear I've heard the word "diegetically" more times on this channel than in the entire rest of my life.
It is not my fault - other people should use it more!

Dude I swear John Mulaney doing the voice for spider ham sounds just like your voice. You can get him to fill in if you ever need to take a vacation
That rpgmaker D&D is funniest of the bunch.
Collecting faceless torso pictures is an inspired goal for a role playing game
If you like Goblin Shop, you'll probably like Moonlighter.
Of these, Alluris seemed the most interesting to me.
13:29 Are the humans... Megaman sprite edits?
I feel they odd to invent a all in one hand controller for some games :) Giggty giggty :D
The jengrish in that first game...
Why does every game have to have neon glow effects these days?
Looks like Sands of Slumber was made with RPGMaker.
You should play Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic! That game is awesome

18:58 I almost feel ashamed that I know exactly who that character in the pic is.
This reminds i need to check out "Wonderlands"
Me want more dis
wait is this true? new games based on 3.5 and 5e cant be made anymore? and is there a link to this 'last video'?

Haha, you're VERY early for that!
@@WilliamSRD we'll see. haha
I looked at it!!!!
14:10 LOL
play path of achra
That is the most broken game I've ever seen, even for early access
I try not to say ‘cringe’ too often anymore.
That “sands of slumber” rpg maker game _heavily_ tested that desire.
Christ that was awful
2nd game is the epitome of rpgmaker crap.
Oh man, I loose.
I choked.
