See some "Soj sold to merchants" and stayed in those games :D. But this whole IP thing... is so obfsucated and for what reason? lol. Obviously they thought it was the best way but wish it was a different way
It's like this because wayyyyyy back in the day there was a soj duping problem. Once they fixed the duping exploit there was still a ton of duped sojs floating around so they created the dclone event to try to persuade people to destroy as many as possible.

Just that making it pop on games of a certain IP and needing to do some outside game shit to see if your on the right IP is just bad design. I think I was supposed to use the command prompt to see the Ip of my game (According to a guide I read in middle school) and even then you have to find a game with the "X SoJs sold to merchants" and then just check every game made to see if your on that IP. Sometimes you'd see one message and nothing for hours. I know because I stayed in those games for a chance at D clone lol. I mean later games were given to you by the person running the SoJ sell off, games with the correct IP. And so many people got on that IP that it crashed shortly after the walk but like that shouldn't be a thing... Spawning in all games was probably not feasible either. Then there's just too many annis and no one wants to "sink" their SoJs into this. I just wish it wasn't so hidden and complicated for the average Joe. No idea if there was a better design or not really.

I know they were used as currency, but I can't imagine them being traded around like Puls or Ums. And expecting someone to dump 100 to 125 SoJs for their own Anni while others "get lucky" seems dubious. I still stand that this design was terrible even if they meant it to be this terrible lol
So all those sojs dissapear? Do they pop up in the merchants window so you can buy them back? This is a bit confusing for me, i’d have to say im a bit outta my depth with this one
Gear a smiter in offline play, or download a save file. Practice smiting and what will get it done. Trust me it'll pay off huge if you see that message.

Diablo will spawn in all games Hell difficulty that are already made on the specific server(IP), so so probably a lot, and some users use multiple bnet accounts that have game made and waiting for spawn, then they collect more anni's.

imho this is the biggest change they need to make in D2r. We still have to sell sojs to spawn Dclone, even though that mechanic was added to get rid of dupes...which we have none. So you're telling me an item worth a HR...I gotta sell 100 of them to get ONE ITEM that isn't even that great compared to most items you can wear. It does grant extra xp, cool, but fuck 100 sojs to get it? Stupid.
So when X amount of soj's are sold, you spawn dclone, you share IP. And then? how much time do you have to get other games? when does it stop when "original clone" is dead or how does it work?
Exactly. This shouldn't even be how to get one. This was implemented back then in original d2X because there were so many duplicated SOJs,(from hacks and bugs) and it was a way for them to reduce the amount of sojs floating around in game. This is nonsense, having to download a 3rd party program to try to get an item in a game, and require use of social media, that's outside of the game. Not even its useless game chat channels

How many diablo clones spawn on a server once triggered? If it is just one and it costs 90 SoJs, it is not a good trade
