Superb. Again, I have been working these concepts in my own training for many years now, and still continue to learn and refine them all the time. Brilliant instruction. I absolutely love the Thai martial systems, and also find that they can be incorporated so readily into the sport style as well. Thankyou, once again, for all that you are doing to further the knowledge and understanding of the Siamese Martial Arts. Big Respect.
The back fist or hammerfist screws with people in conbination. Especially counterstrikers who are used to normal combinations.I used to throw the 1-2-3 and comeback with the hammer fist if they leaned back out range. Its not a knockout blow but it's got enough power (especially since there not expecting because they don't see it well and aren't expecting to struck at on the halfbeat and to have defend the left side twice in a row) and its more of a stunning or disruption strike. For those who want an example, when Anderson Silva got dethroned the first time by Weidman he leans back out of his base trying to avoid Weidman combination and there is a back fist that kinda screws with Silva reactions. Arlovski threw them against Travis Browne (I think) as well. Jack Dempsey used to love the backfist as well but called it the tattoo in his book.
Swinging a baseball bat is very similar to the technique of the back fist. Ive been playing ball for 16 years or so and i can tell you that if you can learn the techinqye properley you can knock some 1 out standing up with i back fist that hes teaching
Everything is waist - sounds very similar to traditional Chinese martial arts. Did you find the principles of movement to fit well with sport fighting?
I'm not an expert in Muay Boran, but as far as I understand it there are historically 4 distinct styles of "Muay Boran" (ancient Muay). Muay Khorat is one of them, from the Khorat region in the Northeast. Muay Chaiya is another more commonly taught style, from the South.
There are 4 styles of Muai Boran. The poem wrote "หมัดหนักโคราช ฉลาดลพบุรี ท่าดีไชยา ไวกว่าท่าเสา" means "Strong punch is Khorat Style, smart fight is Lop Buri Style, Good stance is Chaiya Style, faster strike is Thasao Style" 1. Khorat Style (Northeastern)- This style emphasizes on power and strength. 2. Lop Buri Style (Middle) - This style emphasizes on techniques and tricks. 3. Chaiya Style (Southern) - This style emphasizes on defense. 4. Thasao Style (Northern) - This style emphasizes on speed.
Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu - Muay Thai Muay boran is muay chaya and muay korat and other stiles put in one this is muay boran Boran =old 😁 And chaya and korat Is different in Thailand areas Chaya in South I think Korat in North

Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu - Muay Thai yeah! Its like the first time I saw an upper cut elbow years ago and just having my mind blown like "holy shit why didn't that ever occur to me??" I do Shidokan karate which is an off shoot of kyokushin and I'm wondering if elbows to the body would be legal because that would seriously suck to take to the ribs Same with those dope kick interruptions he does in the longer video (watching right now)
@@lancemannly if you want to really mess with somebody try a forward thrusting elbow to the sternum, though i fon't recomend trying it on anyone with whom you want to have any sort of lasting relationship since a shot like that to the sternum can cause serious damage.
This particular style which taught directly to General Tunwakom by his Lertrit / Muay Khorat master. As I understand it he is the only living directly received student of that lineage, so this style is nearly extinct. Appreciate you studying the martial aspect. Goddam, you speaking the language helps so much. Awesome

I was going to say, this reminds me a lot a what i learned in baji-quan, which incidentally is the martial art of the Taiwanese special forces.
Love this one. We practise some of these moves in muay boran classes. Is muay khorat a style of muay boran?

I could use that slicing elbow to defend against hooks 😮
So that elbow is meant to be a body shot? It never even would have occurred go me that you could use elbows that way
Isaac Bowen yeah! Cool, right? Sagat, Ponsaknoi, Hippy and Burklerk all teach elbows to the body as well.

Any Martial Art from Thailand is effective.
I thought Muay Korat was an extinct form of arts , let alone still is available to teaching ...
