What's really surreal about all this is the fact that this version actually sounds happier than the one we've been listening to all these years, especially with the lyrics being more clear. I always thought one line in particular went "let us drown in your own failure" but it's actually "let a smile be your companion." It's as if the song itself is happy we finally know who made it.
"this version actually sounds happier than the one we've been listening to all these years" that's because it's in the actual key which is a half-step higher in pitch.
While you sit victorious after fighting for your happiness you sit in a beach enjoying the sunset with men’s best friend (dog) as this song Is faintly playing in the background as you’re reminded of you’re good memories
I can't get enough from this song, finally listening to a better quality version felt like an out of body experience Greetings from Venezuela, been following this search since 2021
It sounds like an original of the one we got to know first. Like now it sounds like it was probably before the degradation, with minimal differences (like the ending)
This sounds the exact same but yea ofc most likely due to the cassette tape degrading and probably the radio that was used to record the song onto the cassette it would sound alot worst than the original master copy. The version was played on NDR is a radio edit so that too is why it sounds different.
@sam_64 Yeah, it's not absolutely perfect, but for a repaired recording from a 41 year old tape of a radio broadcast, I couldn't really ask for better. It's missing a lot of the grain and dropouts of the tape and actually plays at the right speed and pitch
@@VeraTheTabbynx No, the radio broadcast was the original demo version we had, this is a newer slightly different demo version also recorded onto a cassette tape directly from the band itself.
@@sam_64 My apologies, it is still a massive improvement over the tape, which itself is albeit in good condition for one of its age, still not great as a listening experience. As far as I have seen, this is the best non-acoustic version of the song until FEX release a new recording of it.
Maybe the cassette is actually just worn and stretched, but what would really help the quality of the song would be to rip it in a good quality cassette deck, like one from the late 80s, and a high quality capture card. Then do the remaster and export the UA-cam video in 512 kbps, 48000 hz audio quality. That way, UA-cam’s compression doesn’t totally screw with the audio quality.
@@emmariley-baker8719 also either way they'd have found it as the person who emailed one of the members of the band for the any demo tapes and probably done it a week or a couple of days before. The FEX member he contacted said he'd go and ask his bandmates before the person on reddit could show it to the subreddit which when they said that he could post the song, he posted it.

"let us follow you forever" 😨

How did you hear THAT
@@jettrainbowno this isn’t the same reason. The original snippet is way different. Way more reverb in the voice, different singing
@@monsty26 Not to mention that the synthesizer is far more audible, especially towards the end.
We fought for happiness
*_And we won_*

Even without the crazy story of it and how long we’ve waited to hear this version, this song just slaps
A great internet mystery finally solved
you're right vegito
Couldn’t be any more victorious.
THIS is the sound of victory
That sweet sweet 80s victory song
I can't get enough from this song, finally listening to a better quality version felt like an out of body experience

I know!! It's great! Beautiful in fact
Love that the drum sound is similar to David Bowie's 'Low' album
The song has the German essence
Exists another demo with a song in Bowie style from station to station aura.
We need this song on the radio in GTA VI

for some reason I actually like the original degraded and more distorted version, more than the clearer version
@@vergilREAL-d5ttbh the pitch is different, so
I'm proud that I live in this time when a 40 year lost media song finally is here. ❤
It feels like we really made it
This sounds like magic
The end credits to being in your house.
This is beautiful
thats so HAPPY
Great remaster ! Do you think you can giev the 3 other songs of the band the same treatment ?
Even the FEX logo is great!
lovely hearing this without all the degradation on the tape
you can still hear distortion. Listen to the snare drum.

@@sam_64 Yep! No radio broadcast but still just a cassette tape, not a real "remaster" since a cassette isn't a master.

Best version sounds good
i can't believe it's been found

Guess we gotta wait for a rerecord unless we get a master.
We did it guys
Sounds great
like is it in dolby atmos? or just remastered using that one dolby app
Pretty sure it's Dolby B NR. Which was noise reduction dolby made for cassette tapes.
Groovy
Good job with this one!
PLEASE DO HEART IN DANGER LIKE HOW U DID HERE PLSSSSSS
Nice
Download link?
I still want stems :3
Sounds great bro, i love it, there's a way to do the same process with other fex songs? They're banger too
can you do this for the other songs?
Is the lyric "Paranoid anyway" or "Bury it all anyway"? I've seen both and mostly hear the latter
The end
If Kamala won we would be in the universe where the song is lost to us. I feel like we’re escaping the liminal space
are you schizophrenic
this song was found the day before the election, so we'd have it either way

This year truly has witnessed a rebirth of meme magic. The greatest peak of esoteric human metaconciousness since 2016. Praise Kek.
hmmm how can I add american politics to a video of a random 80s german song
