I thought i was the only one that fed my chickens oatmeal off a spoon lol. My rooster will come up to the house every morning and share breakfast with me, he will stand looking through the glass door into the house crowing like hey I'm here your late let me in, he also smacks his🤣. When y'all was peeling bananas i was like wait give that to the chickens and then you had said it, i thought ok now we're on the same road. Our peels don't make it to compost though the pigs enjoy them to much, and if you do toss one out then you feel like they are looking at you like they know what you did😑 y'all are doing great! We are try to be as self sufficient as possible as well, i recently got dairy goats so now we have fresh milk, i can make our own butter and cheese and have an extra income when selling kidds. The possibilities are endless. Y'all be safe and well have a beautiful day

Kathy you just made our day with your sweet comment! I had my daughter read it out loud so the whole family could hear your encouragement. From what you said it sounds like you got it going on with your goats and pigs. We are in the process of "thinking" about getting goats again for milk and dairy products since we don't have the space for a jersey milk cow. Also, we aren't allowed to have pigs in the city limits, so you got us on that.....just don't tell me you have Kune Kune or American Guinea Hogs..... I don't think my heart could take it. Those are our favorites hands down. Thank you again for the encouragement and its comments like yours that keep us sharing and making content.

Suggestion regarding freezing bananas. Place them on a sheet tray and then in the freezer so they don’t become a massive clump of frozen bananas

Is that run completely safe from predictors? We have snakes, raccoons, foxes, coyotes

@@Taking_Back_Thyme I don't think a run can be completely predator proof ever however, it is more important to make sure that the coop that they sleep in every night is predator proof. We use an automatic door and have built our coop separate from the run to try and protect our girls as much as we can.

Those are Columbian Wyandottes. Since this video we replaced them with Rhode Island Reds. The Wyandottes didn’t tolerate our South Texas heat as well as other breeds. They were beautiful though.

Tip: Cut out the filler stuff. Getting to the main content quicker will dramatically increase viewer retention.

I love the relaxed way of how the information is presented
