Top 10: Jewels of Empress Alix

From her Boucheron pearl coronet to the incredible Russian pearl and diamond diadem, to "Nicky's Tear" diamond brooch and bracelets from her uncle Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, Empress Alexandra of Russia (1872-1918) had a beautiful jewelry collection. Largely seized, dismantled, sold and destroyed during the #Bolshevik revolution of 1917/1918, some of #EmpressAlix 's pieces occasionally resurface due to the purchases of #ArmandHammer in the 1930s.

The earring that was found was a pearl and small diamond lever back earring. It was not just a "diamond" earring. These are earrings that Empress Alexandra worn most of the time.
