Butterflyfish are so underrated, I 100% think people should breed these saltwater fish like the clowns, we could have such cool hybrids and very hardy fish. A dream
I have 2 blue tangs . One is 12 yrs old , other one was already very big as someone donated him to the store. I paid only $25 for him in 2019. They are so cool, fun eats, like pigs. Yellow tang, I had for 6 yrs before he died... I love all tangs.. they are incredible 😍
Squaretail Tang is a great alternative to the Kole Tang. Squaretail is easier to get and has the yellow eyes. Main difference is the squaretail has dots throughout its body whereas the kole has dots on the face and lines on the body. Both great small tangs
My Purple Tang, Regal Angelfish, and One-spot Foxface are a trio that sleep in the same cave system. They were all smaller. Not so much anymore. I got lucky. My Tang is really friendly and will attempt handfeeding like clowns often do
I'm lucky enough to have some tangs myself. Just got my Naso as a very tiny one. Fortunately for me and him, the tank is big enough he can grow till his full potential. Love him because he loves swimming in front of the tank, a real threat. Also have the Yellow Belly Regal Blue Tang (he was still super small getting him didn't realize it was a yellow belly but he's great) and also got the purple tang. They all doing great together, swim often as a group around together with a Foxface. Love getting them smaller and see them grow. Next for me on the list will be a Bristletooth tang. Really love tangs.... so far they all went in peacefully...no issues as long your keeping different types.
I have a blonde naso I named Mr. T and I absolutely love him. He is shy at first but sweet and so good with new fish. He is probably my favorite next to my maroon clowns, ruby and garnet. My dream tang is for sure an Achilles I just love them! We are going to finish off with tangs after I get one and a regal blue. Unless I am able to find a Hawaiian yellow then I'll be finished with tangs lol but I do love these fish they're awesome
@@BrockLeonard he is a beauty. And even better than the beauty are the brains on him. But my maroons, they're my babies. I love that pair so much. They're wild caught with such deep magenta like purple red coloring. Classic white/gold stripes. They just look so beautiful with their anemone rock and cave. They have 4 bubbletips and a cave set up facing their bubbletips. Its honestly better than tv, I watch my 125 gal reef tank more than my tv haha
I enjoyed watching your video. It may have just been my luck, but I found the two clown tangs (not owned at the same time) to be very aggressive. So much so, that after bullying a naso tang to death, I moved it to the sump until I could re-home it.
@@BrockLeonard The clown tang is one of my favorites, but not with my current fish stocking (Naso, hippo, purple, foxface, various wrasses (copperband once he gets out of QT))
I'm living in an apartment and just started my journey in the aquarium hobby with a 5g and 10g guppy tank. But my goal is to eventually move out to a house and start saltwater and own as many tangs as I can because those are my biggest obsession fish🐠
Every tang in the naso genus is awesome. I have a blonde, two vlamingii, and a brevirostris. Highly recommended if you have a large tank. They eat like pigs and are super peaceful for a tang.
Could make a list which tang should be in the tank first and with size recommended, eg first the Letter Six small or medium, along with Scopas, small size, etc. This to avoid them to hurt each other. Thanks.
Zebrasoma are absolutely gorgeous I have a yellow and got my baby before the ban so sadly wild caught but as a very young juvenile they are so big now and I’m upgrading my tank to a 180
I dream of setting up a tang gang tank. I probably can only get a 125 gallon I'm gona have a sump but don't know wat would be the best ones to keep together I was thinking hippo tang, tomini tang, yellow tangs. Any suggestions on what would be a great mix around a hippo tang?
Scopas have honestly been the most hardy and most trustworthy tang I’ve seen people buy. They look great, they aren’t too aggressive, and they eat quick too. Gotta love em!
Thank you for the video!! Looking to get #20 & # 1 Have a Blue and a Yellow eye right now in a 270. Any advice adding them to the system? Blue is king 👑 for now.
Have a gem tang! I could never ever ever keep a clown tang alive. Never could get them to eat. I know it's hard to include all tangs, but you missed my favorite! The chocolate tang. Yellow/Brown/Orange, it's got colors to hard to pass up. As adults, they have these beautiful streamers that you typically see on angels. They're not too common at the LFS, but pretty good priced
Hey Brock, Love the vids keep it up! I looking to add either a Orange Shoulder, Naso or Clown Tang to my 5x2.5x2 mixed reef. Which would you choose? (Current stocking: Scopas Tang, Blue Tang, clown pair, Foxface, Cleaner wrasse & 6 line wrasse, Tommini Bristletooth Tang)
Can’t thank you enough for watching. My preference would be the clown tang. Mainly because of how peaceful they can be with tank makes. A naso will be much more aggressive toward tangs already inhabiting the tank.
The problem is that I want one of each. I'm making headway. There was some tail chewing but its calming down now after a month. Its hard to believe that I'm have real trouble finding a medium sized 10-12cm Hepatus in good shape. Only babies or adults with ugly scaring from holes in the head.
What minimum size you recommend for one powder brown ? I want one no other fish maybe a pair of clowns but. Really just want a powder brown with some torch corals I have
Thanks dude. I'll give it a try soon. I know each fish can have its own disposition and its always a bit of a gamble. But positive reinforcement is always nice.
Sadly not, their skin is what makes them so prone to it. The best way to avoid it is to dip them upon shipment and quarantine them in copper before going into the display tank.
Oooh! I would love a list for Angelfish, Butterflyfish, Damselfish/Clownfish, and wrasses too! This is good!
Butterflyfish are so underrated, I 100% think people should breed these saltwater fish like the clowns, we could have such cool hybrids and very hardy fish. A dream
definitely wrasses

I was not expected this comment but man it had me cackling XD

😂 that was effin hilarious !
The whitetail bristletooth tang is my new favorite. They’re rare/hard to find and absolutely stunning!!

We are catching Convict Tangs here in Durban, South Africa in the rock pools for our aquariums. Powder Blues are also here.
No way!!! That is awesome
You should do a all about for an undulate trigger, and a Threadfin snapper
Both solid suggestions. Will add them to my list.
Love Me some Yellow Tang!!!! All were
Great!!! Awesome Presentation 🐟🐠 Thanks for Sharing!!!
It wasn’t on the list, but I love an orange-shoulder tang
Wow. There are some beautiful Tangs in that list. Great video!
Great video Brock
I love my yellow tang! I scored one before the ban and it’s about 4” now
Gah lee you are so lucky!
That was a GREAT video! The Naso Tang is definitely the Top Tang.
And again Brock still loving the videos, such fun to watch All About, acclimating my Scopas tang now.
Been looking at a few Tangs for my tank and this helped a lot! Can't wait to find a perfect one for $150!

I have heard of this on many occasions. Clown Tangs are the worst unless it is a very large tank. They have been known to slash other fish.
