Congratulations on the arrival of Little Miss Red! It'll be interesting how the instability changes work out in the PU, as if the server is having lag issues this can be a rock (and ship) destroyer at times
Thanks for the update. I've been wanting to test any mining changes in the PTU but it's been a bit unstable. I'm hoping that the changes you talked about in this patch make Prospector mining a little more viable. I enjoy mining with the Mole quite a bit, but the Prospector has always seemed to be more fun. I look forward to testing some of these changes when I get back in town. Congratulations on little Miss Red! She'll make a great laser operator.
The instability in 3.19, from my perspective was freakishly designed. NEVER in my experience or Laws of thermodynamics has laser power increased and the targets energy level decreased without an explosion or other loss of receiving mass. But many times I'd be in the green and increase power... and the level in the rock would plummet. Absolutely ridiculous, very frustrating and irreconcilable mechanic.
I don’t want to mess with your expectations Red but you will be the laser operator and she will be the pilot! The fun of being a dad.😃Love your guides. Thanks
I've grown lazy with the "Jolly Green Giant" setup in a Mole. lol. It's been fun, but now I'll have to find the right balance with lasers stronger than the Hofstede to break those big rocks. I agree the scanning game-play is awful. I'd like to see that improved. This includes scan surveys not properly responding, individual rock scans not working (i.e. you have to shoot the rock first), and the amount of time it takes for a scan to show the breakdown of the rock.
Can't wait to see the first video where Little Red plays side-seat to you on a Mole and accidentally overcharges the rock, blowing things to kingdom come.
"Note for this build: To better understand the effects of the stability changes, instability values have been increased by a factor of 100 to really test your ability to cope and counter the mechanic."
ROC Mining is still here - I've been Hadanite mining on Aberdeen for a Prospector and getting 100k per 500-600 gems a time... This is on 3.19 by the way...
Personally I enjoy Mining to be more complex however I do not understand the purpose of the new SCU indicator since it is most likely misleading. Especially if the composition of the stone is consisting of materials that have a different density. For example a 10 ton stone with 50% of Quantanium and 50% of Quartz will show to be 63 SCU according to the new indicator. HOWEVER, because of the different density it is not really clear of how much Quant / Quartz is in that stone scu-wise. 10 000 * 0.5 / 683 (density of Quant) = 7,32 10 000 * 0.5 / 90 (den. Quartz) = 55,5 56 + 8 == 64 Therefore I find it really misleading since the only time it makes calculation useless is when a stone contains only materials with the roughly same density or if it is just this one material. But hey, if they get that updated at a later point I think this could be a nice addition. Keep it up RedMonster!
I think Hadanit mining in 3.19 is not due to instability, but game bug. ALL hadanite could be mined, some will not charge yes.. but then you break and collect another stone and the hadanite that wouldnt charge, would be mineable again.. Iam looking forward to some changes in ship mining, mostly because it "pisses" me off when you can charge a stone to 99% and then it will drop to 0 and stay there forever again.. - I need consistancy in mining to figure out how to make it work. Iam solo MOLE mining for most of the time !
My biggest problem is no matter what module or laser I use on the prospector my window is just a sliver. With erratic jumps in instability and power it's basically impossible to mine.
@@jeremy7383 I really want to, but life has gotten pretty busy. I've got a 2mo old baby girl and work has been taking a lot of attention. If I get something out, it won't be for a few more weeks.

I'm happy for you, your personal successes. However, the changes/kneecapping CIG has done to 3.20 (a)(b) mining: scanning, instability jumps, cargo, and selling issues make this patch unplayable if you want to make aUEC.
apparently i recently learned mining is all so dependent to your game fps. me having potato pc having harder time reaching and maintaining optimal window.

I think the prospector was always intended to have a hard limit on the size it could mine. The way mining gameplay has been rolled out never reflected that limit, but these updates are making that limit very apparent. Why sell larger mining ships like the Mole or the Orion if you want each one to be capable of all types of mining?
@@chrishoppner150 Not really the issue. I mine with the Prospector because I generally play solo and have no use for a Mole. I’m perfectly content with the profits I earn based on my choices and play style.
Well, they are messing with mining again. I wouldn't want them to focus more effort on invisible players and surprise invisible walls. We get the hull C and most of the time the loading mechanics don't work properly. Let's jack more with mining instead of offering a fully playable game. Tired of the scam. Played Starfield for hours yesterday. Not a single issue.
that is so AWESOME!! Congratulations on leveling up to "Dad" status. You'll find it to be like nothing else!
Congratulation on the new addition Red. Very happy for you and your spouse!!
Congratulations, Red!!
As always, very instructive. Thank you ! And welcome to your new laser operator :) !
Thank you so much for your insights. And congratulations with the new pilot. Best of luck!

Congrats on the future dedicated mining laser operator's arrival!
I for one am always appreciative of these videos and your online charts!
Excellent heads up news for miners. Thanks!
Thank you for the update and looking forward to getting back into mining. Also congratulations on your new arrival. 🎊

SCU numbers is the best improvement to mining yet.
when will they fix the tractor beam for the roc
Thx so much for this video and informations

Did they fix the power percent on the Rieger C3 yet?

Yep, some of that is current balancing. You should try to gear for optimum window size, and consider using a gadget to help as well.

I guess they've cemented the Prospector as a mere stepping stone to the MOLE then. Meh.
