Metal has its roots in classical and blues. And lots of awesomeness.
I’d say it looked much similar to the romantic period. Take Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata as an example.

@@elguardanapo Beethoven isn't Romantic, he's Classical. He does straddle the line and most historians agree his death marked the beginning of the Romantic period of classical music, which overlaps with the Victorian era

@@bartonthesubscriber1561 Mustaine wrote 2 chord progressions which were used in the acoustic parts. So it's 2 out of 5 riffs (3 of 8 if we count modulations and derivatives, and that's without Cliff's lead bass all over the track).

There's much more to the song than the bit Dave wrote hence why it's written by 4 of them
And Burton played a huge part too, it wouldn't be quite the same just mustaines riff running start to finish would it?

The cover translates exactly the original score. Notice how VK's right hand played some bass notes simultaneously with the melodic line. Who said that Metal was not scholar music?

This leads to believe they originally wrote this on piano. James and Cliff were both pianists.
@@lewisbirkett4428 believe me the actual lead bass in this song is way complex than you can think, the only problem is its unaudible in the record version just check out the live one in the RTL Deluxe edition box

The intro gets me every time and the solo is ace, perfect job on what is one of my all time favourite songs. Not only the song I consider the most eery in metal history but also the most epic. The build up is brilliant and what it builds up to is fantastic. Great cover of an amazing song.
I know, I didn't want to make it better this time (I like my previous version enough), but I was curious to try something different if I make a 2nd version anyway.
I love this transcription almost more than the S&M version they recorded with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. I wish I had discovered this sooner. Bravissimo.

there just isn't a whole lot I can say to do this justice. First, the playing...your hands are magical...amazing. Second, the song...it is this sort of thing that reminds me just how amazing these songs are. I mean, I knew all along, but hearing it again in a different way, like this, really drives it home for me the genius behind this band.
