    I have walked in your shoes, hang on it's going to be a bumpy ride! Nothing ever goes as planned. I had 2 retrievals and 4 transfers over 2 years. I had multiple miscarriages. We finally gave up because we were paying everything out of pocket. Eight months after we officially gave up, and 6 years after trying, I saw the 2 lines! None less, I saw those 2 lines on my husband's birthday, which happens to be St. Patrick's Day. We have a very lucky 🍀 miracle! We proved 5 doctors wrong and had our son without medical help. Though we spent his college education trying to have him, LOL. Good thing we have years to make it up, he was 3 in November. Best of luck!!

    My gyno recommended me to an infertility specialist an hour away from us. My spouse and I fell in love. There’s nothing like the bond you share with someone who is not only helping you fulfill your wishes of creating another beautiful life but someone who truly cares. We originally went to a specialist closer to us, however, we didn’t get the same treatment. I can’t wait to watch your future videos during this journey. I wish you two nothing but the best 💕

We are thinking of conceiving this year and maybe having another next year. The information you gave was informative but also scary especially the risks of miscarriage as you age. Going into a TTC is always exciting but you never know how the journey will go. Thanks for sharing and I will e following.

  • @katie6753

    I definitely recommend carrier screening - it is just a simple blood test and my insurance covered it entirely. All it does is provide you more information, although admittedly I'm the type of person who wants as much information as possible. You can also just have Tasha get tested first and only if she is a carrier for something bad you can get Joseph tested. Just get the full panel (180+ genetic issues examined). Good luck with IVF!! Infertility treatment is no fun, but it is all worth it when you can hold your baby :)

    I had 3 failed IUIs and then decided to do IVF. My first IVF cycle only 2 of the 3 were ready for implantation. The third wasn't. So we had him preserved. Needless to say the two that were inseminated were lost. But the 3rd one was the charm! It was a journey of highs and lows, being fearful and hopeful at the same time. Wishing you both much success. Fingers crossed for you! I’ve had 2 IVF pregnancies.
    If your provider hasn’t gone over it with you yet, an AMH level above ~3.5 can signal PCOS. PCOS patients tend to have lots of eggs (higher ohss probability, but sounds like you’re doing frozen transfers), but can have lower egg quality. Talk with your physician about supplements or protocols for egg quality.
    Best of luck!! 🍀

    Thank you for talking about your IVF journey. I haven't had more than a fractured bone in my lifetime, and my largest anesthesia was for dental work where I was still awake, so I'm kinda scared knowing that to have kids I'm going to have to go through a bunch of medical stuff (0% chance that it'll happen naturally). It'll be a lot easier to go through it myself when I've gone through it with you first. Thank you so so much!

    I’m so excited for y’all and am hoping for the best! Infertility can be so tough! I thought I would point out that you wouldn’t expect to see a family history of the diseases they look for in carrier screening because most of them are what are called recessive conditions. It’s understandable if you decide not to pursue that type of testing but I wouldn’t weigh lack of family history too strongly in your reasoning. Hopefully they have someone like a genetic counselor to discuss the pros and cons of genetic testing with you and answer any questions you have. I’m so excited to follow your journey!!

    I started IVF last fall, I had a failed fresh transfer, and now just had a failed frozen transfer. I'm the same age as you, so I don't get a lot of eggs, and at this point we'll need to do a new cycle. I hope it works well for you on your first try, but be prepared that it may take several tries before it takes. The medications are what gets really expensive, we're looking in to reputable places we can get them for less, because those add up fast!

    All the very best! I had 5 years of IVF before having my son and 7 miscarriages that were because of abnormal chromosomes. PGS was just coming in and I was all set to use it but I only produced 2 eggs my last IVF cycle, one of which became my son, so they didnt recommend it for such small number. If I were to do it again or, I'd do PGS for sure. As well as heartbreaking, 7 miscarriages wasted so much time. I needed multiple surgeries from them too. I'm glad you feel comfortable with your clinic, it makes such a difference. I actually was awake for all my egg retrievals, my Australian clinic gave fentanyl.

    I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was about 18, after years of complaining to doctors about worsening pain and having that mostly dismissed. For reference, my periods are worse than childbirth. I was then told that pregnancy may not be possible due to the scar tissue.
    I had my daughter age 20, naturally. I was actively trying, but expecting to need IVF. I would like another child one day, but I'm not sure it's going to be possible.
    If I'd had an immediate diagnosis and treatment, I might not have had to face being told that I might not have the life I wanted at 18.

They just felt like little pinches. However, after my egg retrieval, I was in a lot of pain that I did not expect. It felt like my worst period cramps (which aren't awful) times 10 (which was awful). What insurance did you buy to help cover some of the IVF costs?

    • @OneBigHappyLife
      @OneBigHappyLife  5 років тому +1

      Just regular health insurance. Some states require IVF coverage to be included in all plans.--Tasha

    Hello Tasha! I just checked my AMH.... I read and was told by an acupuncturist that anything above 3 is actually pointing to PCOS. Have you heard anything about that?

    • @OneBigHappyLife
      @OneBigHappyLife  5 років тому +1

      High AMH is a potential symptom of PCOS but I do think it's a bit of a stretch to say that anything about 3 points to PCOS. So far none of our doctors have expressed any concerns about PCOS, most likely because I have a regular cycle and have not had trouble ovulating.--Tasha

      Sonja Matthews did you have any other symptoms? Did you figure out a way to heal it?
