At 57 I bought a ZX10r last Nov 23 I still have a smile on my face. The bike is everything you mentioned plus more. It’s the way it makes you feel when riding it. Yes extreme riding position but it’s my Sunday fun bike and I don’t intend to go touring.
Likewise mate. I'm 54 and did the same in December 23. Great bike with brilliant suspension. I find its also quite happy to plod along if stuck in traffic as well, so the relatively gentle bottom end does have benefits on the road 👍
56 now, picked up my 23 ZX10r in January rode it home in snow flurries. I am good for about 8 hours, but my buddies in their 40s can’t go longer than 3 hours😂
For the fuel gauge... all you do is when you top up the tank to full, reset the counter and you'll be able to tell roughly when you need to fill it back up.
Look into the 636 unless you plan on life over 150 mph... I have both... The 636 gives me all the thrills... Big Boss (the 10) always looking around and thinking about the consequences for going the speed the bike demands
@@9thStreetNinjaI'd agree with that , I've had 1000s for the last 20 years went for a zx10 surprisingly left with my order for the 636 .. much more engaging on the road unless your doing 20+ track days a year it's pointless having the 10 other than pub talk and Willy waving , you just can't use it to even half of its potential on uk roads
@@PhilNixon-w6c agreed! I have been on Big Boss for a few months after I purchased him and then the other day, just before making the comment here I took Sonic out (636) and I was blown away at how he was the complete street package. Big Boss is fun, don't get me wrong, but like you said... Unless the track is a big part of your life... It's just sketchy on the road to know that if you unlock the bike you can go to jail or worse... I first bought a parallel twin ninja 400. Next I bought a zx4 RR. Then I bought the 636 and the KLX 300 on the same trip to town. Three months later I bought the big 10 in a hurry to get the anniversary colors. After 5k miles on all of them if I had to choose one and the dirt bike I would have to settle on the 636. 💪🏽👊🏽 🏍️ 🔥🔥🔥
6 months now... How do you like it? I have both the 636 and the 10; Sonic and Big Boss... Gotta say... That 636 is really everything you could want unless you do your time over 150 mph on the reg
I had 2017 ZX-10R (WHich was my first liter bike) and I had riden ZX-6Rs and a R6 for about 15 years before, that one was a nice bike to go to. Have a Speed Triple RR now, good bike, I miss my ZX-10R. YOu need to launch at about 8000-9000 RPMs for quick launch, but I believe this bike will do 0-60 mph in under 3 secs. Having riden so many 600cc bikes before my 1000cc, I learned to chase the high RPMs, and you learn to shift in order to keep it so. I do feel it has enough power (at least my 2017 did) to ride well in streets, and then you rev it up to get the RPMs in the power band, and you shot like a rocket. THing with this bike, I hear its restricted (at least US models are) after 12000 RPMs, and would need ECU flash to fix that. It is quick though. It si Pretty. GSX-R1000 is probably best supersport for street. Firefblade I borrowed one that my buddy has and the 2021 model was too cramped for me (I'm 6 feet tall), but the 2021 ZX-10 was fine for me. R1M was a great bike too for streets, but didn't like to be riden at street speeds. It wanted to be let loose!. NOt much experience with BMWs. but with Akro exhaust, these Kawis are beautiful to hear! But if you want a road biek, get a naked ro cruiser. I won't recomend to get one... But I'd get one myself!
I wouldn't. I'm a year in on a CB650R and I adore her but looking at a ZX10R or MT10 by next year. That said, these bikes will only go as fast as you twist the throttle. But with so much powernat your hand, it's much safer to start on 400/600cc imo. CB650 tops out at 230 KMH and it's CBR counterpart gets up to 250 because of the fairings creating less drag.
If you have restraint. Litre bikes have alot of safeguard rider aids to keep it under control it's when you turn those off is where it gets tricky. With any sport bike 600 and up you definitely need to respect the machine the minute you lose sight of that is when it becomes dangerous.
I just picked one up today and it’s definitely no cruiser but after a small 40 min ride I wasn’t feeling it at all you could def go for a 1.5 hour ride or more no problem just depends on your flexibility you know
The rearsets are a little high I'm 6.1 so it's a little cramped. For reference I don't own one but I'm going back and fourth on a 25 zx10r or a BMW S1k
Brilliant bike, very underrated compared to the R1, the Gixxer 1000 RIP...etc. Its a great machine. BTW the price of the blade is silly....and the Panagale is to expensive and both look bland compared to the Kawi...yes i said it, a Panagale looks dull, nice shape, but all over red again....yawn.
Very nice bike I do like the kawasakis but £18000 for a very uncomfortable ride at my age and problems I’m past that now but if I was in my early 20’s definitely a bike I’d be looking at as well as the r1 take care
Kind of funny, because this also seems like a terrible bike for most in early 20's. When is that sweet spot? I guess gotta have started early to peak at the right time to have the skill, experience, flexibility, recklessness and budget to really enjoy a new litre bike.
Stunning TBF for the price it's probably the deal of the century,.but I still think the best thousand ever made is the gsxr 1000 k5/6 , bit off tuning it's stil can hit 190 hp and absolutely no rider aids and only 168 kgs

Been undecided on a new bike for months, I've always been a Kawi guy and was highly considering a few others instead of the ZX-10R, but you sold me.

Test rode 1 last month , ended up ordering the 636
You could have popped in at The Red Lion for a drink. Used to love taking my bike there ( great river views).

The fact it doesnt come alive till 6k revs, quite literally means to me you could daily this bike with no issues whatsoever.
You can mate, I've got one and it's a pussycat in traffic. Better than the lurchy tracer 9 I used to have 👍

OH! MY GOODNESS!
WOW!
I LOVE IT...!!❤
What a beauty!
I love this bike but Kawi needs to do a Green, purple and white paint scheme!
The 80s are calling, but I am with you…
Their 40th anniversary edition is close enough for me (green/white/blue) I'm picking mine up on Tuesday 😊
Will you try the 2024 zx-6r
Nice review thanks
Would have liked to see how the quick shifter performed tho
I’m considering getting one later in the year
Could you honestly use this as a starter bike and be honest I’ve heard mixed opinions because I’m a new rider … what’s your take on the matter 🍀🍀🍀👍🏽💪
I wouldn't. I'm a year in on a CB650R and I adore her but looking at a ZX10R or MT10 by next year.

Have you test rode the new ZX6 yet? They have a lovely one in 40th anniversary colours in Gloucester. I’ve got my eye on that
how much is it?

The Gen 3 Hayabusa has a Fuel Gauge and Cruise Control .. Just Saying
Mate if you aint test rode the gsxs1000 yet get on it. Awesome bike, well worth a look ✌️
One day soon!
@ 1:17 it's not Stock, has AKRA
make a video of comparison between :
ZX-10R & Z-H2 / ZX-14R
Yes it is stock ...performance edition comes with akra from factory.

ZX10R must come with different colour choice.....
I've seen it in a matte black
It's a ZX10, not Zed X 10!
Well the English pronounce z as zed. Not zee. Guess they are right since they invented the language. We say zed in Australia also.
