It can be nice to have power that you are not using, and to develop the skills to work within that range. Just picked up a 2024 ZX10R ABS on Saturday... getting the ECU flashed this week to unlock the top end power... I might add a set of Helibar Trackstar clipons to improve the wrist comfort a bit... They do a nice job, uses all the stock cables and hoses, is pre-drilled and uses the OEM bar ends, etc... So it looks stock, but puts your wrists at a more natural angle...
I own one. I absolutely love it. Prevfiously I had a ZX9R, then a 2011 ZX10RABS, loved that too, then an H2 SX did not like that cumbersome at low speed, mental fast would wheelie at ludicrous spead. As for my new ZX10R, I would use it daily with the following caveats, very limited for luggage other than a rucksack, remarkably comfy. Lovely light bike, utterly horrific pillion seat unless your passenger is about 12 years old. after that I wouldn't want to park it anywhere because of theiving gypsy bras studs. An absoloute bargain, the downshifter and quick shifter work rather well. In essence if you don't buy one there is something wrong with you.
Only complaint i have is it really likes to faults neutral down shifting when using the quick shifter!Which can catch you by surprise when cornering and downshifting.
Ive got a 23 reg zx10r and you can enjoy the bike on country lanes at normal speeds because the suspension quality and handling is top notch. For a superbike it turns really well even on country roads unlike some other sportsbikes ive owned which need to be travelling rapidly to steer properly. 👍
@@stringersociety9983 bullshit. They did not gain 100hp. I know Chris Moore. I tune bikes as well, Chris gained 20hp up top, he did this using the Woolich racing software to restrict the ETV map. Sit down junior. 😂

I'm very happy with my 2023 Ninja 1000sx, nice riding position and plenty of torque down low and enough power to have fun and get you arrested if you go crazy lol

Last comment, some of th3e BEST fun I got, and a bike I did get all of its usability, which I still own, is my KTM 390 Adventure... Its a bit of a daily driver at times, I toured with it, and the torque on it surprises. I sense had several Bikes (Naked, supersport, and now have it and a SPeed Triple RR, and frankly, the 390 is great. but I miss the ZX-10R and I'd trade the Speed triple RR for it. Also, on liter bikes, you can ride on streets on 1st gear all day long and maybe shift on highway, or for fun... I think the older gen (like the 2017 I had) ZX-10R was an easier street bike to buy and upgrade from 600cc. I did LOVE that bike!
I live approximately 8 miles from my works, any bike would work for that distance.. I don't have the fastest power mode on my 1400. As the fuel it uses is worse than a alcoholic. I have my mode set on full power. Traction 2. If I ever get another bike, or second bike, top speed won't be my priority. Low to mid range would be, unless you track your bike, go to the TT. or autobahn. Were would you get the opportunity to use your full power? Exceleration and mid range you would.. I use my zzr1400 for work (weather pending) and that works fine for me..
People like to say that 4pots are slow down low. I've only ridden Honda's 650, and that feels like my cb500f down low but just gets a lot faster real quick. But how does a 600 or 1000 feel down low? Is it like the Hornet750, is it more, is it less?
I'd say the Hornet would have significantly more punch lower in the range, so more power to play with at slower speeds. But the higher rpms are where the ZX6/10 have all their power, so more difficult to access, at least without getting in trouble 👍
hey man, love the vids. just wondering about your opinion on height for sport bikes. im a learner wanting a yzf 125 but im like 6'1 and get told its going to be suffering. im getting one anyway but i think they are overexaggerating and am trying to get as many opinions as i can. thanks!!!
I’m 6’0 and I started on a ninja 650 and after a few months I could feel how small it was for me. Granted I’m still riding it 5 years later so do what you must with that info my man 🤘
I know one thing people say one things give their opinions on the CX 10 R but one thing I’ve seen a lot on the streets the ZX 10 R it’s always been running faster, then the ZX 14 R put one thing on now people do have an R entitled to their opinions. I think it’s like getting fitted for a suit so to say they get the fit you which you like features and functions quality height speed handling all that good stuff that’s what makes you happy makes you satisfied in the real world in certain little extras that could be done people go out and do it and I look on the motorcycle it is it done that when you getting the most out of your bike and being the most satisfied rider out there in the street, that’s what it comes down to. I see this every day some people say one or another. It comes down to the person that’s riding a bike not the bike riding the person goes the other way and then that’s true results whatever you decide to do whoever is a bike you decide to buy and modify to your liking when you do that you got something. It’s like cooking in the kitchen. You get that fine ingredient going same way with a bike you get the little intangibles, big intangibles, medium or small and then you’re there. I like your work keep doing what you’re doing.👍👍
The only two i4 bikes I'd consider are the ZX-10R and the S1KRR they're both just about as practical as a 200HP+ Superbike can be. If you ever get a chance try to ride a tuned Speed Triple RR it gains 30+ bhp with a good tune and so many of the early reviews are dog crap treating it like a standard naked bike when it's absolutely not and just endlessly complaining about the clip-ons. It's an absolute gem of a bike and really gets overlooked.
Do you have a Speed Triple rr? I heard about the Bren Tune giving it 30hp more but was unsure if that was true or not. Seems like quite a lot. I have an rr and would like more power so I have been checking out the zx-10 as a replacement. However, I am torn bc the fit and finish if the Triumph is superior to the majority of bikes out there.
@@EpiceverythingProductions Sadly haven't had the chance to tune mine yet but from everything I have heard it is very much true. Unless you plan on being primarily track focused I'd stick with the Speed. Both the Speed and the ZX-10 are two of the most heavily restricted bikes stock, with the Speed being limited to something around 60% on the stock map with the ZX-10 being fairly similar being just absolutely dead in the middle and just flat up top. Both bikes desperately need to be tuned. Also I don't think the ZX-10 would be as big of a jump as you are hoping the Speed still absolutely dominates it on torque, my Speed holds its own with my friends lightly tuned S1KRR until about 140 where the Speed starts really hitting its restrictions. Bonus tip not sure if you knew this already but the Speed is a good deal faster in 5th gear than 6th with about a 13mph higher top speed until you get it flashed.
@@shauns5278 thanks man I didn’t know a lot of this info! I will look at the tune first before I decide if I should trade it in for a sportbike. My main riding is the canyons vs the track. My thoughts for trading it for a sportbike would be the faster motor and the full fairing. Sounds like our Speed just needs to be tuned to get the most out of it!
@@EpiceverythingProductions Yeah definitely; the Speed also has better brakes and suspension than the ZX-10R, for the average rider it's definitely the better choice. The ZX really only wins out on absolute peak top end and aerodynamics. The RR with a tune is limited to around 185-190 because of aerodynamics but not sure how often you'd want to go that fast without a steering damper.
I enjoy the ZX4RR a lot, but sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to have all the torque I need at a low, quiet RPM. I need to be in 6th at 35mph to be as quiet as this thing is in 1st at 35mph lol. I think a 600 is the max I'd go for the street though, good middle ground. 110hp is enough
