@@petecabrina you have to land it to release it. It matters from an anglers perspective. In game fishing a trace touch is required.

It's a light I bought from Bunnings, it's an Arlec Dom but needs a powerpoint to run so not sure. I've been looking into a Makita work station light or whatever it's called

Hey shroom I'm 12 years old and I have never caught a flattie before and it's one of my biggest fishing goals to catch one. I live near glebe and fish on the foreshore (South Rozelle Bay/South Blackwattle Bay) and was wondering if you could maybe go fishing there and make a video about catching flattie on lure/bait (whatever you feel like on the day). Thank you so much and I love watching your videos.
lure fishing for flatty is def the way to go but i have caught one by drifting prawn through currnet at windang. Buy zman slim swimz greasy prawn and a jig head headlocks i think and a spot that produces super big flatties is apple tree bay but is hard to catch. An easier place is probably any beach along parra river and also pittwater is good as well

That was one spot I used to fish with mates like twice a week or if the wind was crap and couldnt take the boats out.
The last time i fished there was about 6-7 years ago before i had kids hahahaha
Myself and a bunch of mates used to fish it for hours and hours on end, its a very hit and miss spot...... weve caught some good fish there but also MANY,MANY cold nights with a fat doughnut lol but regaurdless it was always better than sitting at home.

Do they close any gates to that place at night? The website says the entrance is closed after 530pm, but I don’t recall seeing any gates anywhere. I’ve tried fishing there recently, but left early because didn’t want to get locked in!

Third time Lucky? Nope, just pure SKILL!! What a nice bank flip on a stud fish. No net? HOW are you hoping to land that metrey mulloway? LOL, I have only just gotten a net, after breaking a rod on a nice trout. It is getting a work out and a half.
Lucky you dropped that eel, they are a real pain when they take your hook, then you have to fight their slime, knot tying and biting to remove it, only to find that it has tangled itself into your line, so now has to be removed, all while biting at your fingers and hands. Yep, I have caught a few...
Love the winter bream in estuaries and rivers. The big blue noses get active :) Pity you pulled the hooks. I had to bust off a big rainbow a couple of days ago when I could not reach it with the net. My short little arms and a trout net are not enough for some river banks 😆 'This plan was not thought through at all' was all I had to say about situation when it hit.

You are no amateur, just a person who has not had a lot of experience. We are all amateurs when it comes to it. No professional scene to speak of. Sure, some guys are lucky enough to be sponsored by the big names. Most just make the vids for the love of fishing. I have 150+ and just hope people learn a little something from watching them. Never made a cent off fishing, but had a heap of fun and gained some experiences no one else ever has. THAT is payment enough to keep me going back, I hope it keeps you going back in those long slogs when nothing seems to work.
The experience of a doughnought can teach a lot about how fish behave. Pay attention to what gets bites, what gets solid hook ups, how the fish might play with a bait before taking it (many pull the hooks too hard on a strike, many too early as the fish is just tasting, especially whiting, many too late as the fish has tasted and dropped, bream, looking at you )😠 Pay attention to what works, but also to what does not. Everything else might be perfect, but you might have applied insect repellent and not washed your hands.
Never seen someone make bream fishing seem like fighting a 5kg+ snapper 😂

Is there any particular reason you put the live yakka facing away from the line?
I put it deeper on the hook tail side so the bait won't go flying off as I usually try the biggest cast I can
You a rigging those lives back to front head facing rod tip they last longer and easier to cast .
I do because I hook deeper tail side of if I want to launch it as hard as I can Frank but I get what you’re saying

Long finned eel or could be a short finned eel . Both similar in appearance. Seems to me the difference between the two are the length of the fins of the eel and one of the two species are really slow growers . I just googled eel species in Hawkesbury river . Thanks again for another quality production film shroom 😮
