Yup! Though I'd generally rather make Stream Deck commands to reduce memorization needs. That said, for some things you'd use frequently totally worth it!
I have an XL, a Mini and a Pedal and the Mini is basically only for pedal profiles. I'm currently looking for a good reason to get the new one with the knobs... I'm sure I'll find one soon, because I really want it.
Thanks! I’m constantly looking for creative ways of saving time and hassle with stream deck. But all videos are the same old all the time, this was a little “next level”. So let me share some more ideas: I have one profile for each client. And on each client I have made shortcuts to each clients google docs that I need all the time. I’ve also added URL-links to each clients social media places, where I work for them. I have made some text blocks that I insert in my time report each day, and buttons going straight to websites that I often need. Not only does it make my workflow faster and more smooth, the deck itself also reminds me of all things I need to do for the client. Please share more creative ways of using it (that are not the usual built in stuff) or links to videos with great content on this topic!
I may just have to copy your per-client profile system! I've been working freelance, and as my clientele grows, this would really help me keep everything organized
Hey thanks for this video. Do you know a solution to resize and position app windows on mac? I'm trying to make a multi action button that opens all the apps I need for work and positions them on screen but all the solutions I've found are windows only.
The thing that bothers me about the text button is it doesn't work in Microsoft Remote Desktop. Just spits out a string of letter a. (as of 6/21/24) Watch them fix this now that I've said something. Also in Microsoft Teams for mac, using strings like "site is stopping, standby" for some reason gets occasionally mixed up and it will type "stopping is standby site" Very strange.
This was interesting, was watching to see if there are any plugins that can replicate the BarRaider Super Macro functionality on Mac. Seems like at least most things could be done, but is there anything that allows you to automate mouse actions like you can with that?
I can’t undersrand yet how it can be usefull with a mac for non creative soft : i speak to google to the lights, i have all my soft on the bar on the screen and a key to display all app ’control’, i can create shortcuts, aliases, i leave my hand on the mouse and the keyboard, i hafe volume and luminosity on the jeyboard....... with my mouse and a rigyt coick i have a context menu to change thinks... i don’t want to MOVE my hand all the time to and from and other device. APPLE will create fonctions to make this useless. I can reoember few shorcuts and microsoft office put buttons everywhere or in help menu i can access to every hidden fonctions... And when diri will be usefull.... I speak for burotic use. Add few little softwares, chrome extensions, my scarlett for sound fonction ahd withba macbook pronyou canbcustomize the tool bar. Did APPLE create the idea of the stream deck with the lcd toolbar of the macbook ???
It is clear you are very knowledgeable and enjoy exposing the world to the possibilities of stream deck and also how to integrate with other tools you have become familiar with. I understand how becoming focused on a new aspect that is so great it motivates you to integrate other things you know and your expertise grows exponentially. I am that way myself. I have become involved with stream decks and see the tremendous uses mostly outside of streaming. I found myself watching your entire video which was great exposure and left me simply moving onto something else for now….. I felt the need to tell you how the video was informative and you are so motivated with how you get so much organized productivity……. On the other hand, I was thinking if you had something that had some links,,.. like if you want to pursue xxxxx click here and other links……. It might get me to follow a link. I have two StreamDeck XLs side by side and one use case is to have keys that switch the profiles on the other.
