As someone new to the Ocarina, I was looking for an instrument the at I could play, This one sounded amazing and at a price range that was perfect for me, sorry My Handpan friends. This is my first Ocarina, hopefully not my last. Thank you for your recommendation

Why did I choose an Ocarina? I've been looking for an instrument for a long time, My friend has a Handpan (amazing), but when I saw a group of people in China practicing together, I thought, Dang that's the Zelda instrument, I had forgotten all about it. A little research and I was a sold. No double reed instrument for me, Ocarina all the way. I went with the 12AC-PSE-BK Black and Rose by Taiwan company, Focalink / StienOcarina.

How you describe the breath requirement, is it low?

I have a Bravura but I think Focalink's other plastic Ocarina is better, it's called 12ACP-rivo on their website. Can't seem to find them anywhere else for some reason. They have grooves for the subholes, making fingering low notes easier. It's also easier to blow the high notes than the Bravura. Honestly, if anyone is thinking of getting a Bravura, the rivo(?) is a better choice for a beginner. I would've just bought them in the first place if I had known.

I impulsively bought my ocarina at a Renaissance festival near me, ive wanted to learn an instrument again since i havnt played in maybe 20 years. It seemed fun. Having had it for all of 5 days lol there is much i dont know and these videos are helpful. Quick (inexperienced question) the is a an "AC" pressed into the body of my ocarina. Does the AC mean Alto C? Ive heard that term alot.

I've just followed your advice. I'm very happy with both. The plastic one surprised me by it's solidness and it's tone. I'm just starting learning and I'm very enthusiastic. The ceramic has a lovely tone too.

I bought the same one as 10:20 the ocarina of time replica , but It came in a bag pouch wrapped in bubble wrap, glad it didn't break as it was a gift to a friend who doesn't play it just leaves it as a decoration

I played a tonette in grade school. I enjoyed it (I got stuck with a trombone in 6th grade and quit band!) Pre Recorder as the instrument in my school. I think I'd enjoy an ocarina. Maybe?
