In a genocide run, the fight with Toriel is when you realize that you are a villain. The fight with Undyne is when you realize that you are a final boss, ultimate evil level super villain.
@@devinsanderson9483 Pretty sure you forgot a brain. Protagonist means the main character. The one who you play as. The antagonist is the one who opposes the protagonist. A protagonist can be a villain as long as you play has him/her. The antagonist can be a hero as long as he/she opposes the villain protagonist.
A detail I don't hear nearly enough people mention is how quiet Undyne is during this fight. I've heard people say characters like Mettaton and Sans are more heroic than Undyne in this route because they know they can't win but still step up to you anyway, compared to Undyne who genuinely believes she can beat you. If you notice though, Undyne doesn't say a word until you deal the final blow. She doesn't taunt you for being low health, she doesn't boost her ego as she attacks like she does in Pacifist/Neutral. She's... Focused. Her attacks are methodical, and she is fully concentrated on defeating you. Undyne, the character with a fiery passion for battle, the character who berates you for being the enemy throughout the entirety of your battle with her in the other routes, the character who gasses herself up in every regard like someone trying to be a main character, the character who is emotionally motivated- is silent. She doesn't flaunt her strength suplexing boulders, she doesn't even change expression unless you hit her. Undyne is the most concentrated and level-headed she has ever been throughout the entirety of this game in the battle that matters the most. Undyne has confidence in herself, but she doesn't keep moving forward with the belief that she CAN beat you. She fights on and keeps her thoughts to herself because she believes that she NEEDS to beat you. Not just for monster kind, no. For EVERYONE. Even the people she grew up to despise, the humans that trapped them all underground. She fights for the world as a whole. Not only is Undyne a hero, she's the most heroic character of the bunch that are relevant in this route. This just shows that while Undyne can be a bit egotistical at times, and she can be emotionally charged with her decision making, she's an honest hero when she's needed. She has compassion for everyone when there is justice that needs to be upheld, when there is a threat to the peace that needs to be destroyed. Undyne is the main character here; the true hero.
Not really the words protagonist and antagonist are not about who is good or bad, but based on who we follow in the story. You are still the protag, but you have became the villain.
You'll always be the Protagonist, but you won't always be a Hero. Edit: so this comment blew up, but a lot of people don’t understand what a protagonist is. By definition: the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text.
+Shame You'd think that, but that's not what an antagonist means. An antagonist is a character who gets in the way of the protagonist; someone who opposes the protagonist. The Protagonist is the major character; the leading role. The Fallen Child/Frisk, the character we play as, would be the protagonist no matter which route you take. If we played as the Monsters, then the Fallen Child/Frisk would be the antagonist. 8D
@@srsrerror7761ZUN is probably the god of composing game-music. All his theme songs for all his characters are lovely, dramatic, magical, sad, joyful, pure, and those key changes just are very interesting. I haven't played both game, Touhou and Undertale, but in my thoughts, Touhou always better. (Maybe because i am a dumb kid who enjoys Japanese-animation style, especially ZUN's style😂)

Toby encourages players not to do Genocide, but at the same time puts some of the best music in Genocide edit 12/27/22: okay guys, i get it, i never said the best music was restricted to ONLY genocide, i just said SOME of the best music. and besides it was my own opinion anyways. so can i stop getting the same reply notifications that ive been getting from this comment for the last 3 years? youd think after the first 20 id have gotten the message. thanks.
Azeara Azymoto I did the true ending. Now I can’t do genocide because I always think of how happy the characters are at the surface then it all resets.
The songs make you feel that perhaps what you are doing is wrong and messed up and that you should stop but guess people don't notice that. I def felt something was off when this music played.
You know, this fight is actually really sad when you think about it. Undyne likely knows she's going to die regardless of whether she wins or loses (harnessing determination and whatnot), but stands her ground anyways to protect her friends and loved ones no matter the cost. This is her final stand; The culmination of one's entire mental, physical and spiritual journey leading up to this one moment of great sacrifice. Truly the most noble thing a person can hope to accomplish. Of course, at the time, this emotion is vastly overshadowed by the fact that HOLY SHIT THIS FIGHT IS REALLY HARD. I don't think I struggled nearly as much on anything in neutral or pacifist as l did with this fight. Not even close, and I believe this was done on purpose. You see in retrospect that, the reason the fight was so hard was because Toby wanted you to lose all sympathy for this character in the moment. You don't simply beat undyne the undying on your first try and be done with it. You have to detach yourself and BECOME the cold, heartless killer you set out to be whether you realize it or not. I don't think I've ever seen such exceptional, layered writing in a video game before. This is why people love undertale. If nothing else then hey, at least the music is amazing, and that we can all appreciate.
All of this is part of why Undyne is the true hero. Like sure Sans does the same thing, relentlessly trying to stop you... but he has very different motivations, as he has a much grander insight to the world. He doesn't stop you because you killed a bunch of people, no he would have stopped you much earlier if that was the case. I mean for gosh sake you killed Papyrus, his brother, and countless others before now. Sans stops you because he knows at that ending scene if he doesn't stop you, everything is lost and the universe basically is destroyed. I'm not going to sit here and say Sans is terrible for waiting, but it is clear he isn't acting for the same reasons as Undyne, and her motivation and determination directly parallel what you are supposed to exhibit in the pacifist route. And its fantastic
This is, in my opinion, the best song in the game. It's epic, it's emotional, and the last section is one of the best pieces of music in any game, ever. 7 years later, this song is as good as it always was.
Some of the best music is not the best in terms of the music itself, but in the terms of memories : not only is the song at least decent, its also connected to a great fight and an emotional moment
You've become a monster. You have no soul (practically). And the fact that even some of them spare YOU, means that they are more human than any monster.
The way the Genocide run works in Undertale is really brilliant and what sets it apart from other games. In Undertale, the Genocide wrong *feels* wrong. Not just because of the story, but because of the gameplay. It's not natural, it's inconvenient, it's not rewarding. Running in circles to kill every monster isn't fun, and it will never happen naturally. The money you get doesn't matter because you can just steal everything from the empty shops. All bossfights but 2 become oneshots, totally unfun. At every point the Genocide run feels like you're not supposed to play the game like this. In many games you kill thousands of enemies, in many games you can do evil shit and the NPCs will call you a monster. But in Undertale, the gameplay itself makes you feel like what you're doing is wrong. The game becomes empty, in many ways it becomes an objectively worse game. The difficulty curve is completely thrown out the window, most fights become trivial and 2 are impossibly hard. The story largely vanishes. And while we all still did it, at some point I think we all asked ourselves: "Do I really want to do this?" That's what sets Undertale apart from other games. Most games wouldn't dare to make the game worse on purpose like that, but Undetale does and it's brilliant.
The Undyne and Sans battles were absolutely incredible though so I think that is a reward enough for all the grinding and 1 shot bosses, beating those bosses was soooo satisfying :D
Exactly, what Toby is trying to say is that it’s a meaningless act of evil that leads you to nothing but darkness. And that you MUST change or you’ll regret it forever.
Gentlemen it's official. ZUN will do an arrangement of this theme and Toby Fox an arrangement for Flandre's theme, for the game danmaku kagura. We are living the best time line.
Undyne has the BRAVERY to take you on, She has the JUSTICE to strike you down, She has the KINDNESS to protect others, She has the PATIENCE to last through this fight, She has the INTEGRITY to keep monsterkind undivided, She has the PERSERVERENCE to keep going, She has the DETERMINATION to make you try a little harder than that!
1:55 i absolutely LOVE this final segment. that melody plays like SIX times, keeping up the energy. it describes the battle PERFECTLY. both of you should have died long ago but you keep the fight going and neither of you are gonna give up that easily
It makes it worse that the fight is really hard, so when you've fought for a while it gets frustrating and you start caring less about the story and characters and then when it's over, you're just glad to see her die, like some heartless killer. Sorry, I didn't mean to upset the hardcore undertalers, I'm just not that well read up on Chara's backstory. There, I changed it.
the way she screamed: "ALPHYS, I-" in the end sounded like she was going to tell her that she loved her. but then she couldn't. and aplhys was probably crying, alone, seeing her loved one die from the screens.
@@JustDhav that only happens in a neutral route if you kill mettaton or undyne from my knowledge (does not count with mettaton neo as then you just get her telling you she shouldve killed you when you had the chance)
After Alphys upgrades your phone and you can get messages from her, she tells that she forgot to watch Undyne fight the human. I think this only works in pacifist/normal
everytime that came up on the dialogue box I would say "You know what else is howling? My Determination to beat you!" I was trying to hype myself up and it still took SO. MANY. TRIES. to beat her

+Vivian James It doesn't matter what you call it. It has many names, and takes many shapes. But in the end, it's always the same. A cruel being with a lust for blood.
The whole Undyne scene completely shifts the philosophy of the game. Your choices don’t matter anymore. You aren’t the hero, you’re the villain. The choices of Undyne now matter more than you. You won, but your no longer human, you might as well be a beast.
Pretty much the two (mayor) Genocide song paralel the player and the monster being fought. In Battle against a True the song wants to sounds heroic even happy at some times but always colliding with the (minor third) With sans Megalovania Its welp megalomania You are doing all of this just for power? Curiosity?
Undyne was the only character in Undertale other than Frisk with the ability to refuse death thanks to her determination AND the only monster to have determination without Alphy's experiments. She's geniunly an amazing character and deserved so much more attention along with Asgore. Yeah, I'm complaining about the fandom fixation on Sans when it was alive.
The silly nice guy Sans is during any run besides genocide is charming. The cherry on the pie, however, is the fact that even though you kill his beloved brother, he's willing to allow you to continue your with journey hoping for you to push reset and make the right choice next time, unless you become a threat who not even the true hero who surpased King Asgore could stop since he knows what you'd become if you cross that line. My favorite character is Undyne, by far, but I can't deny how well written is Sans.
@@mithril5155 Personally, I think the ruins leitmotif represents the hope of the monsters leaving the underground. Waterfall has this leitmotif, showing that their hopes of leaving have slowly faded. Undyne has this leitmotif in Spear of Justice, showing she is hellbent on getting your soul to save everyone. The ruins leitmotif in An Ending shows that the hope is basically gone with all of the human souls destroyed.
Ost 80: you're saving the world from a godly monster. Ost 89: you're saving your friends from a seemingly unkillable god but turns out he's just your another friend with emotional breakdown. Ost 98: a very strong fish lady is saving the world from you.

I'll never forget how relieved and happy I felt when I finally killed Undyne, I was estatic and proud of myself for finally finishing a fight that had taken me long hours... and then it hit me- Undyne was actually one of my favorite characters, and I felt awful that I felt happy I killed her in the first place! This game is so good at making you care for the characters and giving you a whiplash of emotions during genocide. I definitely felt guilty and I thought it was amazing how a game could make me feel such real emotions

@@chrysokitrino5639 no i think it is, you have a chance to just stay on the pacifist route, not ripping the good ending away, instead you reset and betray every single character killing them all, thus being a villain
+Geometry Dash Jake Actually, "your" battle theme is Megalovania. Because Sans' battle theme is "Song that might play when you fight Sans", but it's not used anywhere in the game, cause you don't fight Sans, but Sans fights you.
I love 1:35 because at the right pace you will get to the spinning arrow attack and a new set of arrows will spawn every 3 beats in the song and it is synced very well.
This is probably one of the most tragic songs. Other routes are about her facing reality that she'll not be the hero she wanted to be. Whereas this one she does become it and it's the worst case scenario.
The genocide route brings the worst in you, and the best in the main characters. Toriel-Dies while keeping you in the Ruins Papyrus-Instead of hunting you he tries to find the good in you, dies doing it Undyne-Connects with the world on a magical level and harnesses the power to defeat/give some time to evacuate hotland. Alphys-Despite her past wrongdoings, she stands up for what is right and creates a war robot as well as an elaborate evacuation plan (we never find where they're hiding) Mettaton-No longer a narcissistic party robot, now a killing machine, determined to stop you... uh, he didn't really last as long as undyne, did he? Sans-Stops being lazy because even though you can reset as long as you want, he fights you because its the only way to stop you from getting LV20. Which would give you infinite power.
@@QUBIQUBED I do not þink Alphys actually evacuated ðe monsters. Undyne mentions ðat Alphys evacuated ðe King, but Asgore is still in his palace, and ðe enemies in Hotland are still ðere. I do not þink Alphys had time to evacuate everyone, or even where to evacuate everyone. Ðe True lab has ðe Amalgamates which would be too stressful for her. And seeing what she does in ðe Neutral routes, I am pretty sure Alphys commited Suicide. Leaving ðe Monsters to fend for ðemselves, and also since Sans and Chara comment on ðere being absolutely noþing left at all. Ðe Monsters where most likely killed by someþing or had no supplies to hide forever.
Undyne is the hero of her own story. A heroine reforged by determination to save the earth! And this is her final boss. Her final battle. Struck down by you. You're not a monster. To call you such a thing would be disrespectful to them. What you are, is an evil, demented wretch of a being with no regard for life. and you're going to have a BAD TIME.
+Sai Hitaku (Seraphicus) This has been sticking with me since I first read it...ouch...my heart can't take this... This is why I won't ever do a genocide run.
+DecepticonPointblank I think this game's metaphor is that most RPGs(or most games for that matter) are usually genocide runs in a sense, as you go around killing countless "monsters" and "evil beings", mostly just to get stronger and "level up"... I think undertale may have ruined video games for me...
Man, the name of the track is what gets me the most. "Battle Against a True Hero." It's almost as if the game is singling you out for what you've done. Chances are, you've done a True Pacifist run beforehand, and are now completing a Genocide run out of curiosity. All the monsters in the Underground thought that you were a hero, helping them with their problems, taking the time to understand them, and ultimately liberating them from their prison and allowing them to live out their dreams. But you're no hero, are you? You're a dirty brother killer. You're a filthy murderer. You're a person who is willing to commit genocide out of morbid curiosity. You're not a true hero. You see that warrior, standing up to an unstoppable force who *will* win no matter what? Who took a blow for an innocent kid trying to do the right thing, and through sheer willpower and love for her friends, was able to rise from her own ashes? *That's* what a true hero looks like. And you deserve all the Game Overs she gives to you for what you've done.
+Xiao Andy My name is Undyne Martell, and before you die, I will hear you confess! Say it, say their names! You deceived them, you murdered them, you killed their children!

Fun Fact: Even if Undyne the Undying would have managed to kill you, she still would have died. Monsters are not able to handle Determination and since Undyne had this much amount of it, it made her stronger, but the effect wouldn‘t last long and the after effects would melt her like she did in the Neutral run. As the True Lab showed us, Monsters turn into Amalgamates due to a little bit of determination. In Genocide or Neutral, there never is a Happy ending for her off screen.
@@Archangel_3 that misses the point. You can spare Undyne in neutral. Neutral doesn't mean "you kill everyone you meet but not everyone in every area" but it just means that it's not true Pacifist nor genocide. Neutral is a very diverse route. You can spare half the people and kill the other half however you like, do alternate pacifist where you don't kill anyone but don't go to true lab either, or near-genocide where you leave like one froggit alive and kill every other being in the game. Neutral doesn't mean you kill Undyne, neutral means you CAN kill Undyne.
The slowed down part makes me visualize everything Undyne has experienced in life. Asgore finding her. Her meeting Papyrus for the first time. Meeting Alphys for the first time. Joining the Royal Guard and eventually becoming its leader. Then when it ramps up she goes all out. It's so sad.
I absolutely love the fact that in genocide Undyne is a true hero, protecting the world from a murderer who destroyed every monster they met up until her,and she sacrifices herself for every monster and human. She knows if Frisk gets out of the underground, they will continue their destruction in the outer world. She knows she is going to die but she fights anyway. And then in neutral and pacifist she burns her house down while cooking spagetti
I love the titles "Battle Against a True Hero" and "Spear of Justice" on the one hand, hearing BAATH on a genocide run conveys the message to YOU that you are battling the hero, and YOU are the villain in this story but on the other hand, in a pacifist route, the only song you'll hear is "Spear of Justice", which does not paint Undyne as the hero, but rather as a simple warrior trying to avenge her species, hence her spear of "justice" undyne's actions in a pacifist route may be justified but undyne's actions in a genocide route are heroic
Seeing people suddenly talk about Touhou in this comment section fills you with... Confusion??? Jokes aside, Im hyped for Zun's rendition of Battle against a true hero, im sure it will be an absolute BANGER!
@OofTheUsername the creator of touhou, ZUN, uses an instrument that is a trumpet that sounds different, for a lot of the songs in touhou. Thus it is called a zunpet 1:45 at the switch changes to the zunpet
Even after 7 years, this game still remains in our hearts, in our soul. Stay determined! P.S. Even after 8 years, of course P.P.S. Even after 9 years, true hero.
I just realized that the title of the song is a reference to Earthbound. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, basically, most of the Battle Themes’s Titles in the Earthbound OST usually follow the “Battle Against a ” format. For example, the battle theme for enemies in early parts of the game is called “Battle Against a Weak Opponent”, and the battle theme for most enemies later on is “Battle Against a Weird Opponent”.
What a suiting song. Last line of defense attacking a human- no, an anomaly head-on, with fear being suppressed for the sake of not just monsterkind, but humanity as well. In her normal fight, she's bouncing around, talking smack, constantly trying to make the human give her a reason to kill them. But this? She's silent, unwavering. She has every right and reason to kill it, and she's not letting fear get in the way of that. Deep inside, she's terrified, but she won't show it.
My brother played through and got the true ending. I told him not to do a genocide run, but he went and did it anyway. Was horrified he killed Toriel in a single hit and how her dialogue changed, along with the save zones changing. What he didn't expect was this and how brutal she is. Well, he'll get good at blocking, or he'll need to go get some better healing items. After all, The Hero has appeared to defeat the villain, because the good guys always win... Right?
That Guy Who Is Much Smarter Than You Oh, he had to reset and NOT eat all the snowman pieces as soon as he got them. He also fought "higher value targets" instead of whimsum and froggits. So he fought her at level 11 and beat her. Then he got to Sans. He didn't see anything about how he fought and he got MASSACRED on the first opening gambit at least twice. about 20 tries later, he finally got to the part where Sans offers Mercy. Because I warned him about the permanent file messup if you finish genocide, he decided to accept Sans Mercy. He was stunned, then laughed and considered it his "ending" of that run before doing pure pacifist again.
That Guy Who Is Much Smarter Than You Reaching asgore results in you being locked into the final sequence and chara holding your game hostage until you agree to screw it over for all time (unless you can wipe even the steam cloud save). He decided to not kill sans and instead let the "mercy kill" be how his genocide run ended.
Oh my god, you have no idea how much respect I gained for undyne when I saw her become undyne the undying. Undyne is willing to sacrifice herself to save the life on an innocent. That's already pretty brave and amazing. But then she literally rises from her own ashes and becomes something bigger to, not only protect the innocent, but to stop something that she knows has the power to end everything in an instant. Almost no one in the game asides sans and undyne choose to stand up to something as evil as this. These two characters are the protagonists. Undyne is extremely respectable as she's the first person to say "Ya know what? I'm not going to sit and watch everyone die at my hands." Undyne is willing to stand up to the face of evil. She can come back from death to protect what she believes in. Now THAT is what I call a hero. Sans is respectable in the sense he literally knows he can't beat you. But. He's built up so much hatred for you. You killed everyone he ever cared about. He's a man with nothing left to lose. And he takes a stand, like undyne before him. And papyrus also tries to stop this radical genocide, he just handled it in a way he thinks will give the best outcome for everyone; taming you. GOD I love these three characters they are so awesome
After 7 years of this game being released and having listened to it several hundred times, I realized that at minute 1:36 chimes begin to ring, which are associated with the snow, do you know who lived in the snow? Papyrus, who at this point in the genocidal game should already be dead thanks to you, Undyne reminds you of what you took from him and that's why later the song comes back stronger, as if Undyne was furious when she remembered it.
@@666-v1h I’m going to take you on a trip down memory lane. Remember the date that you have with Alphys on True Pacifist? Well, after Alphys runs off with Papyrus to exercise, Undyne confronts our human with a question. “Is anime real?” She says this with a desperate look in her eye, as she continues to bombard the player with worry over whether or not it’s real. Someone that didn’t like anime wouldn’t even have a second thought that a cartoon was real. But Undyne likes anime so much that the believes that it’s real. Next time, do your research before attempting to contradict a random stranger on the internet.
Fun fact: In Polish the same word - bohater - is used for "protagonist" and "hero". Think about the possibilities. "You might be a bohater of this story... But you'll never be a true bohater"
Ok so for those of you who have encountered comments referring to smth called a ZUNpet: Basically, at around 1:54, the trumpet that kicks in is the same trumpet sample commonly used in the music for the bullet hell series Touhou. This series is soley made by a man who goes by the name ZUN. Trumpets (nicknamed ZUNpets by fans) are a staple of Touhou music and always manage to stand out and sound unique in many tracks. This is a purposeful reference made by Toby, as he is a huge Touhou fan (especially with the music). As one person once said in reference to Touhou music: "It's so weird. Here, this trumpet works so well. But if it were used anywhere else, it'd make me want to rip my ears out..." (

Aeron Le N.
You play Infamous don't you?
+Shame You'd think that, but that's not what an antagonist means. An antagonist is a character who gets in the way of the protagonist; someone who opposes the protagonist. The Protagonist is the major character; the leading role. The Fallen Child/Frisk, the character we play as, would be the protagonist no matter which route you take.
If we played as the Monsters, then the Fallen Child/Frisk would be the antagonist. 8D

Don’t do genocide first* you have to do it for the true ending though.
Azeara Azymoto
I did the true ending.
Now I can’t do genocide because I always think of how happy the characters are at the surface then it all resets.
The songs make you feel that perhaps what you are doing is wrong and messed up and that you should stop but guess people don't notice that. I def felt something was off when this music played.
Genocide is like the actual story
Undyne is a true hero, she is willing to sacrifice herself to save the innocent and people she loves.
She is also willing to sacrifice her home to teach you to cook pasta.
*What a true hero.*
And her house for a cooking lesson
@Fake Bob may she rest in peice
Thats why her theme is called "a battle against a true hero"
Mettaton too
You know, this fight is actually really sad when you think about it.
Excellent theory mat, keep up the hard work
Also think about Asgore too
All of this is part of why Undyne is the true hero.

Brenduck You're not a monster. That's an insult to monsters
I don't know if that was directed toward me, but if it was, sick burn. If it was toward Chara, then HA, sick burn.
And while we all still did it, at some point I think we all asked ourselves: "Do I really want to do this?"
That's what sets Undertale apart from other games. Most games wouldn't dare to make the game worse on purpose like that, but Undetale does and it's brilliant.
@@juniorhpp you know what happens if you try pacifist after genocide right?

Undyne is the hero of her own story. A heroine reforged by determination to save the earth! And this is her final boss. Her final battle. Struck down by you. You're not a monster. To call you such a thing would be disrespectful to them. What you are, is an evil, demented wretch of a being with no regard for life. and you're going to have a BAD TIME.

Fun Fact:
Even if Undyne the Undying would have managed to kill you, she still would have died.
At that point in the game, killing the player would have been the only thing Undyne wanted, even if it meant herself dying with the player
@@danny_boi3537 Exactly
well, in a bad neutral ending at least. alternate pacifist is also technically a neutral run too. but yes.
@@bredoffender In neutral you kill Undyne
It's so sad.
has?
When she generated her own determination during that fight, regardless of weather she killed you or not she was gonna melt and die.

And then in neutral and pacifist she burns her house down while cooking spagetti
fucking. legend.

Somehow, Undyne can be both the most intimidating and sad character and the funniest character
Now that's good character writing
@@EEE.654 that’s why she’s amazing
i thought that, canonically, if you were genocide, you were Chara instead?
I love the titles "Battle Against a True Hero" and "Spear of Justice"
on the one hand, hearing BAATH on a genocide run conveys the message to YOU that you are battling the hero, and YOU are the villain in this story
but on the other hand, in a pacifist route, the only song you'll hear is "Spear of Justice", which does not paint Undyne as the hero, but rather as a simple warrior trying to avenge her species, hence her spear of "justice"
undyne's actions in a pacifist route may be justified
but undyne's actions in a genocide route are heroic

I just realized that the title of the song is a reference to Earthbound.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, basically, most of the Battle Themes’s Titles in the Earthbound OST usually follow the “Battle Against a ” format. For example, the battle theme for enemies in early parts of the game is called “Battle Against a Weak Opponent”, and the battle theme for most enemies later on is “Battle Against a Weird Opponent”.
It’s also the perfect title for this song
oh also undertale's menu matches the earthbound (mother 2) menu, and deltarune's matches the mother 3 menu
Battle against the Masked Man
What a suiting song.
1:55 That ZUNpet is so lovely
Beatiful references
TouHou
The track number is also a reference (pc 98)
@Bruno 79 There is. A LOT OF EM.
Right?
just watch his ass fight sans
***** BTW killing sans doesn't finish genocide, asgore does
That Guy Who Is Much Smarter Than You Reaching asgore results in you being locked into the final sequence and chara holding your game hostage until you agree to screw it over for all time (unless you can wipe even the steam cloud save). He decided to not kill sans and instead let the "mercy kill" be how his genocide run ended.
***** yeah I couldn't handle genocide. I used a save file editor to get to the undyne and sans battles and I beat them and gave up
Oh my god, you have no idea how much respect I gained for undyne when I saw her become undyne the undying.
One problem is that protagonists doesn't mean hero many people mix those 2 things up but the protagonist is just the leading/main character of a story
And mettaton neo
3?
And the songs make you feel a sense of terror that perhaps you're the bad guy here
don’t forget mah boi mettaton
After 7 years of this game being released and having listened to it several hundred times, I realized that at minute 1:36 chimes begin to ring, which are associated with the snow, do you know who lived in the snow? Papyrus, who at this point in the genocidal game should already be dead thanks to you, Undyne reminds you of what you took from him and that's why later the song comes back stronger, as if Undyne was furious when she remembered it.
This made me cry
Just remember, this is the theme of a fish that loves anime and dinosaurs, as well as having burned her house down trying to cook spaghetti.

ZUNPETS!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so for those of you who have encountered comments referring to smth called a ZUNpet:
Basically, at around 1:54, the trumpet that kicks in is the same trumpet sample commonly used in the music for the bullet hell series Touhou.
But if it were used anywhere else, it'd make me want to rip my ears out..." (
Interestingly enough, I believe ZUN called this track his favourite out of the Undertale OST.
