I love to watch the left hand of the string players !
Fantastic sound !!!
A deaf man could tell this is a great Performance simply by watching the body language of the Musicians !
Some comments here fall a bit short of the mark, I think. I find the tempi this director has chosen, and his general approach to this work, to be quite appropriate; I think the composer would have appreciated it. I'm "old" enough to have heard most of the "old school" directors (I won't mention names!) interpret this and similar pieces, and I find it refreshing to hear a newer generation of musicians brushing off a few cobwebs from these venerable but seemingly stiffened pieces. I applaud WDR lustily! JAT
Beethoven is tops for Woodwinds !
Una meraviglia di armonia e slancio la Settima di Beethoven.

We absolutely agree, that he is a beast ;) We hope you enjoyed the symphony. Here we have another Video with our hornist Paul van Zelm, maybe you like that one too? ua-cam.com/video/2T3Sedbx5yU/v-deo.html
