I just wonder why Krull has a more humanoid skull painted on his face... But given how common humans are in the Realms, it makes some sort of sense to intimidate them rather than other tortles.
I actually killed Arkhan during desent into avernus and became the champion My character was a gold dragonborn named sunspire But after becoming champion I made him sunspire the maleficent
So this question is for anyone who has run or played in the D&D Beyond 5e campaign setting called "Decent Into Avernus". Does anyone know out of curiosity how an enemy NPC character named Krull (you can probably just Google 5e Krull stat block) which is supposed to have a simple a +1 Maul, also seems to deal an additional 2d8 necrotic damage as well? Here's what the weapon attack entry on the stat block says for the weapon. +1 Maul. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage plus 9 (2d8) necrotic damage. Again the question is, "How does it deal an additional (2d8) necrotic portion of the damage if it's supposed to be just a simple +1 Maul?" Here's a link to the D&D Beyond page for him, though I believe you may need the campaign module unlocked to have access to the stats... www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/417126-krull Also, according to Joe's video here at the 2:18 portion of this video, it says that the Maul is supposed to have frost capabilities. Makes me wonder if the creators just changed this cold damage to necrotic. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Hey boss, it's a late as hell response but I belive I have your answer. Krill is classified as a death Domain Cleric, it makes sense with his spells, aesthetic and also how he can use a martial weapon. Now they can't really port an entire PC stat block into an NPC one. So I belive the makers of DIA shortened it down but kept some subclass features like the extra 2d8 necrotic on hit. Also I belive the reason why they removed the cold damage was that Arkhan himself did cold damage on his attacks, perhaps they wanted to keep that unique to him in their trio.
Death is one of her domains, though War & Trickery are her more popular domains. They also made it so cleric's divine powers come from an ideology rather than a deity; this is so worlds with no gods could still have clerics.
Krull's art looks incredible
That's the most badass looking tortle I've come across
I love how slips into character for a moment.
i have been playing as krull in a campaign and we recently reached level 9 and this is easily the most fun ive ever had playing

Krull the Corpsesmith
that design does not look like a Common Snapping Turtle but an Alligator Snapping Turtle.

Me and Kroll getting married one day...
How is krull a death cleric of Tiamat when it's not even one of her domains ???

Rip oof! of Krull and the king of the prisoners
What game is that? Looks like a phone game.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. It's also available on PCs and consoles.
