Awesome video and superb craftsmanship on your build! Love the color and quite honestly I love your entire setup. I also fell in love with the S30 due to my dad purchasing his 2nd 240z in 1990-1991 which I still have today.Great to see builds such as this and the fact you are going to build another with your son is simply fantastic. Cheers from across the pond in Ky USA,
Super great shots and flawless editing ! Gj. The only downside in my ipinion is the turbo the owner added :-( I also happen to own a 280Z from 77' and the sound of the naturally aspirated engine is just what defines the car
Thank you bro I bought the RBs last month 16x9s they fit nice under the guards only thing is that they not as aggressive as the 17s Like yours but then your car is a beast and deserves the bad ass wheels.. A bit of regret there but hay its still a awesome looking car just like yours a RB25DEt but with less mods Cyane blue with a 50% white pearl paint job.......I can see and feel your luv for theses cars its compulsion... See ya around some time.
zeus mojo so sorry I didn't respond sooner; glad to hear you got the wheels. Would like to see pics of your car, sounds good.. I was going to go the RB route but love the L series!
Good stuff very nice Z. Can you please tell us the size of the Rota wheels and tyres I notice they look staggered ? looks so perfect. Was going to cut and flare mine but yours looks so good tucked under the guards if I can get it like yours. Greetings from Sydney.
zeus mojo the front are Rota RB 17x7.5 +20 and the rear are Rota RB-R 17×8.5 + 4. I don't think they will fit on a Z with standard suspesion; I've modified my suspension and repositioned the spring saddles for more clearance. If you have coilovers, it should work. With the front, 17x7.5 +15 would have been better but they weren't available in Australia at the time. If you have any more questions, more than happy to help.
She's a beauty Mate! You've given me some valuable ideas for my own project. I'm currently disassembling my '72 for a bit of restomod. I've owned her for 40 odd years and now is the time.
Without the E85, I can only run about 14psi of boost and very little timing under boost. The E85 allows me to run about 23psi and more timing, making much more power. Premium unleaded is only 98 octane, E85 is 107 octane, allowing more boost and more timing to make more power.
It's nice but I prefer triple carbs on the original engine, that doesn't sound right....You had a 69 and let it go?? Those will be worth the most. I have a 6/71 orange. I found mine in a shed in Santa Cruz, rust wasn't too bad but pretty much all Zs need new dog legs.
From the story Marc told us, we understand the featured card is the 69 model. As he didn't have matching engine and chassis numbers he decided to go for a more contemporary and reliable build to drive as an everyday car. When he first got married this was the family car. Hope that clears it up a little. Thanks for watching
415 s30 the car is a series 1, build #418... it's registered as 1969 but it's actually a 71. When I purchased the shell, I was under the impression it was a 69 model but as I learnt more about the history of the car, found out it was actually a 71. It had twin SU's originally, then I went to triple Dellorto's bit I've always wanted an injected turbo Z and so that's what I ended up doing.
Such an underrated video of the Z. So much better than the other ones out there.
Man, that is one beautiful Z! Love the old school power antenna
the first gen of 240/260/280z, and the second gen 280zx have timeless designs.
I absolutely love this video. I keep watching it over and over. I hope to own my own 240z one day but they're so hard to find and expensive now.
Man you just brought tears in my eyes at the end....
Father & Son...just outstanding!
Sure is!
OMG the dampening and blow off at the beginning, I'm hooked!
We are too! :D
Great story, you can hear the emotion in his voice, cars have great sentimental value.
Rushlee Pearce sure does!
Stunning Z car. Keep the passion strong my friend. Badass video. Love it!
My father gave me his 1977 280z! I'm only 16 but I adore the car more than anything, even though it needs some work. =)
G Wricky oh wow! Take good care of it and email us photos of when you start driving it! :)
This is amazing. My dream car for 20years and now pretty much unattainable. Congratulation on this beautiful work of art.
We hope you can get the 240z one day James! And thank you!
A design that has stood the test of time. Still a great looking car.
Love the video! My 280Z I think will be ready in 3 months finally! Can't wait mooooooooore.

Matt Verhamme thanks for the comment. Turbo setup isn't for everyone but it still makes a sweet noise when revved.

What year is yhis car?
When I purchased it, I was under the impression it was a 1969 model but it's actually a 1971, series 1 build number 418.
I'm 16 years old I have a 240z myself I'm doing a rb20det swap
Awesome!
Trenton Briones me too bro! I got the 280 tho.
Im sticking a 355 in my 280zx, then maybe a small turbo kit lol
The E85 is robbing that engine of power,,,,why do people think e85 is better?
Without the E85, I can only run about 14psi of boost and very little timing under boost. The E85 allows me to run about 23psi and more timing, making much more power. Premium unleaded is only 98 octane, E85 is 107 octane, allowing more boost and more timing to make more power.
