I currently have my 06 torn down suspension wise, also have the diff dropped and installing a new timing chain with vvt, it's a huge pain in butt but it's coming along slowly, can not complain I got the crew can for 500$ 4x4 138k on it. One scare I had with the video you made is running a jack on dirt, I always try to maintain a solid surface with those things, anyways you did a fantastic job and I'm interested in the cabin filter video.
Nice work, very easy to follow what you are doing. It would be wise to check those inner tie rods at this time as well since they are easily accessible with all that is disassembled.
Thanks for the video, how does it feel after installing these parts? Bought a Colorado a few months back and I'm afraid it will need these parts plus the steering rack.
@@adamdport I noticed when you took the outer tie rod off... you didn't count the full revolution turns on the threads so that when you put the new one on it would not mess up the wheel alignment.
How long did you have to beat on the ball joints to let them loose? I keep hitting and theg aint budging. Also my CV axle is jn the way of removing two bolts on the lower ball joint. Any tips?
I feel like 4 or 5 strong swings with the sledge was all it took. Regarding the bolts, I remember it being difficult to find clearance but somehow managed by either raising/lowering the control arm and/or turning the rotor. Don't remember specifically what worked though
I'm doing this job now, I jack under control arm and cannot for the life of me get my steering knuckle to meet up with the top joint, I jack up and it comes off the jack stands
@@adamdport torsion bars, I'm thinking pervious owner tighten them making the control arm stiffer, the one you have jacked up like butter, mines super stiff
@@huggi3z08 hard to say without seeing it. Right answer is probably to figure out why it's stiff and resolve it. Quick answer is maybe a ratchet strap to some upper anchor point to help the jack squeeze it together?

Excellent work. Extremely helpful. Big-ups to you and especially for posting the torque specs in the description.
Thanks Adam for the video. Saved me a ton of $ switching out the old junk ball joints on my 09 Canyon. Made for a pretty fun weekend project too.
Awesome! It's always fun when you find an excuse to take the sledge hammer to the truck lol
Excellent DIY explanation video. I like your methods.
Awesome work and extremely helpful

Appreciate the tip! A retired friend of mine said they rarely have issues but I should have checked anyway while I was that far into it.
Excellent Video. Very helpful
Great video. Thank you!

Felt TERRIBLE until I got an alignment, amazing what just a degree or two will do to the handling! After that though it's good as new.

after removing the caliper remove the caliper bracket before the ball joint

Hm it sounds like something is in the way. Do you have struts or just a torsion bar on yours?

@@adamdport I consider the idea of the strap, just feel like I'm preloading a bomb haha, I appreciate the quick response from you.
