A Plague Tale Requiem was one of my favorite games from last year. It had a great voice cast, a great story, and a lot of the time it felt like Aliens with flesh eating rats.
I liked the first one much better in almost every respect, except the rat numbers and voice acting (but again, it's just that the script for the second one called for more drama and allowed the talent to unfold better). The story, the puzzles and the locations in the first one were better and much more memorable. Even that boss fight at the end of the first one, despite being awkward and kind of out of place (as if it jumped from a GoW game) actually makes that one more memorable. So the second one was a big disappointment for me overall, but still a good game. The story in the second one makes absolutely no sense if you think about it.

Love A Plague Tale: Requiem, but it definitely had some weird difficulty spikes and A Protector's Duty was probably the one that stood out the most to me as well. I tried going about it every which way and I just kept getting spotted and dying because everyone would just be on top of you quickly. Like a few other sections of the game I basically made it through by luck, just managing to get far enough from any enemies when they're chasing me that we're able to get through the door and trigger the next cutscene right before they intercept haha.

I saw the thumbnail and thought I knew exactly where we were going with in Plague Tale Requiem. Because for me the hardest part by far was near the end of the game. You have to fight of waves of enemies in a very tight space on a ship. There's almost no move to manuever and your simply dead period of enemies reach you and to top it off archers are constantly firing at you forcing you to make them a priority but you can only fire back when their reloading so the one spot for cover is all you have as guys are coming at you and archers are shooting at you. That part nearly made me quit the game it was so tough!

That Dying Light 2 entry has me thinking. A great topic for the next "gaming trends that need to die" list would be overly difficult sections that are meant to be epic/cinematic.
@The Rotten💯 Absolutely! I'm about 3/4 of the main storyline and I can tell why a lot of people said the story feels disjointed and the gameplay gets stale. The first hours were certainly the best but then you get bombarded with side quests and you meet dozens of characters you don't really care or know about. Then it picks up for a few more hours when you go to the big city and you find you can climb those high skyscrapers and traverse the city with the paraglider. Unfortunately that also gets old kinda quick.
I got lucky with requiem I guess. I stayed along the coast and the guy on the ship gave me support along the way with the mounted crossbow. Think I managed to not die.
Not lucky - you just played it the way the game heavily hints you're "supposed" to play it. If you deviate and go exploring to find things though, the guy on the boat will get ahead of you and you won't have him covering you anymore, making that area more difficult. Although, I'd argue it's not *that* much more difficult, you just have to pace yourself and go really slow to get through it stealthy, it's not too tough.
Falcon could’ve stopped at: “They might as well be aimbots” But he had to make it very clear with: “the exact opposite of stormtroopers” 😂😂😂 That made me laugh, thanks Falcon ❤
Extremely surprised you picked the sneaky sniper mission from MW2, it wasn't bad at all compared to the one where you start out injured and have to sneak your way through a gauntlet of a city and have an eventual firefight near the church. That mission was 10x harder imo.
I found this dude's YT channel called Arktix that has a lot of great tips, strategies, walkthrough, etc. He does everything on very hard, so they'll work on any difficulty level. I couldn't even get past the first locked loadout challenge without it lol.
Once you figure out Sean's pretty easy attack pattern, it's really not too bad. But it def took me a good number of tries to get that attack pattern down...
Reading the comments and I gotta agree the level after the club is actually the hardest. The club is the game's first learning curve, but it's not the hardest. It essentially teaches you how to play the game optimally. The next level is hard regardless of playing it correctly or not.
@@rokzum it’s not too bad just playing through the story if you have decent gear as you level up it’s more like raid bosses for end game the game can drag quite a bit too in terms of story but it’s not a bad game by any means. If you like the division I’m sure you will like outriders
that mission in Watch Dogs Legion where you have to destroy shipments with a CT drone while a strict time limit is in effect and having a lot of enemies shooting at the drone too
Omg that first scene in requiem is definitely my hardest also but the game itself has so many other hard scenarios just as hard, like getting through the fishing docks
The real problem with Recon by Fire in MW2 is the awkward checkpoint glitch. I had to basically re-run the last part (when you storm the group of buildings by the lighthouse after the sniping section there) like 30 times -- I had to finish this on veteran from the very beginning of that section. And you get like 15 heavily armored guys all of who one-shot you on Veteran...
A Plague Tale Innocence also had the most bs difficult level of any game. Remember at the end of the game where Rodrick has to push the cart to shield you from archers? Well that's when you realize the slingshot aiming against running targets is super wonky. You'll be locked onto an enemy and as soon as you pull the trigger the lock-on will break for seemingly no reason and you'll whiff. Or sometimes it won't lock-on at all so the guard just runs up and kills you. I was stuck on that for at least a good hour.
Yeah, the insane difficult spikes, combined with the, IMO, exceptionally difficult-to-stomach grimdark story and gross atmosphere, made me give up on this game.
I may be alone here, but opening level of Nier:Automata took me like 2 hours lol I feel like that's a tough one especially if you don't know what you're getting into. Rest of the game was a breeze in comparison
For sifu the club was easy but I had a really hard time with the museum because they just kept spinning, especially the boss. I can't tell what they are doing.
For Plague Tale it's actually easy once you realise you get "complete sequence" once you "open" the "final door", so you can just run. The only one that can't be done like that to my experience is just when it's directly a boss after that or there is simply no "final door" in the section.
I wouldn't say hard, but very frustrating, was in Days Gone(Steam) when following the Hord with Mike to the tunnel at one point crouching in the bushes, I had to restart at least 6 times cause any movement would attract their attention and it was driving me nuts! Not sure if it was just me, but no matter where I crouched, even right next to Mike as soon as he started going up hill and I tried to follow, I was spotted.
Should’ve done the mission from GOW 2018 where you first encounter large draugers after falling thru the bridge and finding ‘frozen’ draugers. On lower difficulties it’s not too bad but on GMGOW difficulty it’s insanely hard and it took me too many tries. You get 1-2 hits before you die, have like no skills unlocked at that point and it’s before you get any upgrades/armor. It was a major roadblock for a lot of people
That spot is the reason I lowered the difficulty. Wanted the challenge but didn't have the time to really go through it if I wanted to finish the game.
A mission I was hoping for was “Don’t Fear the Reaper” from Cyberounk 2077. Think about it. A final mission going solo to take down Arasaka and the moment you flatline the credits role. Like you really gotta have a broken build or really understand the game to get through it. Now I know people are gonna say “it’s easy tf you mean?” Or “just get good” but remember not everyone are godly gamers and it takes a lot of patience to get everything set up for success to do this mission.
Not to knock you but cyberpunk before the 2.0 update was insanely easy to break it was a unbalance mess you didn't need to be a godly player for Don't fear the reaper lol
@@LunaPPK my point still stands for the extremely casual players that don’t look up builds and search for the craziest items. One video search equals god mode haha. But yeah compared to current patch, shit was definitely easier but NOT to the average player
Crash Bandicoot 4 It's about time - the part where Cortex steals the mask and escapes - when you have to jump on the crates, THAT part took me forever !!!!
I remember the windmill mission from Dying Light 2 being pretty easy. I only died the first time because I accidentally jumped onto the ground from up high when trying to get to the windmill LOL
Played Sonic Frontiers twice. First time, I beat the pinball minigame in my first attempt. Second time, I got stuck for 40 minutes and started cursing a lot haha.
I'm surprised to find DL2's windmill mission on the list. I'm currently playing the game and I didn't find that mission hard at all. I don't know if either it's been patched/changed months after you guys played the game, or if it's a matter of having done a few more sidequests and therefore having unlocked more parkour moves that speed up your climbing.
I think it's been patched, when I played the mission at launch the timer starts at 1:00 and it would extend after each bomb, instead of 2:30 like it is now, which made it so goddamn infuriating, lol.
For #3 I also had the same issue with Saint's Row ( 2022) with one of the gang fight territory missions. Only went through the trouble to 100% the game and try to work my way towards a platinum ( gave up the latter because the game was too boring to waste my time on). Had the same thing with the cops on that mission but didn't pay it much mind since I was still able to shoot them eventually. The gang one I was literally under the bridge and couldn't even leave to find a elevated spot to try and shoot enemies without risking leaving the area / reseting progress which also caused the progression of the capture to glitch at times.
I would say Call Of Duty WWII level 2.There's a point when you have to destroy the air bombers but when you die the first time, the game saves a point when you will just keep dying after two three seconds. I tried loading and starting the level again but boy that's hard.
I must have gotten SUPER lucky on the dying light 2 windmill section. 1st try, everything seemed to line up and didn't have to wait more than 5 seconds.
Plague Tale has a 10/10 story but definitely suffers from some poorly designed sections and massive difficulty spikes which brings the game down to 8/10
Plague Tale: Requiem is an amazing game but people should be warned the difficulty spike happens almost immediately. If you played the first game you might think you get it, but no. The very first level had me dying on repeat. And trying to sneak around guards with rats in the shadows, is pretty hard. But stick with it, the story is very much worth it.
requiem tripped me up immediately because i played both games back to back and they switched up the controls. pissed me off at first but then i got used to it and didn't mind where they went with it. the other challenging thing about stealth in requiem is it seems like the things that are supposed to "hide" you like tall grass or carts that you crawl under don't actually hide you if the guards get close enough. got pulled out from under a cart more times than i can count.
Saints Row: Drawing Heat. I encountered that bug. I just used a rocker launcher to get past it. There's another mission, very early on, the payday loan mission, there's a bug I encountered as well. If you sideswipe the cop early than you're supposed to, it'll have you driving around in circles unable to complete it. You literally have to restart from your last checkpoint to complete it.
Now I'm usually terrible at games... but it seems I've found my one game I'm good at. I didn't struggle with any of Requiem. That level you mention in this video I didn't right away. All stealth. Must have been sheer luck haha
My pick is that section of Batman Arkham Knight where you have to try to sneak behind 7 cobra tanks and destroy them without getting spotted/killed. This part of the game was so frustrating that after nearly two dozen deaths, its made me rage quit and i havent touched the game since.
Chapter 4 in A Plague Tale was so unnecessarily frustrating I almost quit the game entirely. Glad I got through it but that shit was a real test of patience.
HZD FW Arena is just straight up unfair at that difficulty, yes all the machines curb stomp you and sometimes you also get stun locked and juggled. Plus you can only evade like 3x before Aloy stumbles and the cycle starts again lol
I have noticed that with saints row it's not just that mission I have had it happen with a few missions like when you help Jr by taking the car parts from the idols they will drive past you out of range
I’m currently about 40hrs into another playthrough of Dying Light 2 awaiting the release of Atomic Heart and I had forgotten how annoying that windmill was… after running out of time going the wrong way I started trying to rush through it and would miss a jump and die. Took me about 5 tries and it was def starting to piss me off!
Man that windmill in dying light 2. I finsly make it in the time limit before I realized I was supposed to be planting explosives along the way. Those are easy to miss as well
I am absolutely 100% not one of the people that thinks the more difficult a game is, the more enjoyable it is. There is SO much more to enjoyment and the overall game experience than wanting to throw your controller while screaming 4 letter words.
The dying light windmill run took like 5 attempts and I was pretty frustrated, that stupid windmill wait time was rough unless you got to it perfectly and immediately jumped to it

glad Falcon talked about Hardest missions on games. hope you guys have a great day
Thanks, you too!
Although, I'd argue it's not *that* much more difficult, you just have to pace yourself and go really slow to get through it stealthy, it's not too tough.
yeah i found that if you move SUPER slow he’ll crossbow most of the enemies in your way! takes forever though
Falcon could’ve stopped at: “They might as well be aimbots”
But he had to make it very clear with: “the exact opposite of stormtroopers” 😂😂😂
That made me laugh, thanks Falcon ❤

Extremely surprised you picked the sneaky sniper mission from MW2, it wasn't bad at all compared to the one where you start out injured and have to sneak your way through a gauntlet of a city and have an eventual firefight near the church. That mission was 10x harder imo.
No it wasn't. Nobody cares about your opinion.
The frustration and anger in Falcon's voice is palpable
😅🦅
Totally agree on the mission in DL, i failed that too many times!
The worst arena battles in HFW are the ones that take away your weapons and give you a set of junk you don't normally use.
I found this dude's YT channel called Arktix that has a lot of great tips, strategies, walkthrough, etc. He does everything on very hard, so they'll work on any difficulty level. I couldn't even get past the first locked loadout challenge without it lol.
Requiem is a fun game but can be sooooo frustrating. I have rage quit that game so many times
you should try bloodborne
Hearing you say that the sifu boss Sean was hard, made me think I was watching an IGN video
Once you figure out Sean's pretty easy attack pattern, it's really not too bad. But it def took me a good number of tries to get that attack pattern down...
👍🏼
Reading the comments and I gotta agree the level after the club is actually the hardest. The club is the game's first learning curve, but it's not the hardest. It essentially teaches you how to play the game optimally. The next level is hard regardless of playing it correctly or not.
For me it was the Fire Giant in Elden Ring!
Yeah, while I don't know if I'd put him on this list, Fire Giant threw me around like a wet rag for a while before i beat him.
i cannot wait for "SIFU" on PC release, also i need "RESOGUN" ... that game was such a blast :)
Outriders had some of the most rage inducing levels
Fr especially playing by yourself some of them were almost impossible cos you would just get bombarded with enemies
Oh damn really? I was thinking about working on outriders this year
Kind of forgot about that game
@@rokzum it’s not too bad just playing through the story if you have decent gear as you level up it’s more like raid bosses for end game the game can drag quite a bit too in terms of story but it’s not a bad game by any means. If you like the division I’m sure you will like outriders
That was because it’s a co-op game
that mission in Watch Dogs Legion where you have to destroy shipments with a CT drone while a strict time limit is in effect and having a lot of enemies shooting at the drone too
Not recent, But that Construction site in Vice City was unbelievable hard, I was never able to finish it because of that lol
Yeah
was that with the remote control plains, or was that San Andres. Ugh, that was horrible and so scarring that I forgot what game it was.
@@austinwright09
San Andreas had something similar but it was slightly easier
Omg that first scene in requiem is definitely my hardest also but the game itself has so many other hard scenarios just as hard, like getting through the fishing docks
The real problem with Recon by Fire in MW2 is the awkward checkpoint glitch. I had to basically re-run the last part (when you storm the group of buildings by the lighthouse after the sniping section there) like 30 times -- I had to finish this on veteran from the very beginning of that section. And you get like 15 heavily armored guys all of who one-shot you on Veteran...
Another day, another video uploaded by Gameranx. And I am all here for it! 🤩
🤝
A Plague Tale Innocence also had the most bs difficult level of any game.
Remember at the end of the game where Rodrick has to push the cart to shield you from archers? Well that's when you realize the slingshot aiming against running targets is super wonky. You'll be locked onto an enemy and as soon as you pull the trigger the lock-on will break for seemingly no reason and you'll whiff. Or sometimes it won't lock-on at all so the guard just runs up and kills you. I was stuck on that for at least a good hour.
!! Made me quit!! For real 😂
Yeah, the insane difficult spikes, combined with the, IMO, exceptionally difficult-to-stomach grimdark story and gross atmosphere, made me give up on this game.
Thanks for engaging videos everyday
Great video as always! Hope everyone at gameranx has a great weekend I bet you guys have had a very busy last few days 😂
You still sound a little under the weather, Falcon. Thanks for still putting in work.
I may be alone here, but opening level of Nier:Automata took me like 2 hours lol I feel like that's a tough one especially if you don't know what you're getting into. Rest of the game was a breeze in comparison
I just don't understand why they didn't put a checkpoint in there. You'd think it'd be common sense in game development.
You guys should do 10 hardest bosses in recent video games
Damn, I love SIFU. Hope we get a sequel.
🤞👆🏻
Great vid 👍
Thanks 👍
I wouldn't say hard, but very frustrating, was in Days Gone(Steam) when following the Hord with Mike to the tunnel at one point crouching in the bushes, I had to restart at least 6 times cause any movement would attract their attention and it was driving me nuts! Not sure if it was just me, but no matter where I crouched, even right next to Mike as soon as he started going up hill and I tried to follow, I was spotted.
Had the same issue. I just went to the right up the cliff and hid in bushes while waiting for him to come to me
Yeah I remember that too, it felt like you should have been able to stick to mike but they messed it up somehow
I found the intro of Requiem so difficult I stopped playing straight away. Glad I did.

Should’ve done the mission from
GOW 2018 where you first encounter large draugers after falling thru the bridge and finding ‘frozen’ draugers.
Cool video bruv keep up your work most of my games are as a result of watching your videos
👌
Killing Nigel Cass on Watch Dogs Legion resistance mode…
Recon By Fire is my favourite mission in Modern Warfare 2.
Same me b my brother actually messed around once we got up there with secs left
Played Sonic Frontiers twice. First time, I beat the pinball minigame in my first attempt. Second time, I got stuck for 40 minutes and started cursing a lot haha.
I'm surprised to find DL2's windmill mission on the list. I'm currently playing the game and I didn't find that mission hard at all. I don't know if either it's been patched/changed months after you guys played the game, or if it's a matter of having done a few more sidequests and therefore having unlocked more parkour moves that speed up your climbing.
agreed
I think it's been patched, when I played the mission at launch the timer starts at 1:00 and it would extend after each bomb, instead of 2:30 like it is now, which made it so goddamn infuriating, lol.
I didn’t think it was hard either. I bought the game when it came out and played through that mission in one try. It wasn’t that hard.
"oh no, I lost again, it's my 19 try..."
Me on my way to figth the nameless king for the 50 time 🗿
I’d say the whole game of Elden ring, that thing be killing me like crazy
For #3 I also had the same issue with Saint's Row ( 2022) with one of the gang fight territory missions. Only went through the trouble to 100% the game and try to work my way towards a platinum ( gave up the latter because the game was too boring to waste my time on). Had the same thing with the cops on that mission but didn't pay it much mind since I was still able to shoot them eventually. The gang one I was literally under the bridge and couldn't even leave to find a elevated spot to try and shoot enemies without risking leaving the area / reseting progress which also caused the progression of the capture to glitch at times.
The windmill destruction in DL2 was fairly easy, did it on my first time and still had time to wait for my friend who was a little behind
I would say Call Of Duty WWII level 2.There's a point when you have to destroy the air bombers but when you die the first time, the game saves a point when you will just keep dying after two three seconds. I tried loading and starting the level again but boy that's hard.
Nothing is worse than dying in a hard mission and having no checkpoints so you have to start the mission over again....
That windmill in Dying light 2 was horrible.. I fell off, all the way into the water and climbed all the way back up with only 2 seconds to spare.
Ugh yeah, completely agree with the Dying Light 2 windmill section.. other than that the mission was awesome!
That unlock process in Neon White sounds *exhausting*.
I must have gotten SUPER lucky on the dying light 2 windmill section. 1st try, everything seemed to line up and didn't have to wait more than 5 seconds.
I climbed it before the mission and it was super easy
yeah me too, I got it first try. I didn't even know it was suppose to be difficult 😅
I'm at work, I see gameranx post. I stop working and watch.
😅
Plague Tale has a 10/10 story but definitely suffers from some poorly designed sections and massive difficulty spikes which brings the game down to 8/10
In reference COD MW2 2022, I think an honorable mention for the toughest mission would be “Alone” from the campaign.
I heard it's impossible to see my comment, i'm too late to the party...
Your attempt at begging for attention failed lmao.
I know this isn't a recent game but speaking of hard missions, anyone remember that rocket in commando 2 on miniclip. That was ridiculously hard

Get back on that horse and get it done.
You can do it. 😃👍
@@ezioauditoredafirenze8352 I appreciate your faith in me... Maybe one of these days, haha.
I have noticed that with saints row it's not just that mission I have had it happen with a few missions like when you help Jr by taking the car parts from the idols they will drive past you out of range
plague tale requiem was so satisfying to play especially those rats + soldiers levels
Man that darn dying light 2 windmill I was sooo frustrated with that one. Died quite a few times just missing jumps.
I was stuck in the same place on Plague Tale Requiem. 😩
😔
I’m currently about 40hrs into another playthrough of Dying Light 2 awaiting the release of Atomic Heart and I had forgotten how annoying that windmill was… after running out of time going the wrong way I started trying to rush through it and would miss a jump and die. Took me about 5 tries and it was def starting to piss me off!
Wow Great video
Thanks!
No problem
Man that windmill in dying light 2. I finsly make it in the time limit before I realized I was supposed to be planting explosives along the way. Those are easy to miss as well
I am absolutely 100% not one of the people that thinks the more difficult a game is, the more enjoyable it is. There is SO much more to enjoyment and the overall game experience than wanting to throw your controller while screaming 4 letter words.

playing plague tale requiem again with the fully upgraded crossbow is a life saver
The dying light windmill run took like 5 attempts and I was pretty frustrated, that stupid windmill wait time was rough unless you got to it perfectly and immediately jumped to it
I used to love that OG Sonic Pinball for the Sega
