    So extremely dangerous to be anywhere near so much potential energy. If that freight train broke off the rails you wouldn't be able to move fast enough to get out of its way. And given the really bad state of the rail system in the US and the very high frequency of major train wrecks you can't argue this is safe to do. Please be careful and steer clear of massive freight trains

      Thank you for your concern and yes I was scared believe it or not. Let's just be thankful for the engineer whatever the problem was he took care of it before something bad could happen

    I'm really surprised that they stopped a loaded coal train, going that speed, in 40 seconds. I timed it in the vid counter .. And I'm pretty sure the train was going down grade because I could hear the dynamic brakes on the lead units and the DPU. Typically it takes a lot longer to stop a loaded train .. pretty impressive .. good catch.

      Yeah when I recorded this I was surprised at how fast they go the train to stop which is why I put emergency brake in the title because how fast it stopped. Like my pinned comment says this was when I was new to UA-cam making videos

    best guesses as why it went into emergency 1) hit something, 2) electrical malfunction, 3) mechanical issues broken cup-link or airline blew leaning towards broke link or airline since this is a coal train and means its extremely heavy thus putting lots of pressure on the links/airlines

    • @lowellvillerailfanproductions

      Youngstown Southeastern Railroad. I actually got to hangout and talk with them one day and I walk along the tracks making sure everything is alright. No fallen down tress or anything that can derail a train.

    Very confusing video, I didn't understand anything you were going, running and fast walking down that track next to the grain train. It was the coal train that went into emergency??????? What did you expect to find on the other track?

    • @lowellvillerailfanproductions
      @lowellvillerailfanproductions  9 місяців тому

      This was recorded when I was still very new to train information. The track I'm walking on belongs to a short line. And there were two reasons why I was running at the point 1st. But what never happened was if the train did derail. And the 2nd one was if there was another train coming I didn't want to be trapped. And yes you are correct it was a coal train. Like I said I had no idea what I was doing back then but more recent videos I've learned a lot more from my friends who actually work on the railroad
