She was truly blessed in life with that beautiful country voice, gorgeous golden locks, her beauty, her class and she really did have it all. Miss her.
I keep coming back and watching this. I'm thinking, Lynn Anderson was about 26 in this clip, can you imagine singers today, in their 20s, acting with this much class, grace, style, & pure - raw, unaltered talent? She was beyond beautiful and her talent was boundless. A master at her craft.
These duets with Dean Martin are always so great to listen to, he can sing with anyone and whether he wanted to or not, he is always in the foreground with his singing 🎶 his charm, his humor. My heart opens every time ❤
mesmerizing! I have to admit that country music is not really my thing, but Lynn, I don't know what it is...well she has that voice for one. And Rose Garden has been my favorite country song ever since I was a little kid.
They feed off of each other. You can tell they have a real fondness for each other . When he needed (wanted) a female country act, she was his 'go to' girl ... she was on his show quite a bit as a guest. I can see why he adored her, she was breathtakingly beautiful. damn!
I had the good fortune to go to college with her in the mid-60's. She sat right next to me in Professor Kohler's Psychology 101 class at American River College in Sacramento, CA. And this was before she became famous. Definitely a warm and friendly person. It has been almost five years since she passed away.
Truly, the greatest entertainer of the last century ... TV, Recording, Movies, Live Performance & half of the most popular comedy team of all time! No one comes close!!!
She performed at the Smethport County Fair, Smethport, Pa., in the 70's (don't remember the year). I was part of a guitar/piano duo that opened for her. What a privilege!
She reminds me of the good witch from the wizard of Oz. I love her voice and they way she was swooning over Dean. They make a truly stunning combination. We were lucky to have them on this earth 🌍.
She's from good upper midwest Norwegian stock. Actually, she was born in Winnipeg and "sneaked" into Grand Forks, ND so that he birth could be recorded in the U.S. and she would be a U.S. citizen. Not sure if it was "illegal" in 1947, but I doubt you could get away with it today. Anyway, she's my kind of "illegal alien".
@@scdevon Bullshit. She was born in Fargo, ND - period - where her parents were living when she was born. They moved to California when Lynn was a kid, which is where she was raised. She was 100% USA born & raised . Why would you make up some stupid shit like that and post it? I don't get it.
Perry Strebel I've just watched this for the first time and am thinking exactly the same thing !! sadly we will never see anything like this ever again 😥😥😥
Wow. Thank you for posting. What an amazing piece of variety-hour television history. Love the solo and the duet! Lynn is in top form vocally indeed. I love how she makes 'Stand By Your Man' her own too (not to take away from Tammy Wynette's version of course). And Dino always made his show fun. Bravi!
I am thinking my Grandmother probably watched this... She, Loved, and I mean loved, Dean Martin (Next to her husband) also Mitch Miller. Interesting to hear Lynn sing Stand By your Man, But She’d probably tell me off giving Lynn Eyes... (She would have reminded me how long ago this was).
It was always rumored Karen Black's character WAS based off Lynn Anderson (everyone in Nashville Music Biz knew this). I've never watched the movie, though.
This was 1972, but she was coiffed and dressed as if it was a decade earlier -- which suits this song. What young people can't appreciate is that many elements of American society were clinging to what they imagined were values and styles of the past as the world changed too quickly for their comfort. For many, sadly, this pretty song was a theme song aimed AGAINST the liberation of women from a truly second-class citizenship. In retrospect, we can just enjoy the music in the relief that the reactionary forces holding women back were reduced within a few years of this performance.
She wasn't "coiffed and dressed" for a decade earlier .... this is exactly how a country star was supposed to look in 1972 - like a classy lady. What did you want her in a fringed suede vest and boots, with John Lennon-Granny glasses?
Yep, she was known for her beautiful, long blonde hair - back before everybody had it thanks to weaves & extensions. You should also remember her by her stellar career. :-)
After the Peloponnesian War and for generations, the Athenians began restaging the great plays from the previous century - Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides - it's not that new plays weren't being written and staged, it's just that they could not compare to what had come before, culturally speaking. I trust I'm not being too obtuse.
When men were men and women were women! - Nice to have these videos - so we dont have to watch the confused generation and their cabbage patch mentality!
She was truly blessed in life with that beautiful country voice, gorgeous golden locks, her beauty, her class and she really did have it all. Miss her.
Lynn Anderson was a mega star in the 70s and early 80s. Beautiful Legend.
She was a living, breathing doll babe. My first crush in country music
There isnt a female that wouldnt fall in love with his magical personality.
Awesome Voice Lynn Anderson ,apv Bingo,NY.

She was so beautiful and angelic and truly and one of the best female singers of all time

Lynn definitely had that something magic! Very charming medley by two greats!

Wow; you are very lucky
That's cool
Dean Martin has that special magic, pairings w anyone, and brings the best for the audience.
Another beautiful duet there.
Both at the top of their game. So good.
They sounded beautiful when they harmonized. Dean Martin was so cool and handsome, and Lynn was beautiful.
Beautiful voice..she's so beautiful and her gown stunning
Absolutely love this. She was at her very best and of course, Dino is adorable.
Моя любимая певица Линн Андерсон!!! Прекрасный своеобразный голос. Я из Одессы ❤

She never looked more beautiful!
I'm confused, are they modeling or singing? lol

Perry Strebel She was, And well, She is.
Oh,what a lovely voices,I love them so much.😘😘😘👍👍👍
absolutely fantastic
Dean was just so cool
These two were my favorites!!!!💓💓💓
Good Lord...she had the voice for “Stand By Your Man” that Tammy Wynette did not. She sang the high notes effortlessly.
Stand by your man is never effortless, I prefer the Tammy Wynette version, she carried the drama. Otherwise, Anderson is great.
I agree with you, Barry, Tammy Wynette - tho' a good singer - had nowhere near the power in her voice Lynn Anderson did.
Tammy sang it with more technical ability, Lynn gave it more Timbre and belted it out.
I'm with you on this one.
I agree, Barry. No disrespect to Tammy but after hearing Lynn Anderson sing 'Stand By Your Man', Tammy pales in comparison.
Love the dress that Lynn is wearing here.
You don't hear voices like this anymore.
Wonderful! Thank you!
Thank you. This is pleasant and soothes my soul.

Miss Him Dean..... 🤣😂👌🏽👍🏽🇩🇪❤️❤️🙋🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
No wonder there was so much jealousy from other female country artist. Lynn had it all!!
Looks and voice!
Dean and Lynn are a great vocal team
Was just thinking the same.

So enjoyable we need it now
She became a right old Badass in her later years.
Very nice. ❤️

Yes, in the early years of her career ... during 1967-68. 1970 is when she became huge. This clip was 1973.
While I was watching this skit, I kept thinking that Lynn Anderson reminds me so much of Karen Black from the movie Nashville.
It was always rumored Karen Black's character WAS based off Lynn Anderson (everyone in Nashville Music Biz knew this). I've never watched the movie, though.
LOVE!!!
THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT.
Other likes Dean Martin never more.
Amazing clip, do you know which shows this is from, love to watch it all - thanks Deano😀

Un excelente cantante , de origen italiano , no en valde ..
I think Dean inadvertently referred to Lynn as "Lynn Henderson "!
Listen closely ... he clearly says ANDERSON
"Sometimes it's hard to be a woman" > especially when you're not!
CA Catr Ha!
Tammy Wynette was also good singing this Tune.
