Dean Martin & The Andrews Sisters - Medley of Hit Songs
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- Dean praises the sisters as the best trio in the whole world. Breathless, Patty thanks Dean for the kind remark and invites Dean to be apart of their trio. Dean says now we can be a "quart"
The songs they sing in appearance:
Memories Are Made of This - Dean Martin
Manana - Peggy Lee
South America, Take It Away - Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters
Rum and Coca Cola - The Andrews Sisters
Memories Are Made of This - Dean Martin
What I loved about this set is even though Laverne didn't have much longer with us she was a trooper and appeared. These ladies even in their heyday had an innocent sexy sound
The Andrews Sisters Forever Harmony💖
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!
Kids today hell even my generation will never really understand the talent - the pure talent and perfectionists these old musicians are. You didn’t hear a difference when you heard them live they sounded just like the record - better even. Martin was a true craftsman
that is pure perfection...!
I think Dean was in awe of them; they were big stars when he was unknown.
Dean Martin, unknown in 1967? The Dean Martin Show, not to be confused with the Dean Martin Variety Show (1959-1960), is a TV variety-comedy series that ran from 1965 to 1974 for 264 episodes. It was broadcast by NBC and hosted by Dean Martin. The theme song to the series was his 1964 hit "Everybody Loves Somebody." Dino was not an unknown.

It said they were big stars when he was unknown.
Dean got big when Jerry and he started out in 1945.
Andrew sisters got famous in the late ‘30s.
They were close to the same age.
Andrew sisters were active for over 40 years.
@@TheRelger the comment just wasn't phrased perfectly
Marvellous !!!!
What is wrong with a clean act, musical entretaiment, and good melodic songs?
So much talent on this stage. Patty, the mezzo, was the leader but all three were incredibly talented. And enjoy the greatness of Dean, who always made it look easy.
La Verne was the mezzo. Patti was a lyric soprano.
@@SuperHartline Patty was a mezzo-soprano Laverne was a contralto and Max was a saprano.
I grew up with the Andrews Sisters, saw them in the movies, and heard their hits in real time. Thankfully, we don't have to say good-bye when we have their albums and videos like this one.
I have a CD of Andrew's sisters songs. I sing along with them. Bugle Boy is my favorite
The voice of Dean Martin is Wonderful... it's a voice that takes me to a magical World, i like it. Really, it's very touching !
I put on Dean when I need to forget how crazy this world is for a little while. No hangover.
@@minermike61 ironic, because dean martin drank a lot, right? I remember seeing him on TV as a kid, and sometimes he was actively drinking on camera. Such an amazing voice, such a shame that other demons were lurking beneath the surface?
@@girlfromthebronxbywayofelb7288 Back when I used to drink, I listened to him even then. It catches up to you if you don't keep it in its place. Someone told me that if you need to drink that constantly, you're burying something.
@@girlfromthebronxbywayofelb7288 I know your comment is a years but, I was watching Taxi and the guys on the show were at a costume party as the Andrew sisters and sung a song I started trying to find the song and came across The Dean Martin show. Dean did drink and sometimes on camera!! Janet Leigh said people thought Dean was drinking and was drunk but, a lot of that was for show she said a lot of times he had water or ginger ale in his glass and pretended to be drunk a lots of that was his stage persona coming from the rat pack era. He did drink but, Dean was Class!! much Class!! I love Dean!! much respect!! Mr. Martin you are missed!!
@@Modelt5000 Nice to know that some of the drinking was fake. He was an actor after all. Yeah, the drunk thing seemed to be a frequent choice for comedians in the 60s and 70s. Don't remember when the drunk thing stopped being funny.... Maybe we needed to learn more about alcoholism as an illness? 🎶🌆🎵
Back when you had to have talent to be on TV. Not like today's crap they try to shove down our throats.
...bastards...!
It was an amazing performance. It was really special to see all 3 of them sing together with Dino in color at that. It is forever preserved for people to see what real talent and amazing music is. Rest Easy all!!.
This is so awesome. Dean's show premiered in 1965. Sadly the eldest sister Laverne (the middle one) passed away two years later of cancer. I think she was just 52. She was the peacekeeper as the sisters didn't always get along.
Yes indeed memories are made of this.
I wouldn't have known the individual sisters. Thanks for posting. Such a talented, impactful trio.
dean and the andrews sisters, you've got to love this. the fun these artists are showing is an absolute joy to watch!
I just love that era. Men were gentlemanly clothed. And d ladies were soo elegant...the songs.....heavenly....
Yes Luna Starr, we've lost something . . .
I agree wholeheartedly. Today's singers arrive on stage in clothes I would do gardening in!
U hu
I agree, what a time!
@@mazda1942 You do your gardening naked?? ;)
At a time when simple television advertising had more class than the entire annual program of entire broadcasting corporations.
Of all the "Crooners" of his generation, I think Dean martin was the best!! ;-)
I am very thankful that joys of the past like this can be appreciated and enjoyed!!
Ho! How I wish we had this today , I miss it so much……You young people have no idea what you are missing ….It was called talent.
Laverne was very sick here - terminal lung cancer. Maxene was holding her up the whole time. Laverne died just weeks after this. This was her last performance.
RIP. Great, great, talents.
That's very sad I hadn't noticed. Such fantastic ladies and wartime sweethearts. Bless em.
Is that so.....its soo saddening.
and thanks to technology, we have them forever.
She died 8 months later.
Dean was quite simply.. The Coolest.
Oh how I miss that type of entertainment...you know the kind with real talent..
And pure class

Dean Martin and the Andrew Sisters! What a combination! The Andrew Sisters were simply a great trio of singers! They were were so very talented!
I saw this when it first aired. Yeah, I’m old.
I really wish we could bring back elements of the 30s, though 50s. Specifically the everything in this video
Yeah that... You hit it on the head... the everything here. That's what we need more of.
Christina Aguilera - Back to Basics album. You're welcome
THIS is why Dino was so good for us....🥴 Dino could sing anything, anytime, anywhere and have fun doing it.
Correct from Denmark
Couldn’t agree more 👏🇬🇧
Dino Martini, one of the greatest singers of all time.
Dino definitely had a smooth voice and demeanor. The consumate pro.
dino and the ladies...classy
Sometimes I think that it is something extraneous. Gods are not created in the entertainment industries...
When TV shows were entertaining & no lip syncing. Andrew sisters genetic harmony sounded like stereo. Icons!
Geeze, My parents loved these people. I remember us all sitting around the living room watching this stuff.
I don't know how I never knew about this before today in 2020 but the Andrews Sisters have been my favorite trio from that era since I was very young and Dean Martin has been my favorite crooner for many years and this was a dream to see them together. Wow.
Thank God for UA-cam or no one wuld know what real television broadcasting was and that level of quality from actual talented performers
Dean could sing with anyone. He was terrific.
First saw them in Abbott and Costello movies.... They helped make the movie each time .. love them
Oh look it's real talent! And nothing political!
Das war ehrliches Entertainment, kein Playback und vor allem Freude am Auftritt, obwohl La Verne da schon sehr krank war,sie starb wenige Wochen später.R.I.P.
Yes!
There should be more of it, but those days are gone
No politics? Oh, poor baby. Here's a crying towel.
@@manofmanyinterests - Fuck you, moron
I love these three ladies. So much talent!! My heart will be always capture by LaVerne, she was the best!
Tremendous. Very sad news about Laverne, incredible professionalism and ‘team work’ -from everyone. The sisters have a heavenly blend appreciated by generations.
Still one of my favorite female groups of all time.
29th September 1966. The last ever performance by LaVerne with her sisters. (She was in the middle in this video, looking rather uncomfortable. Was that Maxene trying to encourage her to keep going?)
sure looks like that to me too..
I thought she always looked a bit awkward in all their performances.
It's funny, I think Maxene is definitely sort of spurring her on, but Laverne looks so happy in the video as well. Making the most of her last performance?
@
Tarocalypse -- No. Laverne was terminally ill at the time, although only in her early 50s.
Only a grate artist a can give the most as she did ,,A Magic moment ,
I’m a Gen Zer. I adore the Andrew’s sisters! They are amazing!
See what we are missing today on television? We have lost much and most people don't even know it.
now the only thing on cable is commercials. that's why younger people don't even use it
How could she possibly sing in the terminal lung stage. Amazing, what an incredible lady.
A time when we exuded class! I remember when a person may have only (1) sport jacket, he wore it to a football games or any other festive event, along with a fedora, and the women looked stylish, and classy, what an era, so happy to have been part of it!
They did have a long career after the 1940s - I have to do some searching for some more TV performances, great that there's a chance to see them perform together.
and then there is the band / orchestra, etc. A great backup and support - without them, the singers couldn't sing...
Great bass work, too!
Still the best trio in the world! Love them.
wow!! They still rock.
Wow ...... don't they just?!!!
No there dead
knobhead not kind but you reveal your heart.😔
I love the Andrews Sisters!
Loved the Andrews' sisters esp the funny one Patty with the blonde hair who usually sung in the middle. She had a fun personality
Awesome. Bravo. Such great talent!!!!😀
MARAVILLOSAS !!!!
When stars had true talent.even the top listers of today can't compare.
They’re all auto-tuned into oblivion.
This aired on September 29, 1966. Laverne passed away May 8, 1967 at age 55.
look hollywood, this is real class and style.
@tinwoods degustibus.
Yeah the left hate it

THIS 81 YR OLD KNOWS A BLOODY "GEM" SALUD!!!!
Ditto
They seem to sing so easy... Great singers of all time!
Thks for posting, .... Great!
Notice that there was no lip syncing. They were all singing. Really singing.
And they were not in their prime, and they still sang live -- no safety net.
Laverne was seriously ill, and she still performed like you would never know.
There are no words to describe their talent and professionalism.
Dino's show was recorded in front of a live audience I believe. Can't lip sync then.
When an artist loves what does. Even sick giving the best . Bellissimo grandissimi artisti
Boy
All this live!!!
Perfect from note note
Andrew sisters so peppy
Dino my love is just so good
He just made it sound so smooth
Dean sounds he had about 12 rum and cokes
Actually, that was all an act for Dean. He made the comment that slurring your words is like writing in cursive. 😂
GREAT SEASON IN DEED WE ARE IN THE END OF THIS WORLD ALL ITS HORRIBLE
Hello Carolina, How are you doing?
A distanza di anni alcuni performer rivelano i propri limiti : Dean Martin è sempre un piacere sentirlo !
Patty, Maxine and Laverne. Never could remember their names.
This music has such fun care-free vibes.
I'M SO SORRY I DIDN'T REPLY SOON ENOUGH! What do you mean by "Can there be more?" Are you asking me to post more?
And I agree... some of our best years right here :)
Th ey are just still great, some of our best years. Can there be more?
So glad to see them
The dictionary should have no definition of the word "cool", just simply a picture of Dean Martin.
Love it.
Dean Martin is just TOO smooth!
loving it :)
Hard to believe they're all gone now.. so sad!
They sound amazing.. Dean harmonizes so well with them.
Brings me back to everything I'll hold forever
Howdy yes you are so right . This is what I remember when I grow up . Mike
Dean Martin..
And long playing records !!
When dreams came alive in the hearts of children.
I will cherish MUSIC 4 ever.
Howdy This kind of shows , is soooooo good , more of this . Thank you Mike
They were much older in this, and they did a dance number before singing with Dean, which explains why they're breathing so heavily. They still sound awesome to me :D
Fantastische Aufnahme
It could also have to do with LaVerne having terminal cancer. Dean Martin was about the same age as these ladies and he sounds fine.
MAGNIFICOOOOOOOOOOOOOCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They're amazing !!!
…….what happened to television???....use to be SO GOOD!!!...…...
daniel thomas It has all become SO political. Unwatchable.
The true "Dumbing Down of America".

No cuts, no edits - one camera shot - Notice that? These days we're lucky if they hold a shot more than one second - seriously. Count it out as you're watching!
Wow, what a great performance.
This sure made me smile! : )
i love this real stars being fun
They were truly great. When I saw this post I said fo myself : Hey, I need to hear some experts for a change.
When popular entertainers had talent, could sing and had class.
ANDREW SISTERS. EINFACH TOLL , UNSCHLAGBAR.
Bin ganz deiner Meinung👍👍👍👍
I Declare-----The background Andrew sisters voices are one hundred times better than the original hum drum fare recorded on Dean-o s album ...!
Date of this ??
Awesome :) thx for sharing
Love it!
What year was this?
From a time when you had to have talent to be in showbiz
Who’s watching this in 2023?? Love it
wow!!! amazing!!!!!
MR COOL DEAN MARTIN
richard riordan i
I grew up listening to them and love their songs.
Strange Laverne in the middle is not out of breath, what a performer.
That’s pretty amazing considering Laverne had terminal lung cancer during this performance
The era of this kind of variety show is NOT coming back, pretty much dying with the advent of MTV.
