Just got back from 5 days in the Core! Simply amazing , words and pics cannot come close to describing the beauty of that place. It was a brutal hike for this 64 yr old seasoned human but worth every, bruise, cut, scrape, insect bite sore muscle, not to mention 1 blister and 3 hiker toes.
Loved hiking up to Lakes Colchuck and Stuart midweek before social media. Was literally paradise. Seen 2 goats down at 1800 feet on the Snow Creek trail once, was a little surprised to see them so low.
Amazing video! Great production quality, and excellent tips too. Made me consider doing this hike during the trip to Washington state I am planning now. Assuming I can get myself in the proper shape to do this challenging hike in one day. Thanks for sharing!!
I would NOT recommend this hike to anyone who isn’t in great physical shape. This is a very l-o-n-g and strenuous hike, with a ton of rock scrambling. Regardless of what others have claimed about it being 21 miles, according to both my Apple Watch and my iPhone’s health app, it was a little over 25 miles. It was (by far) the most strenuous day hike my wife and I have ever attempted.
Agreed! It is super intense. The hardest day hike we’ve ever done so far. Be prepared for a long one but beautiful rewarding views. Only attempt if well prepared physically and mentally
@@alvarobazan7683 - Although my phone didn't have a signal 95% of the time, my Apple Watch and iPhone kept track of my movements throughout the entire hike.
This was a fantastic video of the hike. My friends and I have done it a handful of times and you guys captured all of the beauty. I did appreciate how you touched on the death March being so long 😂 we usually start in the dark and try to finish before sundown so it was interesting to see you doing it opposite. Great video, thanks for sharing!
The enchantments is still one of our favourite hikes ever! We also lived in Canada for a couple of years and did many hiking videos of the Canadian Rockies / Vancouver island. Welcome to our channel!
@@worldwildhearts Hi, this might be stupid question. Other hikers were saying it was 9 miles to get to Colchuck Lake. Is this another quicker route to colchuck lake? I have never done strenuous hike but planning to hike to Colchuck lake. Btw awesome video. Beautiful views and good information on the trail.
Nicely done. 👍 Solid cinematography too. 💪 It looks like the first few lakes were the highlights of the hike. How long is it one way to Asgard Pass and that set of lakes?
Thanks! We loved the enchantments hike! 😚 Colchuck lake and the lakes above Aasgard pass were definitely our favourite. The pass is pretty steep so takes at least 5-6 hours to get up to the core zone where all the lakes are. Would be hard coming down Aasgard!
@@worldwildhearts Thanks! We were considering doing part of this hike. It seems like it'll have to be a backpacking trip until the kids are older for massive day hikes like we used to do before kids. 😁 It's like a Wind River Range type of hike.
Love the video! I did this a couple of years ago. Planning to go again next month! I don't really recall the section on the way to Snow Lakes with the granite slab and ladder - is there a sharp drop off? I have a friend that I hike and trail run with and she's planning to go with me next month but can have trouble with sharp drop offs. Thank you!
What was the distance from the parking area to the lake? I was thinking of doing an out&back for just that part. I know it took you 2 hours, but I'm wondering about the distance as I may be slower than you. Great video btw!
Really well done video. I'm going in September. Did you filter your water? Noticed the straight scoop into your hydration pack reservoir (i think)...maybe you used an inline filter on your hp? Just curious.
Thanks!! We hiked in July and it was pretty warm! We have a Camelbak and we refilled it in the lakes at least three times 😅 we used water tabs to purify the water. definitely need either purification tabs or a water bottle with filter!
I think our fitness level was moderate-advanced. We’d done many longer multi-day hikes in the past, but this one was our longest day hike ever. We weren’t in our best hiking shape last summer compared to other years. But actually we struggled mostly with just aching feet and blisters at the end of it 😅 not so much the fitness level as once you’re in the core enchantments area it’s mostly downhill / no steep climbing
You need a national forest day pass, which was $5 when we did the hike and can be purchased at the 7/11 in Leavenworth. Then, you need to fill out your contact information / details on the backcountry card at the trailhead which doesn’t cost any extra money. This applies even if you’re just doing it as a day hike since the rangers need to know to search for you if you don’t make it to your endpoint by the date listed on your form. If you’re planning to do it this time of year, keep in mind that it’s getting colder and there is potential for snow / more variable conditions. Check the AllTrails comments on the trail before you head out to see if there is any potential danger from recent hikers

Wow that's awesome that you got to spend 5 days out there!!! Must have been amazing to camp out there. 🤩
Thank you for sharing! Have a fantastic day and receive warm greetings from Canada!🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
Thank you! You too!
Just got back from camping at the snow lake! Best camping hiking experience this far! Cannot wait to get back to finish it all! Flew in from Chicago!
Awesome! 🤩
You guys are serious hikers. Thx for this amazing video. Pictures are simply breathtaking.
Thanks! We were in a good shape back then 😄 would have to train a little more if we’d do it again haha
Incredible! That must be so intense to do in one day! Especially LOVE the goats👍
It was exhausting but so worth it! The goats were all around us! 😄

Thanks for watching! Definitely worth hiking this trail - but do it in the late summer so the snow has been melted!
BEAUTIFUL NATURE AND A BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURE
It was! Washington’s finest 😊
Was lucky enough to do some of it a few weeks ago. Will return and finish it, soon.
Awesome! Glad you got to see some of it in person. One of the most beautiful hikes you’ll find in the whole US
The Enchantments have been on my list forever. Glad I stumbled upon your video. This may provide the final incentive to finally plan a trip out there!
Thanks! It's worth the long exhausting trek!!
Very good video. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! 😍 it was stunning 🤩

does the apple watch have signal all the way up there ??
going with two freinds in a few days. ready to have fun and stay safe

A handful of times? Sounds intense! The hike was awesome but we’ll wait a few more years before we attempt again 🤣 it’s brutal! 🤪🤣
Anazing video thanks for showing thats bext after the assgard pass climb
Thanks for watching! 🤩
So pretty! Thanks for the video. When did you hike?
Thanks! We hiked mid-July 2021! Still a few patches of snow but not too bad so should be all good now
Amazing scenery and breathtaking. I just did this last weekend, toughest trails i ever did.
Same for us!! Toughest one but incredible 👍
Beautiful hike and wonderful view. Your new friend here from Canada. Thanks for sharing

That is a beautiful and very informative video.
Thanks! Enjoy the hike if you’ve got time to get out there and do it soon 🙌
Is there an early morning shuttle vehicle for hikers to the other end so that we can hike back to our car?
Enchanting views for sure! Wonderfully edited too...which music was used if I may ask?
You can find the music credits in the description below the video 😊
Wow Ahmazing!
It truly is a magical place! Absolutely loved the Enchantments ❤️
Awesome!!!
☺️
Awesome video. Well done. Thank you.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. The Enchantments is a hike of a lifetime!!
Great video, well put together
Thanks for watching!😁
Great video and one - day accomplishment... Thank you for all the helpful detail! 💯🌲🏔💕
No prob!! It was a great experience 😎
Hello. Thank you for this awesome video! How long is it from the beginning at the car park to the top of Aasgard Pass?
I think it took us about 4-5 hours. It was 2 hours to Colchuck and another 2-3 to the top of the pass. Once you’re over the pass, the beauty begins!
@@worldwildhearts Hi, this might be stupid question. Other hikers were saying it was 9 miles to get to Colchuck Lake. Is this another quicker route to colchuck lake? I have never done strenuous hike but planning to hike to Colchuck lake.

It was a bit steep indeed but not super exposed... it's definitely doable, maybe not while running though! Have fun!
What time of year was this? Absolutely spectacular.
This was mid-July last summer!! Had amazing weather 😊

It’s definitely possible to do the hike to Colchuck lake too. We’ve done that one before. It’s about 4 miles one-way!
@@worldwildhearts great to know, thanks!
very well done
Perhaps I'm just paranoid, but did you bring enough in case you had to spend a night? I feel like I take more equipment on a 3 hour hike.
We didn't haha! Luckily we made it back in time!
@worldwildhearts I think we've all been in situations like that. Glad you had a great hike and I hope to do it myself one day 😊
Me encanta 😻 en paisaje

Beautifully filmed ❤️
Thanks! It’s a beautiful hike 😍
when is the best month to hike this area? thanks
July until September! The upper part has lots of snow and even mid-July we still had to walk across snow patches
Love how you say they can be aggressive as a goat approaches you hahah
Yes they really like to approach 🤣
@@worldwildhearts what was your personal fitness level going into this? I’m considering doing this in mid June

what month did you guys hike this
Mid July!
Yay! I am the 1k likes!
What date was this hike?
Last year in July!
My friends and I renamed the "Cairn" with "Darren" 😆
I’m not camping here, do I still need a back country permit? Because I read that you need to sign up for a lottery?

Can you buy the day pass online?
You can buy it at the gas station in Leavenworth itself! Very easy to obtain
Uhhhhh yeah you are suppose to get a special permit to hike and camp enchantments
Well if you're just day hiking, you need the Day Use Permit, which is available at the trailhead. The camping permit is a lot harder to get.
At least if I get lost I can eat one of those goats 🍖🤤😋
lol 🤣
When in doubt, follow the Karens.
No mention of all of the shitty,
sketchy parts? Ummm….ok.
The only shitty part was the end for us as it gets boring
Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
