He would always finish them off with a piece of glass , rubbing it back and forth. Called it "honing them". It actually closes or compresses the cells in the handle. You can also use a leg bone from a deer or cow. does the same thing. I didn't know you knew how to make a primitive bow, there's big money in those. I have a couple. Did you know if a cow or horse eats a wilted Cherry leaf it will kill them ? We checked all our trees after any storm for damaged limbs. ( I graduated from the college of useless knowledge ) 😜😜😂😂
yea if a cherry limb cracks it sends arsenic into the damaged limb. buckeyes kill stuff aswell. i use my honing steel to burnish wood when i burnish. bone aint as good to me and horn really sucks lol. bows was my first wood working thing. made my first at 10. what kinda bows you got? my channel is called long"BOW"banjoAL after all lol

When using Japanese pull saws, don't push likevin western saws, it will cut faster and last longer!
ah it cuts both ways just better on the pull. and i agree that if you use it half as much it will last longer
