Hi, just wanted to take a second and say Thank You for the insane amount of information you share in this space. We built a house with a completely blank canvas of a yard, and your videos have been invaluable. Thanks for being generous with your knowledge!
I really appreciate the redundancy of information. You mention "as I've said for the past three years" often and I just want you to know it's amazing that all the info is in one video and a viewer doesnt have to remember or have to peice information together. And for viewers like me, like a teacher repeating herself in a classroom, you repeating only highlights the importance of the process as well as the ease of it. ...and in that simple echoing, builds confidence to actually propagate! So thank you. I know it may be a bit annoying on your end. Lol. Video request... I know the way you do videos doesnt really indicate the following query is content youd typically film, but I was wondering since you have access to so many growers, is there any way you can do a indepth review of the patent industry. Like what actually are the legal laws of propagating. How much money do growers actually make from one plant discovery (or hybridization...whatever the lingo is). What are the punishments in regards to being charged for breaking such patent laws. The demographics of growers. What are the skillsets that general growers have. ....it would be fascinating! And educational. ...u could surround the video with the focus of your fear of every household planting the same top ten "anything" plants.
Jim, I think you just convinced me to try propagation again. I’ve always wanted to get good at it. I’m gonna look up all of your past propagating videos and put them in a folder 📁 together and archive them. You make it look so easy and fun, man. Thank you for all this valuable information. Your enthusiasm is contagious.👍🏾👌🏾🙂
HortTube with Jim Putnam Thanks for the encouragement. I just looked and you already did the work for me. I just found your propagation series (44 videos)...😂😂😂. You even did THAT for us. 👍🏽👌🏾
Yes BOOM! It is so exciting to watch your labor of love grow. It is so rewarding to watch and now I need to give it a go! Thanks for the generosity of sharing your knowledge!
So inspiring, those grew so fast. I'm going to propagate some more plants from cuttings next year again. Great information and explanations. Holly is so sweet.
I had to do a major cutting back of some begonias in containers. Put them in water & three have rooted & have made new flowers. Really trying to get materials together to make a cold frame to do some propagation. I usually just give plants away but might try selling some stuff. I'm working a new property too, could use some extra cash to buy the things I want. Love how you encourage folks to grow more things, you make information easy to understand. Have you had any luck propagating native Azaleas? I know they don't transplant well. I have several in the woods line but the neighboring property has Ivy & Wisteria that's out of control. I've been beating it back with cut & treat but there's SO many seed pods & the Wisteria has gotten HUGE.
I air layered my crape Myrtle for 45 days and I just put them on the ground this week hopefully it will work! I had about 20 limelight hydrangeas from cutting in spring and it’s on the ground now too hopefully it withstand snow later here in 7a zone!
Hey Jim, I live near you and may be interested in some of your cuttings. I looked for the on FB marketplace, but couldn’t find them. How do I find you on there?
Congrats 🥳 Thanks for sharing, your videos(instructions) are so easy to follow grateful to share my verbena cuttings are rooting and getting bigger every day. Blessings
Jim, help me with this. I’m using peat moss and vermiculite. Trouble with peat moss is that it doesn’t mix with the water and kinda floats around unlike regular dirt or most potting soil. So I dampened the heck out of it and stuck my cutting which mostly all rotted in a week. The Spagnum peat moss is dampish in the bag. Is that enough moisture to root a cutting? Should I not wet it more? Of course I’m not going to wet it like I did before. It’s be great if you could make a video about soil mixture and water.
I think everything in the Bay Area cost much more!😂. I could probably get more here also. I'm just trying to show how quick they can be turned. Thanks for watching
Wow. Those have leaped!!! I bet you can make 60, easy! And it’s a great time to plant them. Good luck. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
As a vegetable gardener I think I've found the channel I need to watch and learn from in order to add color and diversity for my gardens.

Awesome. Good luck with it. Sometimes you learn more from a few things going wrong. Keep that in mind

She really is👍🐕
I have to move my Daphne - think I'll take some cuttings in case I lose it. I hear they are fussy. You make it look so easy.

I have many pots of hibiscus rooting right now. They're doing great. Thanks for your help.☺
I loved seeing this. Wishing I had the space to do this. I need to go back & see & learn more. Really inspired. Thanks 🌺

That's awesome
You can pay for that leaf waterer if you sell enough plant starts and that would be a great way to get one if it is out of your price range!
Very true
How do you overwinter your plants for the next year?

I don't use vermiculite. It holds water as well. I use perlite and peat. About 50/50
isn't there a rule about what can be copied? how does one find that info out?
Have plants will travle!
Here in CA Bay Area plants that size sell for $3-5 or more

You are close to Annie’s Annuals..I’m jealous!
👍❤️😊
I’m no grammar guru, but shouldn’t the title be “sell”?
Obviously, more of a guru than I am😂. Thanks. I get in a big hurry when I'm uploading these videos
Is that dog puke on the floor?
